Fudge, or "Bumpy Cake" - there is a bakery called Sanders that stocks them frozen some places (I'm in Ohio, so not sure how common that is elsewhere). Basically a ho-ho sheet cake!

That's about right, some weeks maybe closer to $50 or $60 depending on what he's doing for entertainment... But I would say $40 is a fair average!

I am so sorry to see this! Things are moving way too fast. Keeping Donna and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

I would look for the foil version at Sam's before renting. It comes with a stand and sterno can. I don't think they're too expensive!

I would do a 2 day ticket for the hop on/hop off bus. You get a good overview that way. Sunday evening, do Top of the Rock. I would do a Central Park walk and hit Zabar's also.

I am working on an office/craft room/laundry area in the finished part of my basement. I'm considering doing an accent wall with this stuff... Any thoughts? It looks like Target carries some as well as Home Depot and Anthropologie. Tips? Tricks? Run far, far away advice? :-)

Wasn't she a Pea LONG time ago??? I know I used to go to that blog a lot.. I think for a recipe... Yes, she was - she made a lot of fonts using the pea’s handwriting ( LINK). She used to scrap amazing recipe pages. Anyone know if Pea Virginia was Compwalla's? I bet her husband/kids would like to know it exists if so.

I am livid for you and not even remotely catholic! My first step would be whoever is above the principal. Whether someone in the dioceses or a board or whoever... I would start there and use pretty much what you said at the end of your post. I would also let other parents know so that if they want to send a similar message, they can. I would not go in as a group, as I think that can be taken less seriously and you become "those parents" - but I would all send notes and make your point about possibly leaving the school very clear. This priest should NOT be allowed to run mass, period. Good luck!

Did anyone else notice Jennifer Garner saying she isn't an asymmetrical person and then they showed 3 dresses that were one shouldered? Including the one she has on. ?!

Suit with pants is definitely fine. When I interviewed, I went to Ann Taylor and bought a jacket with both the pants and skirt that "went" with the jacket - so I had options if I wanted. I ended up only ever wearing the skirt but felt better having the option in case of a last minute change of heart!
Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Loft, and Nordstrom would all be appropriate places to find a "fun" patterned/colored shell to go under the jacket or a cardigan. I like the Halogen and Caslon brands at Nordstrom... Anthropologie and J Crew would also be good places to look.
Good luck!

It's forever etched on my brain that she said her husband was going to confront his mother about the loss of his foreskin. I also remember her posting her bank statements so we could see how much she spent on her babies. I had completely forgotten about that until you posted - funny how our brains work, isn't it?

Do a makeover at Sephora! It's $50 but free if you spend $50 in products. I've done it twice and been really happy with the service. You can book online.

Uber or renting are probably your best options. If you know anyone else going to the conference, are you interested in splitting a rental with them?

I like the look you posted and your skinny jeans/booties plan. I would look at Anthropologie for a jacket - they have fun pieces that can be mixed easily with classics.

I'm on snow day number ?!#%! and have transitioned to "clean the house like mad because I won't have this much time again until summer". It has led to tackling the guest bathroom under-the-sink cabinet. I found some Magic Shave Powder that I know was purchased sometime between 2012 and 2014... Think it's good as new? No date on the container...

I have really strange dreams and nightmares on it - it doesn't work for me. I do like Natural Calm, which is a magnesium supplement you mix into hot water. I drink it like tea in the evening.

I think Asheville and D.C. are both great options! I would wait until she's 21 for Nashville - I think 18 is a kind of a "bubble age" there. Not necessarily that she'd want to drink even then, but finding live music or other things to do in the evening will be easier at 21.

I’m doing low carb (under 30 total carbs) and intermittent fasting. I usually fast between 16-18 hours per day depending on how quickly I can get dinner done each night. Since I’m a teacher, my lunch time is not flexible at all. I’ve lost 50+ lbs since June. I still have a lot to go, but it’s working for me. I'm also a teacher and thinking about IF - do you start your eating window during your school lunch or wait until you're home?

do they already have some of their spring clothing out? whoops, no clothes... new kitchen appliance, maybe? bath towels? new shower curtain, rugs for the bathroom (or a rug for another room), etc.? coordinating bath accessories? they have SOME Yankee Candles at Kohls, too, I think... Spring clothes were my first thought! There isn't much spring stuff online yet. I'm thinking they'll wait to post it until this cash expires on Sunday... Thus the "no clothes" guideline - I am legging and tunic-d out!

I have $40 of Kohl's Cash burning a hole in my pocket... It expires on Sunday and I may as well spend it! The whole "game" of shopping at Kohl's drives me nuts, but I'm not going to turn down "free" money . I don't really need any clothing. I thought about buying workout clothes, but don't really need anything there either. Considering the small fruit bowls from Fiesta in either gray or turquoise. I just bought another one of the famous throws on Black Friday. Any other suggestions? Something more exciting than athletic socks? Taylor

My favorite is the Brooks Maia. (Spelling might be off). I have seen it labeled both Brooks and Moving Comfort - same bra, hanging on the same rack at Dick's. It is probably also in the title nine catalog.

Double check if his rental gear includes a helmut. If not, he will need to bring one. I'm not sure about that - I would check the resort website. Probably not required.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. My grandma passed away very unexpectedly at the beginning of November and it feels as though this whole month has been a blur. Thanksgiving was rough and I'm expecting this month/Christmas season to also be very hard. It's helpful to read similar experiences of others. Hugs to all!

I would try the Hanes crewnecks in the men's section at Walmart. I've used them for parts of costumes before and they're comfy!
