I had decided to quit in December too and I *almost caved for the stamp set but then I realized, I could just buy the stamp if I wanted it that badly. It's like my brain sees free and gets all excited. Lol True, but I already decided I want to continue my Story Kit sub for 2016 (it's my favourite kit now) so might as well get a stamp thrown in. The mixed alpha has my vote too I say go for it. You'll get no judging from me. I love the concepts you've shared for next year

Yes @devildog there may be a little piling up happening here as well which did help with my decision although ithat's never really worried me before. i also looked at next year's themes & they didn't really speak to me. Also (& I don't know why this is) her asking on the message boards for ideas for next year put me off a little. So with me not liking her partnership arrangements these other things just sealed the deal for me.

I just got an email from Ali re the story kits inviting me to extend my sub 6 months and get a free stamp for doing so. It smells very SC. I'm not extending simply because I'm not committing anywhere for 2016. I love Ali's kits but I'm just burned out on subs. Maybe her numbers are dropping. There sure has been a lot of talk on here about people not wanting to be affiliated with SC whatsoever. As much as I would love love to own that mixed font alpha stamp (& I'm embarrassed to say that for a moment I did think of re-committing) I had already decided to cancel after Dec 15, so for once I'm going to hold firm. It still makes me a little sad though

Oh my gosh, my Filofax came and it is gorgeous! I'm so not going to be a planner flunkie this time! It's functional, simple and clean, and so pretty! I got a red domino A5. I'm ready to plan stuff now! Nooooo I have the red personal size one ( first planner since my professional & pre- iPhone days). As I got into it, found it a bit small & was going to upsize for next year. So DD texts me from work & says 'mum just got a 40% off voucher for Kikki.K what do you want? Well amongst other things I had her order me their A5 plain black planner. It looks very functional & although I don't go over the top with embellies it will will look great with coloured tabs & paper clips etc but the cover (although it is called leather) is not very impressive. The leather of that domino Filofax is so so scrumptious You are going to love using it

I don't doubt people are talking with their wallets but I believe this was the plan. They are gradually reducing their offerings so that by January, they will only be selling main kits like ABM and Ali. And I also believe that the rewards program will be a thing of the past. October's kits were planned at least six months ago, long before they announced the changes and all of the mistakes occurred. It seems a good number of people who want to continue with SC will opt for the month-to-month so they don't have the steep penalties over their heads. Question is will switching to month-to-month void your rewards status? Has SC clarified that?It was addressed by Rob Boye. Can't find the original post, but there's this: www.studiocalico.com/community/studio-chat/topics/80796-rewards-status-month-to-month-subbers

mdith4him thank you so much for saying that. I know that a lot of people probably think I'm wasting my time and I honestly don't blame them a bit. I probably am lol but like I said, I always have to give it my best go and at least feel that I made my best effort to communicate my feelings. I just figured with how defensive everyone has been feeling lately (and understandably so) a little respect and understanding may help SC to see clearly how we feel (not that I think I can speak for everyone which is why I wanted it to be an open thread and not a conversation, everyone has a voice and deserves to be heard) Again high hopes I know, but it's important to me that I tried. I'd hate to lose the community and products without even trying, but if that's the way it is that's the way it is. Just refreshing to me to see so many members respectfully, honestly, openly, and humbly talk about the issues. Just thought I'd chime in again (it's been a while) & show my support. I think I've said it previously - I just don't have anything further to add, you've each said it all, in your own way. cabrady93 I do think you're wasting your time (now, hear me out) however, that's me. I think you're wasting your time because it won't achieve anything, but if that's how you deal with things, you said you always have to give it your best go - so I say to you - go for it & don't worry what others may think. I'm the kind of person who hates confrontation. If I have a bad meal at a restaurant I won't complain, I'll just leave it all on the plate & never go back. That's what I've chosen to do with SC, except it took me a lot longer constantly getting kicked to the ground, so to speak, before I could come to that decision. It doesn't usually take me that long. About "that" blog - don't go there - it's easy to post anonymously like that. I'd rather have @abr79 or aggiebonfire00 as an enemy any day, than those keyboard warriers. At least I would know where I stand with them & I respect that. I respect that a lot. BTW, I's sorry you got kicked out "expelled" if you like. Neither of you deserved that. cath4k I totally understand how you feel, at this stage of my life, I have so many different stresses that I don't need the stress that that place was causing me even though it's just "paper & glue people" It's paper & glue that I've paid for with my hard-earned after-tax dollars! @abr79 sorry to hear you're so unwell. I'll bet, running your own bakery you can't really take time off can you? I hope you're at least taking it a little bit easier while you're unwell? Anyway, I'm off to meet friends to see a photographic exhibition & then lunch.

