I admire your strength and courage. I just want to give you a big hug.

To be honest, I feel like the overwhelming amount of peas who participate on political thread feel this way. Unfortunately there are a few who are much louder and crass who drown out those voices.

Abortion declines under democratic presidents. If you cared about that issue you would vote for Democrats.

We constantly say the conservatives on here don’t have the spine to state their opinions, but then some (not all) of us do jump immediately to name calling and irrational responses. I am known to curse and scream and rant at my social media and my tv but I try to have civilized discussions when I am actually having a political conversation with people who think differently than me. Today, for instance, when my SIL called, I told her I could not talk to her because I knew I would lose it on her. That gets me nowhere.

Responding to OP:  Meh. I don't argue with children so I'll just say an equal number of liberals can say the exact same thing about Republican attacks.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic.  His actions have been entirely predictable.  He was a terrible business person, he cheats at golf, he’s a bully, he’s a narcissist and he has not hidden his personality.  During the 2016 we saw exactly who he is.  If you were paying attention, it was abundantly clear that he would be a disastrous president.  Even today was somewhat predictable.  

No one could have predicted covid, but it was obvious that he is incapable of leadership and that he would handle any crisis badly.

And the science marchers a few weeks later. Before there was a pandemic he was already saying science was bogus and climate change was a hoax. Sound familiar? It was a already a shit show way back then

Yes, there were. And they all ran out of money and/or support.  The party was blinded by the "celebrity" in the running. The prevailing wisdom then was "how bad could he be"?  

Well, it's somewhat sarcastic. So . . . 

I'm not brushing it off, I'm just sick to death of the people who are hopping on the train now after a few years of complacency.  No one, and I mean, NO ONE had a clue that this is where we would end up. I don't care what kind of crystal ball you had.  so, beating and bashing the 2016 voters is disingenuous at best.

And, no. I didn't vote for him in 2016 either - since people here love to call motives into question.  

The level of armchair quarterbacking is astounding.

We may not have known it would be this bad, but we still knew that he was not fit to lead a Boy Scout Troop and that his tenure as POTUS would be disastrous. Why is there an issue holding people responsible for their votes, especially when so much compelling evidence was available well before the election?

A real quick google search would prove you WRONG.  No crystal ball needed, Hillary knew.
