It's snowing for the 3rd day in a row. We will break our record for October snow in Minneapolis.
I'm hoping to get a photo of my sprinklers being blown out today for the winter!

A quick note on Sweet Autumn which I finally managed to get my grubby paws on and watch last night: it's good. Seal of approval. I enjoyed this. Quoting your earlier post because I got to see the movie. I kept getting distracted so I almost missed the first kiss 10 minutes before secret/betrayal-kiss-time! Very early. I can usually set my watch by the kisses. Lol. Anyway, my ability to focus on TV is bad lately but I enjoyed some fall leaves and maple syrup appreciation. And as you said, an actual interracial couple, and about as many Black people as I believe there actually are IRL in Vermont (a few). I liked the badass motorbike theme, and you were right, actual chemistry. The final kiss was bordering on steamy! I don’t think I’ve actually watched a Hallmark movie all year. Just haven’t been in the right mood to focus. Thanks for recommending this one. Yay, joblackford, back on board just in time for the Christmas extravaganza that starts this weekend! See, I knew we had similar Hallmark tastes with the contract romances and whatnot. Glad you enjoyed this one and that it kept you on your romance TV movie toes as well. The kiss placements, the amount of Black people, the hot final kiss. I mean, Ander Walker went for it and earned his paycheck! Talk about a happy ending... Have you listed any of the 40 (!) new Hallmark Christmas movies for your lazy TV time?

"I'm dreaming of a white Halloween..." How are you coping with all the snow? Did you take out the sled yet? Will you be able to make a snow witch for Halloween? Autumn only started a month ago but winter is already on your doorstep. Kind of incredible.

the hot final kiss. I mean, Ander Walker went for it and earned his paycheck! He really did. I was surprised. Next thing people will allow their lower bodies to touch when they kiss!

We are the (an) Evergreen State but landscapers like to give us a little fall color, so here's an unusually beautiful pin oak that grows near my house. The pathway is a lot higher than the spot where the young tree is planted so I can get some good angles on the leaves as they turn. Also, rare-in-October blue sky. Took a photo of the mountains today. My poor kid grabbed his shoes around 1:00p.m., sat on the stairs and stared at me. He loves his car rides. After picking up my daughter from work, we drove on some country roads.

Forgot to add I watched The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947). I can't explain why, but I get sucked in every time.

Currently sticking down photos and picking cards. I think I'll be almost caught up with my OD by the end of the night. For the Nightmare Before Christmas fans, here's a 1950s style Oogie Boogie dress (and I want it!):

I tried a bit of coffee table scrapping sleepingbooty style. Considering changing my user name to NumbBum now. I'm assuming ImTooOldForThis is taken. But seriously, making a little progress... yesterday on the horror story/nightmare that is the virus diaries. Stuck right around the TrumphasCovid period. Today I'm catching up on my Halloween journal. Lots of photo printing. Not sure where the last 10 days disappeared to.

joblackford @zingermack refugeepea You ladies are having full-on autumn foliage. Very pretty! It's still quite green in my nook. I managed to capture a (shitty, let's be honest) photo of some leaves turning yellow in the past few days but that's about it. *pouts* joblackford 'Tis a tingly buttocks affair, my dear! I can't resist the coffee table but I've got to say it comes with its downsides (literally)... Hope the NumbBum is back to normal today. I did something today. I finally (more like FINA-FREAKIN'-LY) printed + cut the journaling strips for the first 20-ish days of my album. I always leave it way too late. I've stuck down the strips for about half of the month, rearranged some numbering of the days, reprinted a couple of photos where something went wrong (please don't ask). I'm getting there! I have some fully completed spreads. Besides the punching of holes but let's just ignore that for now... Almost there, HUZZAH! (channeling my inner Tiana)

I'm not sure if I'll make the second booklet smaller or what, because there's no way I will fill the second booklet with this Halloween week's "events," especially because we're not actually doing anything for Halloween. This is the downside of this style of album. I'll figure it out. I have plans B, C and D in mind. Anyway, why didn't everyone tell me years ago that I needed to watch ParaNorman and Frankenweenie?!?! ❤️ Also, that picture of the dolls with open mouths - my life is a horror story! That's a bin of "Carolers" my collector MIL wasted $1000+ on in the 90s. I'll be lucky to get $100 for them now. Limited edition junk. ugh. I also have murky brown water to drain out of snow globes. yuck yuck yuck.

