I didn't vote for Biden because I don't support abortion at will and without parental consent. I own it. Please tell me how any anti-abortion candidate has done anything to stop abortion? You know when the numbers of abortions go down, when Democrats are in charge because they support access to health care, birth control, and education. Pro-life politicians are lip speak. They just have to talk about it to get one issue voters like you to vote for them. Because Pro-Life politicians are really pro-control-women’s-bodies-above-all-else politicians. Research has well documented that the way to lower abortion rates is through the things you listed: access to health care, birth control and sex education.

As a rape survivor for years by my step father however I wish you would reconsider your position. I admire your strength and courage. I just want to give you a big hug.

Not in reference to the other thread, but it has been said countless times here that our issues are mostly not with conservatives, but with Trump supporters. There is a distinction. To be honest, I feel like the overwhelming amount of peas who participate on political thread feel this way. Unfortunately there are a few who are much louder and crass who drown out those voices.

Abortion declines under democratic presidents. If you cared about that issue you would vote for Democrats.
I am not sure what you are looking for here.

I appreciate your being willing to explain your stance.
We constantly say the conservatives on here don’t have the spine to state their opinions, but then some (not all) of us do jump immediately to name calling and irrational responses. I am known to curse and scream and rant at my social media and my tv but I try to have civilized discussions when I am actually having a political conversation with people who think differently than me. Today, for instance, when my SIL called, I told her I could not talk to her because I knew I would lose it on her. That gets me nowhere.

Responding to OP: Meh. I don't argue with children so I'll just say an equal number of liberals can say the exact same thing about Republican attacks.

Who could have known that an immoral, corrupt, unintelligent, unabashedly dishonest, poor businessman, racist, misogynistic, who despises half the people of this country would have been such a bad leader and our country would have suffered greatly? Come on now. Really? Yeah, I absolutely thought he would, millions upon millions did and voiced that. The reason it is as bad as it is has to do with the GOP. They should have stopped this shit a long time ago and have only enabled him. That I didn’t expect.

His actions have been entirely predictable. He was a terrible business person, he cheats at golf, he’s a bully, he’s a narcissist and he has not hidden his personality. During the 2016 we saw exactly who he is. If you were paying attention, it was abundantly clear that he would be a disastrous president. Even today was somewhat predictable. No one could have predicted covid, but it was obvious that he is incapable of leadership and that he would handle any crisis badly.

It was a already a shit show way back then

We knew what trump was about before he was first elected. He was bad then. Yes, there were. And they all ran out of money and/or support. The party was blinded by the "celebrity" in the running. The prevailing wisdom then was "how bad could he be"?

I think comments like this only minimize what a truly vile human being he is, and it feels (to me) like you’re brushing it off. Well, it's somewhat sarcastic. So . . . I'm not brushing it off, I'm just sick to death of the people who are hopping on the train now after a few years of complacency. No one, and I mean, NO ONE had a clue that this is where we would end up. I don't care what kind of crystal ball you had. so, beating and bashing the 2016 voters is disingenuous at best. And, no. I didn't vote for him in 2016 either - since people here love to call motives into question. The level of armchair quarterbacking is astounding.

BULLSHIT! It should have ended HERE! Well, of course it should have. I'm going out on a limb, all you people that are fans of reality TV, judgement shows, pitting people against one another, enjoying a show where people are shamed and publicly "fired" . . . . what did you think would happen when that culture ended up in the White House? EDIT - not sure why the post quote won't show, I only have one person blocked and it isn't this poster

We may not have known it would be this bad, but we still knew that he was not fit to lead a Boy Scout Troop and that his tenure as POTUS would be disastrous. Why is there an issue holding people responsible for their votes, especially when so much compelling evidence was available well before the election?

FWIW, who could have know it would turn out to be such a shit show? And please, with the "we told you!" No way you could have known either. Um. We knew. Just because someone didn’t listen, or research even the TINIEST DAMN BIT before casting their vote doesn’t mean they couldn’t have known, either. The information has been readily available for years.

Yeah.
All the Trump-voting peas left here years ago - years ago - due to arm chair quarterbacking today. All of our comments about the disaster Trump is TODAY caused them to leave 3+ years ago?
And again, what do you think the MILLIONS of people who marched around the world on January 21, 2017 were marching about if not the clusterfuck we knew Trump would be?
