The site is down, perhaps the new site is on it's way? Who knows anymore? Let's hope it goes smoothly for them!

I am so glad I left there months ago now, have not looked back to be honest. I am with Citrus Twist and love the kits there (Have not used past 3 due to travel but love the kits and look forward to playing with them) CarolineO'Sullivan do you find Citrus Twist to be like the Studio Calico of old? That's what I'm looking for. A nice mixture of all new releases, not just their own lines. Some exclusive elements would be nice but not a deal-breaker. TIA

Complete utter train wreck!!! There is so much conflicting info over there it is crazy! Total bait and switch. I bet they have lost a ton of customers this past year which is why they now have this crazy commitment requirement! I subbed to hip kit club this am, they are a great kit, sadly no exclusives, but great product and lots of it. They also have a great referral program right now and only a 3 month commitment! I'll check them out. If I decide to join, I'll be sure to let you know so you get the benefit then.

I am really troubled by the fact that they want us to make a new commitment. I accept that they can do this going forward. It's their business, their right; but it is just plain unfair to do it to those that have already served their original commitment. Am I the one that is being unreasonable?
I keep telling myself that I'm going to cancel; but I think this time I have no choice, the bundled shipping for internationals was a big part of me keeping my sub as well, & now that's gone too, new international shipping charges will be by weight for extras
It is also starting to bug me that everything in their kits is their own stuff now. They used to have a good cross-section of everything that was out there & now I find myself having to check other online shops for new releases.
I would like to have an open & frank discussion about what all you other subbers are planning to do?

Oh my. I love sewing, love it with a passion. I wish I could have been there to help or even do it for you.
I hate ironing with a passion, hate hate hate. And maths, it makes my brain hurt.

I love this idea & I promise to check-in & cheer you on. My life is kinda crazy right now (elderly parents) so I'll do my best to play along when I can, but I do love this idea & I sure could use the kick start.

Our family faves are a nice creamy potato bake & a caprese salad. Usually a nice fresh salad as well.

I did. I signed up for the free trial & then of course forgot to cancel & paid the next month. I signed up using paypal, which automatically created a recurring payment in Paypal's system. All I did to cancel was to go into paypal & cancel that recurring payment. I didn't contact Big Picture at all. Of course I got a couple of emails from them warning me payment did not go through & I should look into it. Eventually I got an email saying my membership was cancelled. Give it a go, you have nothing to lose. I was a big fan, but for me, there is no content in there worth paying for. I signed up to Ali's email list & May Flaum's & that's plenty for me.

admin, this may not be welcomed, given that you're looking at possibly reducing the number of sub-boards, but I've been wanting to ask if we could perhaps have a sub-board for 'other hobbies or interests' it becomes tiresome going through NSRB looking for quilting or sewing tips.

I am so sorry. Mum landed herself in hospital, so I've had to take care of Dad. I did intend to come back, promise.
I agree with what a lot of the others have said.
The Gold Coast is more vibrant/busy/more people/more shops/more restaurants (& variety of restaurants). All the theme parks (Sea World, Dream World & Movie World are on the Gold Coast. So is Wet'n Wild, but to be honest both Dream World & Sea World have water parks, so we don't tend to go there.
The Sunny Coast is more laid back/casual/relaxed, less busy beaches & lots of great restaurants. Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin) is on the Sunshine Coast, although apart from seeing huge crocodiles being fed, there is nothing to recommend it.
If you want to see Australian animals, I prefer Currimbin Wildlife Sanctuary (Gold Coast) or even Lone Pine (Brisbane)
In July/August, although it is winter, it is often warm enough to have a swim during the day. The beaches will not be at all crowded.
In Brisbane, you can climb the Story Bridge & on the Gold Coast you walk on the outside of the top of the Q1 building.
As far as jellyfish go - box & Irukandji, you can wear a protective suit to guard against being stung.

How sweet, & yes, definitely write it down! My elderly Italian parents,(not to dissimilar to the Greeks) after almost 60 years of marriage have just had to split up due to Dad's ill health, so I'm feeling very sentimental about these things.

voltagain "you were too vague" Yeah, I get that a lot! In all seriousness though, this is very helpful. I use Bridge, I do already use a tagging system. That's easy. It was just setting up the colour labels & star rating systems that I wasn't prepared to commit to. At present, I have a couple of different colours to denote photos that I want to do a major edit versus just a quick brighten up or whatever. So, you use the stars on an individual 'project' or 'shoot' basis, rather than globally across your whole library of photos? Thanks so much for your input. nana2callie sorry for the thread hijack, but hopefully this is answering your question as well?

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm in the process of going through my parents' house. They've just moved to a retirement village. I can't believe some of the stuff I'm finding. Contacting the museum is great advice too. I'll definitely do that.

Oh, this is interesting - so when you register to vote (is that just once or each time there is an election looming?) you have to declare which party you will vote for? Is that so you can only vote on the primaries of that one party & not the other? What happens on the date of the actual election? Can you change your mind & vote for the other party, or do you have to fill in a form like is mentioned above?
Excuse the dumb questions. In Australia voting is compulsory & you register when you turn 18 without making reference to any political party. We don't have primaries, ie we don't directly elect our Prime Minister, he/she is chosen by & from within the party which is elected in to government I have trouble understanding this really -It's hardly a secret ballot if you've registered which party you intend to vote for.

Nothing, except for dust. I can't stand the reflection of anything in the glass. That person with the toys would get a ticket here for sure, it's illegal to have stuff on your dash.

Watching this thread closely. I really need help in this department! what kind of help are you needing? I guess I don't even really know how to answer that. I don't use the star rating system at all right now. I can't figure out how it could help me. Am I being too vague?

Ditto. Sorry. Cream cheese in sauce? No way! Triple ditto...this Italian is gagging...heavy cream...not cream cheese....dear God... Another Italian girl gagging. Ricotta cheese is great, but not as a replacement to cream, it gives a totally different texture.
