My grandmother passed away this weekend very unexpectedly. I've found a few possibilities online but thought I would ask the peas. I don't want something overly religious. I'm having a hard time figuring out who different books are aimed at - I'm 28, so I don't need something about many surrounding friends passing, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Yikes! Was this the Westin downtown? I would expect a fully comped room and points to entice me to ever give them another shot...

This sounds like a smaller company if you're able to figure out who the "creator" is. Is it an infomercial type product? If so, the BBB might be your best next step. Keep us posted!

I mean this in the kindest way possible, and can tell from your tone that you're frustrated, but keep in mind that many, many, many people are away from home for hours longer than 6 to 4:30.

The Book Loft in German Village is a fun place! You could wander there and get a cream puff. Sounds like a solid afternoon to me!

Condado is a great taco place! Quick uber from your hotel, just straight north on high street past Marcella's.

You've gotten great suggestions! I love v-neck tshirts with elbow-length sleeves. Try Chicos or Talbots for those. Also, What Not to Wear is on at the moment - Wednesday night marathons on Discovery Family! They do a great job with shapes and color suggestions.

I wondered this also! I tried on a pair at Anthro last week and actually liked them. I wouldn't pay their prices for them, but might look for a cheaper pair elsewhere!

I've pretty much switched to Lucy. All of my Lucy stuff has been washed a ton of times and still looks brand new. I also appreciate their wider variety of sizes and I haven't experienced any attitude from the sales people in Lucy, which isn't always true for Lululemon. Lucy has their own stores, but it's also carried at REI, Dick's, and Von Maur.

So sorry. I have no advice about the dog or how to handle your brother, but as far as school goes... I would go ahead and pick a date now that you can take as a personal day a few weeks in. Take that day for yourself completely!

It's about an hour south of Columbus, which would be a long commute but much more activity for young people! Columbus has a pro hockey team and minor league baseball team. Most people are either Reds or Indians, Bengals or Browns fans - the Cincinnati teams would be slightly closer to Chillicothe but he'll probably find a population of both.
Honestly, I don't mean this as a put down to anyone who may have grown up there or lives there, but Chillicothe probably wouldn't be my first choice of places to live fresh out of school. Congrats to him on the job offer though! I would consider surrounding towns and also consider commuting from Columbus at first to meet some people, learn the areas, etc.

A cruise. (Maybe even the Weight Watchers cruise, so there will be lots of additional information and low-cal meals). Apple watches. A $500 gift card to your favorite movie theater, so you will have free movies for a year. I love the movie idea! I might buy movie gift cards the next time I have some extra cash laying around! I am eyeing an iPad Pro, so I would be tempted to go that route... But I also love the idea of a weekend or 4 day trip!

Definitely need: extra long phone charging cord and surge protectors/outlet strips. Didn't use much: more dishes than a few plastic plates!

I wouldn't replace the carpet. If only that one spot is stained (from the list, I was picturing pet stains throughout), leave it and write a flooring allowance into the sale price. Your buyers may rather have hardwood right inside an entry anyway - I know I would :-).

I would look on Teachers Pay Teachers for mini units on different types of writing - Informational, Argumentative/Opinion, and Narrative. You could start with just informational and opinion and go from there - sounds like she may not need as much help with narrative.

Apparently I have a lot to say about this, lol. I will agree that it would be appropriate for your daughter to ask someone why she wasn't extended an invitation. So she knows what she can fix before next year. But I caution her to tread carefully with this. A "how come Suzy did but I didn't?" or "I don't have the same chances as Johnny!" or anything that looks like an excuse or gripe can backfire on her. Even worse if you get involved. Mom emailing on her behalf doesn't scream "leadership." A student of mine had her application denied her junior year. Her mother wrote a few emails asking, then demanding, then complaining about how unfair it was that the daughter's friends were all in but she wasn't. Daughter picked up on the bad attitude and got sassy with it herself. As a result, that girl wasn't invited the next year either. And... once you're in doesn't mean you get to stay. All of the chapters I've known have strict requirements to maintain membership. Four of my dd's friends were kicked out last year because they did not keep up with meeting attendance and/or service hours. I was going to add something similar to these thoughts after reading your update. I really think this needs to be her doing - not yours. It needs to be something she's interested in pursuing and maintaining.

First, talk to your daughter. Often, students have to apply to be in NHS. Did she have information about it that she chose not to do anything with? If not and it truly was out of the blue, have her email the advisors and ask what she could do to be considered for the next induction class. I think you need to take a step back on worrying about accommodations until those two steps have been covered.

I'm in the same boat. I worked a week of leading PD sessions, then a week of a camp, so my first week of freedom was last week. I had great intentions of 7 AM workouts and one has yet to happen... I just keep sleeping! Of course, right about now (10:30 PM) I'm wiiiiide awake - I've seen 1 AM the past several nights. I need to get this flipped back before it gets worse!

I think you will be totally fine. I'm also in a Midwest city. Attended a wedding in May that said "formal attire" and had similar questions. I wore a 3/4 length sleeve, knee-length, navy, lace overlay dress from Loft and was concerned I wouldn't be formal enough... It was COMPLETELY fine. I really think people are putting "formal" to avoid having someone show up in jeans. I have another wedding to attend in July that also states formal - I won't wear the same dress because of the 3/4 sleeves, and will go with something like you described.

I had a 2005 escape, replaced with a 2013 CR-V, and just switched back to a new Escape! I missed the bigger engine the Escape had.

School policy. No different than being held out of a football game, etc. due to not meeting grade requirements.

Similar to a poster above, I was motivated by wanting to be as prepared as possible for my future! My parents didn't ever really lay down "rules", but it was understood that I should be finished in 4 years (I had no hesitation on my major, so I don't know if this would have been different in a different circumstance). We all had high expectations for my grades and it was understood that taking classes my "job" (I worked during the summer and winter breaks for spending money and sorority dues) - not the other aspects of college ;-). I did end up finishing a master's just two years after graduating while teaching full time, and they helped pay that tuition as well.
