The "c" key is stuck somehow, and I have to press it like 3 or 4 times for it to work. Plus my laptop is heavy. And the speakers suck. Do you have any opinions on laptap vs. tablet? The thing I don't like about tablets is no dvd drive.

This is why we bought a house. I can't stand noise from the neighbors. I feel for you!

I haven't seen any of these! I hope they have them ondemand. Sounds like something I need to record. What is the actual title of the show?

I really don't get the "framily" phone commercials. Why is the dad a hamster? I HATE those commercials! The marionettes one is weird too. I haven't seen the tripadvisor one. My girls were laughing at the kayak one last night where the guys fingers fly off. The geico commercials drive them nuts though.

I did that a few days ago too. I found a lot of things I had forgotten about and saved them on my computer. It took forever! I had a LOT of bookmarks. I love our new home too, even better than 2peas, not sure why, but I do!

I love your avatar and name too! I've never seen that painting before, but I really like it. Would be great in a reading room. You'll find lots of peas who love to read. We share ideas for good books to read, it's fun. Welcome!

Their faith is irrelevant. They created a nation free from the constraints of a national religion - a place where all faiths (and lack thereof) are welcome and accepted - a nation where you can worship freely, or not worship at all. If their intent was to create a strictly Judeo-Christian nation, they were smart enough that they would have enunciated that point in the Constitution itself. I agree with this. I just happen to believe that they were inspired by God to come to this country where they could worship as they saw fit (or not worship) and the separation of church and state was key.

I like the competition reality shows, like Survivor and Amazing Race. I don't like that every time you turn around, there is a new reality show coming out. I watched the first show of Rising Star. Ugh, so boring. What gets me quite a bit of the time, is that channels like History channel, don't even show history for the most part. History channel always has American Pickers on. Show after show after show. I don't want to watch people pick through junk. I want a documentary about history! I don't get how a channel thinks that is good to play the same show all day like a marathon. You'd think they would show a variety of things, to keep the most viewers happy.

I hate to vent about my dad, but I'm going to. I sometimes wonder if he even thinks about my feelings or what I'm going through daily. Maybe it's a man vs. woman thing. Since my mom passed away I've been helping him slowly go through her things. He called me on the 4th and started blaming me for throwing away something valuable. First, he didn't even look around to see if he had misplaced what he was accusing me of throwing away. Second, he refuses to help me go through anything. He complains about how that just makes more work for him. The kicker, the 4th was 5 months since my husband passed away. I was already having a bad day and then he calls to basically yell at me. Does he not realize that I lost my husband, and my mom? I want to help him, but it's emotionally draining on a GOOD day. I'm so sorry you are going through this. ((((hugs)))

Just reading these farming posts makes me tired. That could be because I am blue today and have not done a thing except pea and some online shopping. Retail therapy. Don't you guys know that Sunday is a day of rest?

My dad used to wake us up if we weren't up by 9 on a Saturday by dripping water from a glass onto our heads. Maddening. I let my kids sleep however long they want in the summer. I make my 14 yo dd go to bed at 11:00 so I can have some alone time to unwind. She can read or whatever. During the school year I have to get her up. She "sleeps" through turning off the alarm.

I have a bit of rosacea too and I used Cetaphil wash and moisturizer. They work well. I don't think it affects the redness though. I also have little capillaries that show through my skin, so a good foundation is a must for me. I wish there was something I could do to get rid of those.

I just looked at the Tupperware website and the wave stack cooker is not what I have. That thing has more pieces and is way expensive! Mine cost around $20 bucks a bunch of years ago. They didn't even show it on their website.

The stack cooker...hmmm. Is that like the round pan that has a steamer shelf that's perforated in the bottom and then a lid on top? 3 pieces? I have one of those but have never made a cake in it. I used to use it all the time, and I've sort of forgotten about it. I have cooked a cake in the microwave in the pampered chef stoneware bundt pan though. It came out pretty good.

Thanks for the responses and opinions everyone. I really shouldn't have told her that it was rude, that was rude of ME. She just gets under my skin. And as for DH saying something to her, that is not likely to happen, but I will try to behave myself. I do know that she's lonely. She lives 2 hours, but it is by choice so I think it's her own fault. Her kids, grandkids, and mom and siblings all live up here by us. She has talked about moving up closer to all of us for 5 years, but she hasn't made the move yet. I think the big part of it is that she is a hoarder...like what you would see on tv. I don't think she can bear to leave her home and her "stuff". The hoarding thing, maybe she enjoys being in your clean environment? The telling you that she will stay 4 days a week is not cool in my book. The food thing to me is a little weird but not necessarily rude.

whether they believed in God or not...they were big big believers in separation of church and state and to have no national religion or religious test for office....our country had a history of freedom of and freedom from religion I agree with this as well.

Forgot to add that I would always do a firmware update first. I'm not savvy enough to know how I find a firmware update for my laptop. I'm guessing go to the acer website?
eta: actually I bet the firmware update would be for the router. Should I look for updates for my laptop as well? I went to the acer website and it doesn't show anything to update drivers or anything, just what laptops are for sale.
eta again: found the drivers, but I see this is not what I'm after. LOL told you I wasn't savvy!

I consider myself very patriotic, but I dislike picnics where you have to drag so much stuff to eat outside, and I don't do well with the heat. I don't like bugs in my food/drink. I dislike baseball, too slow to keep my attention. I don't dislike fireworks, but last night, I saw a few through the window, and that was enough. I do, however, adore apple pie.

We are coming up on these decisions soon. My mom has given up after her last fall and now uses a walker. I say given up because she could still do a lot of things for herself, but doesn't do any of them. She sits in a chair all day watching tv. My dad is getting run into the ground, and he is resentful of it. I live over 7 hours away, so I am not there for the day to day stuff, but I know before too many years, the assisted living thing is going to come about. Both my parents are 71. They have enough assets that it could be paid for I think. In my own situation with DH, that is not a given. We don't make a lot and the 401k is not fat. I have diabetes, so could probably not even get long term care insurance.

I'll join you. Mine puts things away but never where they belong he just puts out of sight. I have to look for everything and put it in the right place. Mine does this too, and if you ask him where he put it, he'll just say "I didn't touch it"... he honestly doesn't remember.

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I didn't even know the KKK was still in existence. That is so wrong. I don't have any ideas about what you should do, especially if you suspect or don't trust law enforcement. Maybe a state agency would have an answer.

I did it for a couple months in the summer. It was OK. The quality was not always there, and sometimes there would only be one of a particular item, say, an artichoke or a beet. To make it worth cooking, or to serve for dinner, I'd have to go buy more. Also, you never knew what you were going to get. I'm all for trying new things, but when more than half the basket is stuff you or your family don't like, it sucks. That was the main reason I quit, not knowing what you'd get. Oh, and having to pick it up only between 6:00-6:30am on a Saturday. Um, no thanks. When we did bountiful baskets, the quality was better than the CSA though. Same other issues though.

I don't read the political threads too much, so I don't know "how you were before." I just wanted to say that I think it probably took a lot of guts to come forward and apologize. I commend you for that and look forward to getting to know you. I hope your situation gets better soon.
