I called in a noise complaint about our neighbors (abt. 9 houses away) last night. Bigger fireworks are now legal here, and nothing is done unless they are pointing them at someone/something.
So, I called with a noise complaint since it was after 10:30. Police came out, happened to catch the idiots drinking as they set them off, and took 3 to jail. Woohoo!

Unfortunately, he had a reccurance of lung cancer. I meant that his family said, I hadn't read that. So sad, no matter what.

We homeschool. Ds is in 8th grade this year and I need to get started planning the next four years. I found a four year curriculum planner but it is religious-based. I have not been able to find a secular one.
I need something that I can keep all together, but also change out if need be (so a spiral-bound planner is out). It doesn't have to be fancy, I'd design my own in excel, but I'm too busy right now.
Any suggestions?

Went to my regular doctor today. He said it didn't look like a concussion, but an injury to the muscles going into my neck.
He said I'll need to notify the MRI tech to have additional support during my scans. :/

You don't say how you landed, but if you fall hard on your bottom, the jarring can shake your brain in your skull in the same way as if you hit your head. If you're worried, please go and get checked out. Feel better soon. I fell across an outdoor plant stand (long metal one) and "landed" on my stomach. I don't remember my head jerking, though.

I took a nasty spill two days ago that left bruises across the front of my thighs, my upper left arm, and my right forearm. Plus I blew out the veins from my right first and second fingers to my wrist.
Did not hit my head but ever since yesterday morning, I've had a constant headache. Thought it was sinuses but meds don't have any effect.
I have my six month brain mri scheduled for this Friday, I'm thinking I just wait because I'm not nauseous or any other signs of concussion. I go see my neurologist right afterward so he'll tell me if he sees anything funkier than usual.
Could it be a concussion or just aches and pains from the fall?

I'm trying to find out exactly how much sex is in it. One review says brief nudity (butt), another lists like six or seven different scenes where they are "implying" sex.
Ds is 13, and is not a sheltered child.

I want to know what the other gift was that you loved and will use every day. In other words, I'm still looking for ideas! Mary K It's a grime guard for my cross stitch scroll frames. Pretty specialized gift! Lol

I must see a picture. I must. Is there any possibility the giver gave you the wrong gift? Maybe these were meant for Aunt Martha who DOES collect miniature dishes? There's going to be four layers of tape if I cut it open again! Lol

I think we need a photo..... Yo Ave to wait until after Christmas. I wrapped those bad boys back up and set the package near the tree so the giver won't ask what I thought.

Those sound the the kind of perfectly weird kitchy religious items that I collect. . I am also a heathen- I just think they are funny. So I say embrace them and have tiny tea parties for Jesus. I dunno. I think Jesus would wonder "what's up with the giraffe print?"

Who is the gift giver? I would donate the plates to goodwill and never give it another thought. Everyone has plates, why would you buy someone plates? Maybe your cabinets are full, it's clearly not to your taste, I find the gift rude and wouldn't feel the need to use it to please the gift giver. It is family. The plates are only four-five inches across.

The weirdest thing is that they gave me a Christmas present that I will use every day until it wears out. It is the best present, one that they HAD to have paid attention to notice that I use.
Dh says I should blame whatever happens to them on the cats or my MS. I'm assuming he means they should "accidentally" be left lying about.

I'm agnostic leaning towards atheism.
I have known the gift-giver since I was 15. In those 27 years, I have never joined in a prayer at dinner with them (I do bow my head out of respect), I have never gone to church (my wedding was held in one because it was the "expected" thing to do in my town, and that was ten years AFTER I met this person), I have never given any sign that I was religious in any way. And actually, I've always said I was a "heathen" or "hedging my bets". No religion (although I do love singing Christmas carols, but it's the music not the words) expression, period.
They gave me a birthday gift last night and I opened it today. It is a set of miniature dishes that have very religious quotes on them. I could easily look past the horrible background (an animal print which is even wrapped around one of the crosses) or put them away until this person came to visit (about once a month) but they are so very religious that I cannot.
I really, truly, do not understand the thought process that went into this gift.

To me, that is way too many varieties for the number of people. You would essentially be making each person their own batch of soup. If you're going to do all of that, why not just buy the soup at Panera? You're going to be there anyway buying bread bowls. I would love to do that, but dh says "that's stupid". I enjoy cooking, so doing the different batches doesn't bother me.

We are turkey and ham'd out. I decided we are doing something different for Christmas dinner, asked friends for their suggestions, and decided to go the soup route.
It will only be four or five of us, but my door is open to anyone that is missing their dysfunctional family and wants to share mine. (We've never actually had anyone just show up.)
Ds is all for it and wants loaded baked potato soup.
Dh is "meh" and say chili would be okay.
Mil says yes, but made no suggestion.
I'm craving a creamy Italian style of soup. I've had it at Olive Garden but I'm too lazy to look it up right now.
Am I crazy to make four or five different batches? I'd only make enough for four or five servings each. I was also thinking of getting bread bowls from Panera, plus rolls and then make cornbread for the chili.
Dh says it sounds like more work then normal. Typically, I make ham, sweet potatoes, dressing, green beans, macaroni and cheese salad, deviled eggs, pimento spread, and rolls. Plus dessert. I say soups would be soup-er easy. (Sorry, had to do it!)

Gruesome response: If there is a face to compare. I'm sure the police have a lot of things to compare, tattoos, scars etc that don't make the public flyer. Not necessarily. I don't have tattoos or scars. I'm perfectly okay with the flyer saying short, fat chick, brown hair, blue eyes.

Which foot do you start first when walking? Which foot do you put most of your weight?
If you start moving your right foot, first, then that muscle gets more of a workout.
If you rest your weight on your left foot, it is flatter than the right.
Or, I could be pulling that out of my ass. Lol

Welcome, and thanks for posting! Be careful- this place is addicting! When you talk to exDIL, be sure to mention that you've already had to talk to the owner about her cat and don't want to have to go to her again. Are there laws/regulations in your area about letting pets run loose? Are there any loose dogs that could harm her cat while it's running around the neighborhood? Any wild animals? If so, be sure to mention those to her as good reasons to keep a closer eye on her cat. Do you have catmint growing in your yard? Maybe that's why the cat keeps going across the street to your place. LOL It IS addicting I'm not sure what our laws are. We live in city limits so there may be. The neighbor's have a dog that would kill it if it got in their yard or if it got out, which it has. This dog killed chickens, which aren't allowed within the city limits but the enforcement officer didn't enforce that. She keeps the cat inside sometimes. We do have some kind of mint growing in our yard, not sure what kind. I find it laying in my passion flowers mostly. If you don't want to be accusatory, you could always point out the dog as a reason to keep the cat inside....