Anyway, why didn't everyone tell me years ago that I needed to watch ParaNorman and Frankenweenie?!?! ❤️ We didn't? Did we at least tell you about the Hotel Transylvania movies? I've gone into full-on regressive mode as well this October and watched way more child-friendly than horror movies. Next up: Mickey's House of Villains. Love how your first notebook turned out, joblackford. Very aesthetically pleasing. You did so well with Ghost Stories. The powder blue pumpkin is making my heart skip a beat. The open-mouthed dolls not so much. Yikes. They look like sex dolls for gnomes or something. Vade retro Satana! The tomato blood ketchup is top notch marketing. Made me think of Dexter immediately (and the reprise news from earlier this month, yay). That morning routine intro is still etched in my mind with the tomato ketchup splatter on the eggs. Ah, good times!

We didn't? Did we at least tell you about the Hotel Transylvania movies? The first one is up next! Thanks for the reminder. I had $1.50 credit on Amazon for some promotion or other so I can watch for frreee. I wonder if I've done enough work for today... maybe one more thing and then I'll sit down for my movie time with popcorn. Thanks for the love on the album. And for the image of sex dolls for gnomes. Like I wasn't already horrified enough by them!

Maybe they're in the US Netflix catalogue? Definitely don't pay for the second one. It's really more background movie to iron or craft material. You're so welcome for the gnome sex doll image, my pleasure! Forget clowns, the open-mouthed dolls freak me out. ETA: Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is also an excellent Halloween (re)watch.

Definitely don't pay for the second one. It's really more background movie to iron or craft material. Thanks for the advice. Don't worry, I won't be watching any more! I liked Hotel Transylvania, it was cute, but I could tell the sequels would just be cashing in. TBH my favorite part was all the concept art at the end behind the credits rolling. Such beautiful spooky pictures. But yeah, the movie was fun and silly. Totally worth burning my promo credit - the low quality rental was only $1.49, so I got it free. I looked everywhere and Hulu and Netflix were both lacking almost all of the movies I wanted to watch. Very annoying. I didn't mind paying to rent Frankenweenie yesterday, but it erks me that The Corpse Bride and several other older films are only available for rental. I'm assuming that there's a lot more choice available on Disney+ but I have enough services already. BTW did anyone know that they re-made The Witches with Anne Hathaway??! I think it was scheduled for a Halloween 2020 release, but I'm not sure if it got delayed until next year. I came across pictures while I was searching for images for my journal. The 80s version was pretty bad. I can't imagine a new version will be much better, but who knows?

I didn't mind paying to rent Frankenweenie yesterday, but it erks me that The Corpse Bride and several other older films are only available for rental. There are some weird deals happening between Disney and VOD providers. I can see a few Burton movies on Netflix France right now that are Disney productions including Corpse Bride but others are limited to Disney+ France. I just... Doesn't make sense, does it? BTW did anyone know that they re-made The Witches with Anne Hathaway??! I think it was scheduled for a Halloween 2020 release, but I'm not sure if it got delayed until next year. Yep, that's why the old Witches movie landed on Netflix earlier this year. I love this sort of vintage cross-promotion marketing. The 2020 movie is out now in the US as a rental on HBO Max. I'm not sure when it'll land here. I see nothing scheduled for cinemas (and they'll likely be closing down again soon anyway). We don't have HBO Max in Europe. And there's the release chronology law of France to consider, too (shouldn't be available for streaming less than 3 years after it's initial release in theatres).
