My goal is to finish my niece’s t-shirt quilt I am making for her mother. It has been so hard, we lost her four years ago. Just dimccuttibg the t-shirts up was painful. I had put it away for awhile and got it back out to get the binding on and just started bawling. It is going to be hard to let go if when I am done. 🙁
I am so sorry. Her mom is going to love that like no other. I cannot imagine how hard it is to do.

JoP, I am seriously amazed how far you've come on that blanket. I am way behind. I knew I would be, though. I have to be in the right mood to crochet. I just hope to have it finished by Christmas.

Thanks jeremysgirl - if it wasn’t for my 82 year old Aunt having surgery I wouldn’t be this far advanced. I’m struggling big time and keep counting and double checking my stitch alignment.

You are doing great JoP. It looks lovely. Personally, I like 48” x 60”, I think that’s the size I will stop at on my Nuts About Squares. It’s big enough to cover the top of a bed without adding too much bulk or weight and small enough to snuggle under on a chair. Best wishes to your aunt for her surgery. bdawnb what a hard task but a lovely thing to do. It will surely be a family treasure. Will you have enough material to maybe make a cushion cover or the front of one that you could keep for yourself?

I just returned home from my scrapbook weekend. I want to show off what my mom did. She made these blankets for my sister and I. She has never knitted or crocheted. She found a YouTube video and did this on her own. I did have to show her how to finish it off. But seriously these blankets are cozy and warm.

Hi ladies. I purchased 6 crochet patterns yesterday. Most of them are sweaters. Now I need to buy yarn.
bdawnb, it must be hard to work on that project. It will be wonderful though when you finish it.
Jeremysgirl, that is great that your mom took than up. It looks like one is knitted and the other is crochet. Beautiful work and so awesome that she learned on her own. Now when you snuggle up in it, it'll be like a big hug from you mom.

I finished sewing my 81 squares together today. I think I may have done a row wrong side up😕. I need to decide if it’s worth taking it apart before I start the border. I also have to choose a pattern for the border.

Huge, it was. We took the picture like this on purpose to show off what both sides of the blanket look like to some friends who were trying to make a similar blanket. Mine looks like my sister's on the reverse side. And hers looks like mine on the reverse side.

JoP My mother had a hip replacement at 80 and she's come through it amazingly. I'll keep everything crossed for your aunt.
