ETA A total of 41 things today. Mugs, more ribbon, socks, and clothes.

I stopped on the 18th with 5 extra items and restarted today as we're still (ahem) trying to figure out two proper home office spaces in our 430 sq ft apartment. Joy oh joy! That's the second weekend we're moving furniture, trying to find stuff to get rid and hoping for the best. I think we *finally* figured out the office space in the bedroom now that we've taken down one bookcase (stored under the bed, not getting rid of)! Catching up: 19 + 20 + 21 + 22 - 5 = 77 - 6 cookbooks - 22 paperbacks - 9 hardcovers - 3 binders - 4 albums - 28 page protectors - 1 Project Life value kit - 1 set of ephemera - 1 set of cork embellishments - 1 storage box - 1 set of storage box dividers - 15 DVD/BR - 8 makeup products - 2 makeup brushes - 2 pouches Today's total: 104 (27 to carry over for another day) I'm knackered but also really happy we may finally have found the spot for the larger desk and will be able to work from home a little more comfortably and organised than what we've been doing since March. I'm so over the "nomadic office" I've been using for almost 6 months. Just boxes, my laptop and laptop stand that I keep moving around every day...

I'm WAY behind (and need to scroll back and see what my previous total was) but we dropped off e-recycling at the computer shop today - yay! 3 printers, 3 monitors, 1 tablet, and a dead laptop
so that's 8 more
previous total = 89 + 8 = 98
now I need to do the maths to find out HOW far behind I am
Day 22 should be 253 so I need to find 155 more items today
I think it's time to look at PL type cards...

59 4x6 PL cards to donate
new total is 157
I wonder if there are 96 smaller PL cards I no longer need?
there were 377 smaller PL cards that I probably NEVER needed
(note to self - it doesn't matter how much other people are hyping up a PL kit and how cheap you find it at TM - there will be WAY WAY WAY too many cards and you don't need it)
New total = 534

went through my cut-apart cards and set aside about 100 for donation - now both my PL cards and cut-apart cards fit in the SAME box
also sorted my clear stamps - 12 sets either went to donation or trash (depending on condition) as did my previous storage solution (which I've now replaced)
113 more for a new total of 647

I cleaned out an awkward cabinet in my laundry room yesterday. Stuff in the back gets lost forever.
OMG. I had so many half used bottles of cleaning supplies that were at least 10 years old. I reorganized and used some bins so I can pull the whole thing forward to see what is there.
I am sure I trashed at least a dozen bottles of stuff.

This weekend I purged 50+ scrap items and some acrylic paints. Today I will throw away every sock at the bottom of my laundry basket (I’m guessing 20+), no mercy. And if I have time I’m going to take a bucket of batteries to a place where they can be recycled.

August 23 + 24 today. I tried to part with things that I have a precise idea where/to whom to donate to kick off this declutter round. I reached out to a few people and wait until the donations were accepted and confirmed before proceeding.
Donating to specific people (all sorted): - 5 comic books - 3 Disney DVDs - 8 other DVDs/BR discs - 1 pencil case - 1 backpack - 1 leather pouch - 1 pair of earrings - 1 necklace - 1 leather jacket - 1 ski jacket
Setting aside for Christmas gifts this year: - 1 unused solid bath oil (from Lush gift basket I got for my birthday - we don't have a bath!) - 2 unused bath bombs (from same Lush gift basket) - 1 unused bubble bar (that Lush gift basket, still) - 1 brand new face mask (gift with purchase)
Total: 28 + 27 items carried over from Saturday = 55 (47 to catch up, leaving 8 for tomorrow)

I've fallen off the wagon this past week or so. DH, DD and I have all been unwell with colds. Test results all negative thankfully but I was just so tired all the time. I've still been filling a box in the laundry with random things from all over the house. One thing I've been doing is using up some of the clutter. I buy heaps of scented candles so I've been burning them day and night and recycling the jars. Same thing with all the half used bath products and samples. I also combined several nearly empty shampoos into one bottle. I also discovered we had 3 nearly empty peanut butters and 2 empty almond butters - gotta love kids😋

My 24 items today were DVDs, hangers, craft items, old school stuff, and junk paper.
I thought I’d have trouble as I got closer to end end of the month. But, then again, I also thought I was good about purging clutter so...

Today I went through Old spices and more 12x12 paper. I have a 4” stack of paper that’s going. Between that and the old photos I decluttered I have completed the month. I’m going to keep going but am really happy I could get rid of that much stuff and how simple it was. I constantly declutter so I’m sure there is a ton more. I will still check in with the areas I do each day.
ETA: now I’m at 6” of paper. If I wouldn’t use it right now I’m not keeping it. I’m giving away more than I’m keeping.
Final total 10” of paper going. I kept about 6”

A little bit of digital declutter for me today: - 11 books off my Kindle - 2 apps off m phone - 2 games off my laptop - 12 videos off my phone Total: 27 + 8 from yesterday = 35 (carrying over 10) vsimone I hope you all feel better soon! It stinks being sick, particularly during a pandemic when every cough, every symptom is extra scary. Elsabelle Things, things, things everywhere! I need to check my plastic hangers. I still use some to let clothes dry but there are a few that need to go... Great idea! ecvnj58 I agree that it's actually pretty easy to keep decluttering. Clearly, I'm not as much of a minimalist as I thought I was. Or, rather, minimalism is an ongoing project. Stuff keeps creeping back in all the time... Kudos to you for letting go of so much paper!

Following justjac's lead today. I finished WFH at lunch so had the afternoon off. I was going to lazy around the apartment and chill with some music but instead I headed to my bookcases. I did a deep dust + clean last week and there was already a layer of dust! This drives me mad. I love many aspects of living in a very dry climate but the dust, the dust, the DUST... 2h30 later and I've got 58 books ready to go. Still over 2/3 of my book collection to get through (too. many. books). I opened pages, checked for the paper quality and yellowing, cross-referenced, etc. It's 4PM and I'm knackered. Physical stuff is just such a burden. *heavy sigh* I shan't dare admit the piles of books I left on the bedroom floor. It's a librarian's nightmare in there... Catching up: 26 + 27 + 28 - 10 (carried over) = 71 Catch of the day: 71 - 58 = 13 items left to find I'm taking a break and will see a bit later whether I'm up for more decluttering. Booty needs a reboot right now.
