looks at my stash - yeah - I need to freeze in 2022 also (and the end of 2021). I haven't really been buying much though but I also haven't been scrapping much either. I MIGHT need adhesive or page protectors or white cardstock but I even have a stash of albums (2 regular, 2 travel) so unless I get scrapping....I won't need albums.

I'm going to continue chilling next year too. I had a couple of splurges that I haven't even started using yet, my half-started WIP box is still full, and my crafty time is still limited, so I'll be trying to use what I've got.
I think I need to hide most of the brands and DT people I follow on my crafty IG. The endless parade of new products is tempting and it also gets me down - I often feel out of step and behind when I see too much of what other people are making. In some ways it's a good reminder that there's always another new product about to be released.

I would like to chill for the remainder of this year and into next.
I’m to the point where I have so much stuff I’ve run out of room to store things. I feel a bit ridiculous even saying it. I was expecting a move in less than 3 years that will likely only be in 18 months. I would much rather downsize than pack and move it all, so I’m on a “use it or lose it” course for the foreseeable future!
I’m currently resisting the urge to buy VB Fernwood. I’m not going to buy it!!!!!

I did fall off the wagon for the FJ Christmas kit. That's it for me!

I’ve managed to stay frozen for five weeks. I have some Simple Stories Home & Hearth preorder items coming to me soon. Hopefully that will keep my happy for a while. I will stock up when Tape Jungle has a sale but other than that I don’t need or even really want anything new right now. Besides the adhesive I don’t see any more scrappy purchases this year. I’m surprisingly content with that and my stash right now.

I keep falling off the wagon. Just some cardstock and adhesive for a project. So far....

I agree, some items are consumables and I don't count those. I ordered some albums yesterday. I really stocked up before the pandemic and need to have a few more now.

I need to start wrapping up the year and think about freezing next year.
My exceptions - page protectors, adhesive, staples for my mini stapler, white cardstock, photo paper.
To-Do's *Buy 2022 Album. *Set myself up with page protectors.

I will definitely be back in the freezer next year. A local store is having a sale which started tonight so I've ordered the last album I need for a project and a box of page protectors, although I did throw in some fun stuff with my order too.
I still need to buy albums for next year, so I'm hoping sb.com have a freebie I like while their current sale is on, but if not I'll likely buy the albums anyway.

I have definitely thawed a bit this month, but my spending has been way less than earlier in the year, so I'm still happy. One thing I'm doing is what I heard about on a podcast called Unsubscribe Sunday (except I started early.) Since pretty much every company who has my email is letting me know what sales they have, I am going through and unsubscribing to them. Goodbye Crafters Companion, Heartfelt Creations, and even Simon Says Stamp. And more.

I’m having that twinge of worry that I’m losing out on some great deals in stuff I “need” right now… but then I remember that I haven’t even touched the Doodlebug stuff I bought a couple of months ago and only used half of the stamp/embossing folder supplies I got with a gift card a few weeks ago.
I have unsubscribed from most brands and have a couple that I have sorted straight out of my inbox before I see them. Instagram is still relentless though, even the brands I don’t follow seem to find me.

I was frozen for nearly 8 weeks which is a long time for me. I placed an order on cheapscrapbookstuff.com today. They have a 25% off code FRIDAY25 on top of their usual 10% off. I couldn’t resist. I is m going to shoot for another 8 weeks and see how I feel. Maybe I can stretch it to 10.

I'll admit the idea of freezing for a whole year scares me slightly, but I feel like 8 weeks is definitely doable. I've just bought the last of the albums and page protectors I need for next year, and I've made some BF purchases which I didn't need but fully intend to enjoy when they arrive, so I think I'm going to aim to stay frozen until the end of Jan.

Great goal! I know that I wouldn’t stay frozen for a year. I like the idea of it but I don’t want to set myself up to feel disappointed in myself. Shopping for scrappy supplies is just as fun as using them to me but I can do a better job of limiting how often I shop.

Shopping for scrappy supplies is just as fun as using them to me but I can do a better job of limiting how often I shop. I'm definitely the same way. I shopped very little in the first 8 months of this year, really considered those couple of purchases and have gotten good use out of the stamp sets I bought. I love the looking, imagining what I make with all the new things as they are released, and the joy of having parcels on their way to me, but the first half of this year really showed me it's about quality over quantity of shopping. I spent so long trying to build up my stash with lots of basics, usable b sides and classic patterns, that I've found it hard to break the habit of adding them all the my cart even though I no longer need to add those to my stash.

Someone please remind me that just because I like something and could use it doesn’t mean I need it!

Someone please remind me that just because I like something and could use it doesn’t mean I need it! Is it possible to make it a Christmas or holiday gift? I made a wishlist at scrapbook.com and shared it with DH for Christmas. I want the VB Fernwood stuff badly and although I am technically frozen, DH still wants to get me some stuff for Christmas. This was a good compromise!

This was a good compromise! It is! Except that my money is his money so we don’t actually bother with gifts, we just buy what we want and need. I have a lot more issues with storage space and energy to use things than money. I hope you enjoy your VB Christmas surprise

Went through my stuff and took pictures of my stash this morning. When the 2022 thread is posted, I'm going to log it all so I can keep track of what I use.
I'm also planning on putting all my, "empties" in a bin throughout a year. Emptied up sticker sheets, kit remnants, any paper pad covers, so that I can SEE what is getting used up.

That's an excellent idea. Can you be a bit more detailed about the picture taking process? Are you photographing in broad categories like a stack of paper/pads/collection kits etc... or in smaller categories like here are all my individual collection kits?

I have too much stuff and I wanted to get the gist of it and not flame out halfway through the picture taking. I took a broad picture of all my paper pads. Pic of all my kelly purkey swag bags laid out. pic of all my in tact Citrus Twist kits together pic of all my Paper Person kits together - unopened it bc I've been trying to use up older stuff a picture of my box of stickers - i'll just compare in a year if it looks like there are less stickers it. Same for my container of Project life/pocket page journaling and filler cards. Pictures of odds and ends. pic of my iris box of december daily supplies pic of my iris box of halloween supplies I didn't want to get too nitpicky. I just want to be able to see a difference in my stash a year from now. I'll link the album when I upload the photos. My phone is syncing with my google photos folder now.

@cumber1137 - thank you! That sounds not too difficult to achieve and an awesome way of seeing progress. Adding stash photos to my December to-do list. And I'll share mine also for accountability.

I just want to be able to see a difference in my stash a year from now. I think this is a great idea, I know I found it really motivating once I could see the space in my journaling card and my paper storage. I hope you have a successful year of using things up!
