This is when I miss Woolworths Do you have a B&M store close by? They sell brown paper in our local one. Sorry lainey - only just seen this post. I do have quite near and also I see that the office supplies company DH uses sells big rolls too but might be too big. I will have a look - thanks!

JoP I don’t have an Etsy shop as I’m just selling them on the rescue site’s auction page at the moment. The members just message me and pay via PayPal:)

I’ve thought of something crafty I can contribute! I’m going to wrap all my Christmas presents in brown paper this year as normal wrapping paper isn’t recyclable. So i’m Going to go and buy a stamp or two and an ink pad to decorate the paper with 😀 I’m hoping it’ll look pretty as well as not contributing to landfill. Forgive me if this has been discussed a zillion times before! 😀 gar, I was in Lidl this afternoon and their wrapping paper is in. They have 5m rolls of wrapping paper for 99p, and one of the designs is plain white reindeer on brown paper. No foiling and very recyclable. I bought 3! All my presents are going to be wrapped in the same paper, and I'm going to identify them with tags made out of last year's Christmas cards, and different coloured cotton baker's twine for each person. lainey, how is your mum? I've been wondering about you both. JoP I do like your new avatar! I'm going to order that wool from Hobbycraft online. And I may or may not have found a few more things that people can give me for Christmas...

lainey, how is your mum? I've been wondering about you both. Bless you. Mum's not too bad, she looks and seems much brighter in herself but I can see that walking around is painful for her. The physio and the OT have both said it's essential to get her moving even though it hurts We're looking at the weekend to have her back home.

Are you going to have to nag her to keep her moving? Good luck with that! What's gone wrong with the time stamp in that quote? It's showing Aug 2, 2014! Ooer...

I'm calling this a nativity garden. I got the idea from the fairy gardens. Last Easter I made a Resurrection garden with grands and I have stuff to make another nativity garden with them, too. This nativity is just a cheap .99 one from goodwill.
I wanted to make one for a sick friend, but she lives far away and I knew there was no way to mail it, so I called florists near her and after talking to 3, found 1 who will make her 1.
After looking at all my collection, I think I have several that could be adapted to make more for gifts...be a good way to get rid of some of them. (So I can buy more)

Just finishing off a mini attic in cottage. Made these yesterday and spend way too much time on the little house so dinner was late. House is 2" tall and tea chest is 2 and a half" tall and filled with boxes of Christmas decorations. These are AMAZING!

Are you going to have to nag her to keep her moving? Oh yes. I seem to be dealing with the world's oldest toddler.

I finished my Sunday-ish shawl last week but only just remembered to take some pics. I ended up not blocking it because the yarn has absolutely no 'give' and I didn't think it would make much difference to how it looks.
I winged (wung?) the coloured section after I realised my stitch count was way off to follow the pattern.

Lovely shawl lainey but my favourite shawl that you have shown pics of was the blue " Easy Goes It" I thought that was the prettiest thing I had seen for ages.

I did it, you guys! The only thing missing is the snow. I'll drizzle that this week. Sorry it looks a little dark but I wanted the lights to show. Hope you can click on them to see it closer. What I did: -bought some lanterns from Orchards last year's at their after Xmas sale. They came with the lights -i sprayed the lanterns red -trees are from the Target Dollar spot. I made one tree shorter -car and truck are new ornaments from Target -street lamps from Michael's -snow that will cover the ground later is from Michael's too

I love seeing your crochet projects as they are all lovely. I've made a few virus shawls and look forward to branching out. Right now I'm in the middle of a corner to corner throw blanket (probably closer to a twin size) and it is super heavy. I keep having to heave it over and I move along.

I’ve just (within the last hour!) ordered a lantern decoration from Wish. I might be looking more closely at yours for ideas to jazz it up.

I made more bags! I really need to learn to make different ones, maybe tackle a zip! Sorry for the dark pics, I can't remember when we last had a bright day here.

lainey - This is a bag pattern I use and really like. I’ll see if I can find a link to it. There are many sizes and fabric combinations you can do with it. ETA: Here is the link for the bag pattern as well as a second tutorial on how to add exterior pockets. I liked the free pattern so much that I bought the pattern with all the sizes. This is a great pattern for using up leftover fabrics. Lined Drawstring Bag TutorialAdded Pockets to Drawstring Bag Tutorial

We call that a Dorothy bag and it was the second item we made in sewing class in high school to hold our sewing notions etc. The first was a cap and apron to wear in cookery class. I loved my little bag and still used it until a few years ago when I had to stop as the fabric was so worn.

How is it almost December, eek! November flew right on by. I hope those celebrating thanksgiving had a lovely time with friends and family. I spent two weeks in Hawaii (poor me 🙂) so I haven’t been crafting as much as I’d like. I did manage to fully finish my Peace on Earth cross stitch. First time making a mounted flat fold: I’m stitching up some Christmas ornaments now and should be able to share those soon.

Slouchy hat for my niece who is 8. I made one for my sis last year and her DD loved it. So this is a kid one to stick in with her Christmas gifts