oh, one more thing, I did cancel right after the Brimfield Reveal. So glad I did, what with the lack of product in that kit & other recent happenings on the MB. I have absolutely no regrets, which really surprised me! I am so proud of myself. Unlike those of you who got nothing, I did get a couple of "are you sure?" emails & a request for feedback. ha, I must special hahaha No thanks. Not interested. Too little, far too late. I was such a fan & have been there since almost the start. I had lost my mojo a bit with all this shit happening, but am happy to say that I have just now finished unpacking some unused kits & other purchases that I had lying around & I am starting to feel the urge to get scrapping again. I do, however feel sad that I refuse to buy into DD this year, and that I'm even thinking of giving up my AE kits when my commitment is finished (through no fault of AE if you're reading)

With regards to the comments about the high view count, I have no doubt this thread is being monitored, they'd be silly if they didn't. goldenblind221 @skellinton did post on the SC boards that she was starting a thread here, but it might be hidden somewhere in those silly reply things, I don't remember. Going back to the high view count, I am guilty of contributing to that. I check in here quite often, daily if not more often, but I just don't know that I can add to anything that has not already been said, so I don't bother posting. Sometimes I am just speechless, like nothing would surprise me anymore & I have no words! I've also been thinking - would they try to have a go at/threaten anyone on here do you think? (This question requires no answer, but...) which one of you is 'blue' over there, trying to stir the pot?

Anyone here a member? I just got an email from Lain Ehmann inviting me to join. It's $10/month for what sounds like a (happy) online community & the occaisional class here & there & free entry to LOAD 3 times a year. Sounds Ok, I'm just feeling a little sceptical of the SB world ATM. Wish I wasn't.

I'm just about to send in my cancellation as well. I didn't see anything there that I had to have & those preview videos annoy the cr@p,out of me. I've been thinking about it all weekend & thought if I woke up this morning (Mon. here) & still felt the same way, I'd leave now rather than end of the year. I'm sad, but I've had enough. I think my 12 month commitment with Ali's kit is over (I subbed with the first one) I started a convo last night asking about that as well. I'd like to keep it going until my commitment on the stamp kit is over, so I have them both til the end, like I do know. Well, I started the convo & it sure felt good, better than I thought, TBH. Just browsing the web this morning, & I see there are new announcements about different collaborations they are working on (Brene Brown & the ?baby boy bakery). Not sure where they're headed, or if they are just branching out, but I'm out. Think I might hold off on any new subs too, & just use up some of my (not insignificant) stash. This place is now my new SBing home.

I recently inherited one from a friend who was cleaning out her garage, she had never even opened it & neither have I, TBH. I hand-baste a paper pattern to mine or DD's measurements & try that on (inside out so the the seams can be re-pinned) before I cut. definitely recommend a course (or online videos) of how to re-size patterns to fit. It's really not that complicated & saves a lot of heartache. You might also learn how to adjust patterns to create different styles, which is my favourite thing to do.

