Beautiful! I actually bought that pattern (Liula) to use with a Wolltraum ball before I found out there was a free version I haven't started it yet though. Ugh, sorry you got burned like that, the price for that pattern seems kinda outrageous to me considering that (AFAIK) all they did was add a DC edge to the free stitch pattern. I'm all for designers being paid for their work/time, but that just seems ridiculous. Anyway, the pattern is very easy. I've made a few mistakes - some frogged, some fudged - but once you get the hang of it you can mostly just read the previous row to work out what you're doing as you go. The only thing you have to The Liula pattern was way overpriced, the designer had to do quite a bit of refunding when people became aware of the free pattern. I follow her podcast on YouTube but she never really addressed the issue. I've finished my star, it's a nice lap size.

I have a crocheted cardigan to finish. But took a break from it to unravel a crocheted shawl I made. I never wear shawls, and want to use the yarn for something else. So I'm working on getting it back into balls of yarn, so I can see how much I have. I ought to finish later today, and I'll pack those yarn balls away and pick the cardigan back up.

betty - your talent amazes me. I recently got some paint and rocks and want to paint them but do not have much skill in that area. I am just blown away by your rocks!!! I would be so thrilled to find a rock like that.

I thought I would share this here - it isn't crafty in the traditional sense but it is something I made myself. My sister and I took a glassblowing class last week and we made paperweights. Here is the one I made. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go back and make something else.

Going to share my stupidity with you. I've had a scarf on needles since last winter sometime. I think Dec 2016, as that would have been winter break. Somewhere between then and now, I lost the paper with the pattern on it 3 times. Then, I would have to search the internet for the name of it...discover it was for a charge...hope I would find it on my laptop. There was enough time between the searches that this was the sequence of events and I would remember I'd done this previously. It was still well hidden on my laptop, as I could only find it by doing a search with the scarf name. Tuesday was Knit Night. I hadn't been to Knit Night in a year. So, I went through the process and printed off the pattern, AGAIN. All this time I was thinking that I wouldn't remember where I was in the pattern. When I sit down at Knit Night, I discover there was exactly 2 lines in the pattern...RS & WS. I'd been knitting a just-to-knit rectangular shawl (only knit stitch--It helps ease the pain and stiffness in my hands) in the interim. Hoping to finish the scarf by mid-February.

Here is the one I made. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go back and make something else. My husband and I and our former neighbors did a class three years ago where we got to make a vase or bowl. We'd done ornaments many years before. I know my husband would love to do the paperweight. Yours is gorgeous. I love the color!

I like this sweater a lot, the pattern isn't out yet but it's going on my to make list. I think it would look good in one colour. I'm thinking I've made enough blankets and shawls for now!!

lainey already on my to-make list too! It would be nice in a single colour, but I'm also thinking it could be fun to do in Whirl.

I'm loving ALL these gorgeous crafts. Everyone is so talented, and PATIENT! I've crocheted since I was 10. I vividly remember waking up at dawn one summer Saturday and amusing myself until everyone else awoke by opening a crochet kit that I got for my birthday and teaching myself. By the time Mum came in, wondering why I was so quiet and whether I was OK, I was three-quarters through a bobble-hat for my baby cousin. My current passions are card-making and recycling candles. Cards are far too common-place for this thread though. And I think I've shared my candles before. So I'll sit here and drool at your creations, and do a lot of Liking.

JoP - I love the colors in your blanket! It's looking great! disneypal - Gorgeous paperweight! I've never thought about taking a glass blowing class (not even sure where I'd find one), but your paperweight makes me want to try it. I've not gotten a thing done since Christmas, other than sewing a couple of buttons on for DD. What I've been doing is a serious purge and organization of my sewing room and I've made amazing progress! Five boxes of fabrics, supplies and notions are gone to storage, just waiting for the garage sale at a charity crop I do every July. The counter top is nearly clear and I feel like I have breathing room in there now, which equates to space to create. After lunch I will be in there working on some birthday gifts I need to give on Mon/Tues. Hopefully I'll have something to share soon!

Oops, almost forgot to post the video that brought me to this thread! Ran across this earlier today and thought those of you who knit or crochet might enjoy it. It's about a man who knits hats in Ohio, and uses recycled sweaters of natural fibers from thrift stores for the yarn. The Man Who Knits

I love your paperweight. I am taking my first glass blowing class with some friends in a couple of weeks and your picture got me excited. Was it hard to do? Thank you. It wasn’t hard because we had an amazing instructor-so precise and patient. The only thing to note is you have to keep the rod that the glass is on moving at all times or the hot glass will drip off and you have to work quickly, but with the instructor’s help, it was much easier than I expected. Have fun and show us your finished piece.

I’ve just finished colour 61 so I’m about a third through week 4, of the Attic 24 Woodland CAL I’m thinking of stopping around the end of week 4. The blanket is a gift for my Aunt who is having hip surgery and I think this size will be more suitable for her to use whilst recuperating. The blanket should measure approx 48” x 72” when finished. I’m thinking of stopping when it’s 48” x 55” or 48“ x 60” can anybody give me some advice/suggestions please? Thanks Attachments:

My goal is to finish my niece’s t-shirt quilt I am making for her mother. It has been so hard, we lost her four years ago. Just dimccuttibg the t-shirts up was painful. I had put it away for awhile and got it back out to get the binding on and just started bawling. It is going to be hard to let go if when I am done. 🙁
