At the moment, my main focus is on finishing the christening shawl I am knitting for my soon-to-arrive grandchild. I hve gotten this far:
I still have to finish the edging I am part way through, and knit 2 more identical pieces for the sides, then graft it all together. When finished, it should look like this:
After that is done, I have made a list of all my WIPs, and am now trying to prioritize it. Of course, once grandbaby is here, and I know if it is a boy or girl, I will probably add a few small items to my list.

I love that Eastern Jewel Blanket wellway. I wish I could crochet! The colours are stunning Congratulations on the soon-to-arrive grandchild sueg. Exciting. Your shawl looks lovely I mostly sew nowadays. I am part way through this windchime quilt by Sue Daley - I am doing all my petals in rainbow colour order. linkI am copying this design from My Paper Crane with her friendly faces fabric. I am going to make my panel into a library bag for niece/nephew that is soon to arrive. linkFor 2019 I really need to complete my La Passacaglia Quilt. I have hand pieced all the elements I just need to quilt it. It's my least favourite part of the process so I have been putting it off. I don't know how to post photo's. My Instagram name is paperpinsnpans if you want to have a look at it.

I currently have 9 crochet WIPs! I’m aiming to complete all of those - at least a couple this month, three if I can. Out of the 9, three are full size blankets, one baby blanket, and the rest are wraps/scarves/shawls. My Nuts About Squares blanket has been in hibernation for a long time - I just haven’t felt ready to tackle the blocking I need to do before joining the squares! Mainly due to the space & time needed. But I really do want to see it finished, so that’s high on my priority list. I don’t mind having a few WIPs on the go at a time for variety, but I want to keep it down to 3 or 4, so it will be a while before I can start anything new. I have my first new project ready to go, as I took advantage of a sale to buy the yarn I need. It will be a cardigan for me - my first garment. After that, I have a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete. DH suggested that I should make a blanket to use as a wall-hanging - never mind that we don’t have any wall space for such a thing! - in maybe a Native American style. That lead to me showing him the Indiana design, and from there the Havana, and he really liked a scarf we saw done in the Havana pattern, so I’d like to do that for him. Other than crochet, I want to do a bit more cross stitch this year. Again I have bunch of WIPs, so I’d just be working towards completion rather than starting anything new. That’s probably more than enough to be going on with unless I win the lottery and can retire!

jennyap I love the stitches in the Havana pattern. So effective with just 2 colours. Good luck with finishing your blanket. I just googled it and it looks amazing!

jennyap when I blocked my nuts about squares blocks I used a children's four piece play mat. Each mat was about two foot square, I think I got four blocks on each mat. Once I had pinned the blocks I leaned the mats up against a sideboard as I don't have the floor space to lie them flat. You could lean them up against the back of a sofa, then they would be really out of the way. The blocking I don't mind so much but I have to work myself up for establishing the first row or two of the borders!

There are some amazing works in progress here already - you are all very talented ladies. Will be looking out for the completed pics.
I received a prayer flag in my Christmas bundle and look forward to putting that together soon. There is no point in posting a pic as at the moment it is a big pile of threads, laces and buttons! Will post when done.

Thank you for starting the thread. I haven’t participated much the past few months because I have been so busy and haven’t crafted much. However, I just crocheted this for a co-worker’s son. I am currently making another one for a little boy at church. After that, I have a shawl that I started over a year ago and never completed so I want to finish that and also finish an afghan I started a few years ago.

And drumroll please...... here’s my first finish of 2019 (Ok, there are still a bunch of ends to weave in, but you can’t see those lol) As soon as I laid it out one of the cats came for an inspection: Colours are so much nicer in real life, I might re-photograph in summer lol!

jennyap that is so awesome even DH gave it two thumbs up! I am working on the Tea House Wrap. The colors in my pic look off no matter how I photograph it. In the gray sections, the gray is tweeded with the darker colors. Put together it looks really nice.

I can never tag on my phone, but man, you crafty and talented ladies make me want to make things!! I spent some quiet time at home working on my English paper piecing quilt. I started it a few years ago. It’s a slow stitching process. These flowers are just the centres of the blocks, I need to add more hexies around them still, but this is what I’ve made this year. http://instagram.com/p/BsN7Sf2Hm7T When the blocks are done they will be diamond-shaped, like these: http://instagram.com/p/BXf7iQ3hud9

My DiL had a lot of difficulty getting pregnant, and this baby is IVF so who knows if there will be another. My other son is gay, so unlikely to procreate.

First grandchild on both sides, DS and DDiL have been married for 8 years. Baby will be soooooo loved. My DiL sent me a link on Facebook today for a baby expo in their home town, which is on the weekend after I arrive there to be ready for baby. I think she and I will ahve a wonderful time there together!

Happy New Year! I love all the projects that are posted. Beautiful work all of you! melrose - Someone tagged me with that meme on Facebook the other day. I guess my friends really do know me! I've been busy getting the house back in order this week and am heading into the sewing room later today. I've decided to take a different approach this year and make monthly goals rather than for the year. On the decluttering/organizing thread I said I wanted to complete 3 projects this month. Not sure what they will be but I have several lined up. Will post again once I've decided. Has anyone else here signed up for the Denise Hendrick Embroidery & Embellishment class on Facebook? I've signed up but still haven't gathered all my threads and fabric. Will try to pull those today.

Asking for a friend. (I am bored with the Afghan...)

Delta Dawn totally ok! I do because, you know, different yarn weights and hook sizes, more or less complicated patterns, small portable projects to travel with, large stay-at-home projects... Variety is the spice of life after all!