Oh, and I also cancelled my Story Kit sub. Not because of anything negative or anything - I just need to take a couple months off of kits purchases so I can save some money for a new phone. But, I am still flabbergasted at how Ali has the same customer service as SC because it is night and day different. After I sent my cancellation to SC, the canned response I received may as well have said, "don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out." But the response from Ali actually asked for feedback and thanked me for being part of the community. Even though THAT was probably canned as well, it still felt genuine and made me feel like I was valued. So crazy. I'm just about to send in my cancellation as well. I didn't see anything there that I had to have & those preview videos annoy the cr@p,out of me. I have been a regular taker of classes (just about anything BPC or SC offered), but not so much lately. I understand & totally agree with what you're saying about most stuff being available for free on You tube & such. SC classes have always been light on content, but usually include a kit. Even Sketchbook most times, if not all, included a kit; and of course you got KP on the message boards. I couldn't be bothered searching you tube & listening to some random person's video to be totally honest, though. You'd have to sort through too much crap - no time for that! As for BPC - in it's original format - the classes were very heavy on content & the teachers were active on the Boards - Stacy J, Cathy Z, May Flaum & Ali were just some of the ones who stood out. Sure, there were some that were duds, but on the whole, the classes were certainly worth the money. The new BPC site - not so much, so I don't sub there anymore. They are just too light/gloss over the surface. But for the price, I would not expect any more than that. I am hoping they might offer some decent 'premium content' classes. I am a lot more picky these days about what I purchase, but I do still enjoy the odd Shimelle, May Flaum or Ali class. Stacy's 'Library of Memories' Cathy's 'Design your Life' and May's 'Camp Scrap' & Kit classes are ones that I refer to constantly.

how did you cancel? i tried (by conversation) six days ago to cancel and early this morning my cc was charged for another month. i added another comment to my convo earlier today and i have still not heard anything. am i doing something wrong? kellyv did you have any luck? You don't need to start a convo to cancel. If you go in to your account, there is a button there to click. You'll get a pop-up asking if you're sure, but it is very easy. I promise. I've done it several times now.

Anyone else get those? (Don't mean to hijack your thread lonr) I'm not saying, I feel I have admitted to enough already

What's the name of the collection she is using in that one? I think that's the one where I bought the class, then thought if I used the same papers as her, I might actually get something made. So I ordered, waited for my order & then..... as usual, the motivation passed & who knows where I stashed that order. (somewhere where DH can't find it I'm pretty sure.) confessions of a class hoarder

I haven't read though all the replies yet, but perhaps you could start a casual conservation with your husband about the reason his friend is single? 'He should be out in bars etc, not spending Friday night with you. No wonder the guy is single.' Keep it light hearted. There is something not quite right. Every week is too often IMO

They're calling Australia as well. You owe federal government taxes & if you don't pay immeidately you're going to jail. They'll be around tomorrow to collect you & take you away. yeah right, dead giveaway, our Tax Department doesn't work that quickly. Any Australian knows that.

I've been on the fence about signing up here since everything went down at SC. Mostly because I don't like to comment much. But after today's email about the SC card kit, I've had enough. I was only planning to stay at SC through the Christmas/holiday roll out of product, but now I don't much care. As it was, I already thought the cost of things were a bit high. In fact, I actually share a subscription with a friend (she get's PL and I get the card kit under one use name) so we could split shipping costs. I wasn't as invested in the 2Ps community, as I found them when I first started card making and then they shut down shortly after that. But it appears that SC is on their way out too. Why does buying paper crafts have to be so hard or confusing? I buy stuff online all the time (as I'm sure most people do) and it's not so hard. You find something you like, you add it to your cart, you see how much shipping costs, and then you decide if you're going to pay it or not. Why are there subscriptions and crazy cancellation policies. And don't even get me started on this month to month thing where once you get to see only a snippet of what you're agreeing to pay for you then have a few days to commit or cancel. THAT IS CRAZY! I'm curious as to how long the message board post will last before it gets locked and deleted since now you're not allowed to say anything without being scolded. Sorry, end rant. I had to get it out. I'm excited to join this community! Welcome. Don't be shy. I never posted at the old 2 peas, far too scary. This place is not like that at all.

I ended my PL sub over a year and a half ago. I think this thread is giving SC too much attention personally, I saw let's move on and enjoy our new members nice board. If I had seen this yesterday, I would have absolutely agreed with you. However today is a brand new day, but unfortunately, the same old BS is going on over there. Will they never learn? And then the school mistress like way they lock the thread?? We told you not to do this, but you still did it anyway. Naughty children. ETA: I am enjoying the influx of new members though. Their loss is 2peas refugees' gain.

We are currently in daylight savings time in the vast majority of the US, so remember to take that into account if the clock you're using doesn't automatically for you. I'd hate for you to be an hour off and miss something. Thanks for that. I decided I didn't need to get up in the early hours, so in the end it wasn't a problem. Everything was still available when I logged in, which would have been some 4/5 hours later.
