I really did try to get stuff out on time. My aunt who lives TEN MINUTES AWAY FROM ME (forgive the shouting!) got her Christmas card the day before Christmas. We mailed things the first week of December. I really do <3 the idea of a birthday list or just permission to send people on our list a card 'just because.' I also had another thought.... would it save work for the organizers if we, when sign up, just but 'returning, no changes?' - I am thinking of speeding up the data base process. I know that when we get our church bulletin updated, we only submit if we have a changes in our contact info. It would also mean we could start mailing stuff early if we think we need to.

Mine will get there!
We have a huge bottleneck here with the postal service. They still have buildings full of mail.
I sent to EVERYONE that was on the list I received, including international.

Hi girls! One last note from me about our card exchange. I feel like it was a success, and it sounds like many of you do too! I feel like I got to know many of you better as a result ❤️ gemini_jen and I have talked and are willing to host the exchange again next year if there is interest. I’ll post the exchange and it’s updates, and Jen will completely take over the compiling and sharing the list of participants. This should minimize any little hiccups with distribution like we had this year. I personally preferred the smaller size of the card exchange, and if you all are in agreement we’ll cap it at 50-60 participants next year. Again, these decisions aren’t mine to make, so please share your thoughts about any changes you think would be helpful for next year’s card exchange. Thanks and Happy New Year!

This size group was doable, without being overwhelming. I would definitely participate next year.

I LOVED the card exchange and would definitely do it again. The reason that I have never participated in the larger exchanges is since you don’t have to send to everyone, I felt like as a lesser active pea, it might unintentionally end up being somewhat of a popularity contest and I wouldn’t be one of the recognized names. I did send to everyone, but wasn’t expecting nearly the number of cards that I received. I think that’s because of the limit on the number of participants. Obviously it will never be 100% because, well, that’s a lot of cards and also because of the cost for the international peas, which you were awesome to arrange their postage. I’d be happy to help with that next year as well. For this year, it was a great experience for me! melody

I know there was another thread started for a big birthday exchange, which is wonderful. But if we had our 56 and the other group’s 100+, I’m not sure I’d want to do that. As melodyesch said, I wouldn’t want to pick and choose who to include and who to leave out. I’d rather it was just smaller groups. That’s my 2 cents!

I'll bump the birthday card thread tomorrow, but as of now, there's not enough interest to go forward with it. So if a few more do sign up, I don't think we would need to worry about having too many people.

This was my first card exchange. I am so glad I participated and enjoy looking at the cards every day. I am grateful for everything that MichyM and Gemini_jen did to organize it and be responsive to the opinions of the participants. I thought the size was perfect and hope it is limited to 50-60 next year. I look forward to signing up again next year.

I just want to add that it truly was no big deal (on my part) to just facilitate the exchange, I promise. And while thank you is so nice to hear, y’all can stop any time now 😊 I appreciate the genuine kindness and warm wishes expressed, as well as the virtual hugs I’ve felt from so many over the last couple of months!

All mine except for one was delivered by Christmas Eve. I ordered LEGO’s for my nephews birthday back in November and nothing.

Ok, I am all for limiting the size of the exchange. But how would that work? Would it be first come, first served? Would the peas who have been in this year have first dips? I could see a case where the exchange fills up before some peas that were in it this year get a chance to sign up.
My thinking on it is that the peas that were in it this years would have a chance to join first and then fill up with others that might want to join?
What do y'all think?

The cards keep rolling in! Four today and one Saturday. Three of today's cards had a postmark of 12/7 so, if that is any indication of the mailing time for my cards, you should be seeing them soon. And a special note to papercrafteradvocate, I-O.

What if we say the list is 55 people. Then, let as many people sign up as want to participate. THEN, if you get over 55, you can split the list in two? THEN, if a person wants to join both lists, it’s first come, first served until the list makes it to capacity? That would be a little more admin work, but would not limit participation, but would keep the list(s) reasonable.

My whole point was to keep the list from this year together. But what everyone wants to do is ok with me.

It would be really lovely to make sure that every Pea who participated this year and wants to participate in next year’s card exchange has a spot.
So, I could post a *reminder* thread about a week before the official card exchange thread goes up. During that week’s time, if you want a spot just PM me directly for a link to the sign up. Then I’ll post the sign up link for all Peas to see inside the *official* thread once it goes live. Clear as mud?
Does that work for everyone? That way it’s on each of you to follow through rather than making additional work for me. Let me know what you think!
