🙄 False equivalence. I didn't question why you didn't use your real name. I questioned why you didn't use your usual 2peas name.

So many photos we've never seen or are not old enough to have seen the first time around. I saw this for the first time today: Queen Elizabeth with Jackie Kennedy & Caroline...and Prince Philip is holding the hand of John Jr. taken during the inauguration of Britain's Kennedy memorial at Runnymede in 1965. It did make me a bit misty eyed that he took the time to hold the hand of a little boy who didn't have a father

This photo was released yesterday and I think it's so lovely...apparently a favourite of the Queen's. It's going to be a tough day for her

I agree gar It really is going to be tough on her with the whole world watching her. She'll make a very sad figure in that church sitting on her own. The tributes that have surfaced over the last week or so have been overwhelming. So many people from all walks of life spoke so highly of him and his unenviable ability of putting everyone at their ease and treating no one differently be it the upper class of society or the ordinary man in the street, from the old to the very young. He really was a remarkable man.

@dottyscrapper, I feel like I've learned more about him in recent days than I have known before...his pioneering work with the WWF before conservationism was 'trendy' and so on...there was definitely more to him than was widely known I think.

One of the last of a generation where men 'just did' without fanfare or the need for plaudits.

It’s been amazing hasn’t it. So many things he quietly just got on with with no fanfare.

I'm watching. Princess Anne does look quite upset. Same for Prince Charles.
Seeing the Queen walk into the chapel was so sad. She just looked so old and frail.
Poor Peter Phillips. He has a tense spot in the procession!

Just having 4 singers adds some poignancy somehow.

I am having a hard time seeing her face with her mask, but who is the woman with two children sitting between Charles and William?

Oh it’s so sad. The Queen looks so much more frail! How strange to see so few people in the chapel. It must feel surreal for the Royal Family.

Also, I was wondering if Harry and William were thinking about the last time they walked behind a coffin And the fact Harry recently got married there, must bring back so many memories for him.

I didn’t recognise David Armstrong Jones initially.

I thought about the recent wedding too and I’m sure following the coffin brought back those memories. I feel sorry that Harry is ‘alone’ here.

I am glad they are not keeping a spotlight on the Queen during this ceremony. It must be so hard for her - it's lonely enough to be in the position of Queen; having a husband by her side all these years had to be her only solace in difficult times.

I didn’t recognise David Armstrong Jones initially. I didnt either and had to look him up. I knew he'd be there but could not place his face. Had to a process of elimination.

I’m finding it all so very moving and more intimate if that’s the right word. Truly saying goodbye to a family man rather than the life position he had in public.
I think Peter Phillips would have been in that position whatever the circumstance was as he’s the eldest grandson. Today the Monarchy protocol wouldn’t be considered.
