On the “why not share your location” thread, many peas alluded to privacy violations from other members. I’ve heard the story about Mrs. Tyler, but what else has happened? What else is in our pea history?

There are threads (from the old board) saved for posterity on the front page. I haven't really read them, I just know it's there. I must take the time to read one of two and have a trip down memory lane. 2peasrefugees.boards.net/board/7/history-peas

A pea passed away who had questionable posting styles... her son came in on her screenname to let us know she had passed and we as a board was her happy place.... and thanks for giving his mom friendship.... *we* were not nice to him... said it was really her and faking her death...

Several Peas have been “recognized” by people they know IRL. I don’t remember specifics, but it convinced me a long time ago that oversharing is a bad idea. It only takes one nutter in a group of good people to cause problems.

I still miss carblover. She posted a vent about a family event, and someone emailed a link to a family member. The board should have been a safe space to vent, but someone violated that.

My "favourite" (sarcasm!) one is about Skybar - the batshit crazy super duper religious zealot, anti-Obama woman that most people disliked - suddenly stopped posting, there were the usual "where is Skybar?" threads, which predictably morphed into "I hope she's OK" threads (which is just a polite way of wondering if someone is dead)
Then someone posted that they knew she was divorced and knew who her lawyer was (I don't remember exactly how someone knew the lawyer, but there was some link) so a bunch of people seemed to think it was perfectly acceptable to contact Skybar's divorce lawyer from several years earlier and get him to do a 'welfare check' because a bunch of curious women on a message board wanted to know if she was dead or not.
I think it was the most harebrained plan I had ever heard and said so (even though I personally hated the woman, I still defended her right to privacy) but people kept saying "oh we just want to make sure she is OK" Lord knows what that lawyer would have thought - "Hi...we post on an anonymous message board on the internet and there's this lady we think might have carked it and even though we aren't friends and we don't like her, the curiosity is killing us...well, you did her divorce several years ago, so could you just pop over to her house and see if she's still alive?"

pjaye - I didn't know whether to laugh or cry but that crazy, relatable story, presented with hilariously unkind eloquence deserves a high-five. You should be on the stage.

How about the collecting money for a transplant and then going to Disneyland one? I remember her. I think it was for her second transplant because she destroyed her first one by having a baby. She was actually nice and I felt somewhat bad for her.

Well, I haven't been around super long, but there is some batshit crazy stuff happening over on the scrapbooking thread in regards to TH and some other lady and she's accusing someone of impersonating her...you cannot make this insanity up.

How about the collecting money for a transplant and then going to Disneyland one? I totally forgot about that one! I can picture her face, but can't remember her name. Promgate, oh lordy. And I must have left the board before the whole Skybar-gone-missing thing happened. When I found this board, there were a few names that would have stopped me from signing up. Skybar was one of them. Remember the pea whose husband was a pastor and they were divorcing? He wanted his ties and Peas were sending him ties from all over as a "take that!" to him. Random, weird memory that just popped into my head.

The transplant lady was Liz something. Also many years ago there was Lady Stars. She was super active and posted multiple times a day. She always had a tale of woe. One day she posted that her husband was painting the inside of vacant house and found one of those scrapbook things on wheels full of supplies. He brought it home for her and she was thrilled. Her tales of poverty finally got to the peas and they generously sent her money because she only had a "crust of bread" at home to feed her kids. Some peas sleuths found her on the internet and outed her as a fraud. What about Brown Eyed Peas and her message board? Lots of peas posted some pretty nasty stuff about 2 Peas and someone copied and pasted it and posted it on 2 Peas. All hell broke out. ETA: Fixed sloths.

how about the girl who posed as a military wife and her honey was deployed,,, and then she got cancer and got turned out she was all fake and used a picture of a hooker or something to show people who she was..she was trying to get money out of the peas. She was laying the groundwork for her ruse for quite a while.... and she was totally fake and we all busted her... those were the good ol days lol. Peas have always been great detectives

I am the worst at posting typos since I rarely reread what I write, but I have never posted anything that great. My favorite pea story is the French teenagers. I don’t remember who it was because I never remember people’s names but someone who was normally pretty ok started posting crazy and mean stuff. Later on she came back and claimed some French Teenagers got on her computer and were posting as her. Around my house whenever anyone does anything out of the ordinary or awful we blame the French Teenagers. That one was just so ludicrous, I believe she left after that, but other peas will remember more details.

I'll admit that I read the Meat Blog occasionally but I never posted to it. They actually mentioned me once and I felt that I finally got full pea status. You weren't a real pea until they trashed you on the Meat Blog.

There was also the time the secret Garden Girl board was made public and all their rude posts about the scrapping peas were exposed. that was a bad glitch. I think the message board was very hard for Kristina to control. I can understand how hard it all was for her. She had to vent somewhere and somehow. Can you imagine how all consuming 2 peas was for her and her family. It was huge and hard. I am not condoning what was said. Can you imagine the customer service nightmare 2 peas was? It was the biggest best SB website in the history of scrapbooking. I cant imagine controlling that beast and I cant imagine it not being frustrating. I was a garden girl at one time, but I cant remember if I was still a gg when it happened. I have empathy. WE were monsters on nsbr lol No-one could contain that beast! lol

I think everyone felt bad for her because her son ended up being very premature and was in the hospital for a long time. Plus she needed another transplant.
