Have fun this weekend friends! I am slowly working my way through the card classes from October. I have been following the book, I havent watched any of the videos. I will tell you that some are way better at organizing the steps than others, and some are way too wordy for what needs to be done lol Maybe the videos would have helped, but I dont have the time most nights to watch a 1 hr video then work on cards.

Today's the day everyone! I've got the day off so I can finish up some of the homework and videos of the meet and greets I missed. I'm going to decorate my camper (where I'm going to hide from DH and the dogs so I don't get interrupted) this morning and settle in for a fun weekend! I'm so excited! We have unexpected out-of-town guests this weekend, so I will now have to do my classes next weekend . Have fun, everyone!!! Well that's a bummer. I'm sorry. I hope you have fun with the guests at least.

I just watched the Therm O Web video and made their little project and now I want to foil all the leaves! I really didn't realize how easy it could be using adhesive foam. I'm going to have to figure out how to post pictures so I can share the projects here...

If you can, try watching the class videos on YT at 1.5 or 2x speed! You can always slow it down and rewind if you need to watch something more closely. It made it much easier for me to get caught up.

The foil leaves were a lot of fun. I loved how easy it was! The blending with the markers was interesting. I’ve never known how to use those kind of markers and I’m happy I was taught that today. I just made the little holiday album. Although it is so stinking cute, I felt overwhelmed because I have not made anything like that in such a long time. I was fumbling with my scissors, adhesive and don’t even get me started on the measuring and scoring 🤣🤣🤣 My skills are so rusty! It was really fun though. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

I watched/skimmed through videos today and I love those foiled leaves, too! I need to find them a home within my gratitude/thankful 30 mini. The Doodlebug Christmas mini is nothing like my style but I think it would make for a cute pull out in my DD this year. Maybe for a super busy day? Idk but I'll find a home for it. Life happened and things came up for me tomorrow morning so I'll make it to the opening but will unfortunately have to catch the classes on rewatch later in the afternoon I hope you guys all have a great time! Between this and Ali's DD prep party I think lots of craftiness will be happening tomorrow.

Lol justjac, that’s the one I finished too! I got Megan’s class started, but wanted to change titles and layouts for my photos. Then Vicki’s class of course…I got as far as she did but they are fun layouts and my style.

I found a picture for this one. I’m never sure what to do with Paige Evans collections. They seem busy to me, but I love this. I just need to use them with more cardstock.

Oh justjac, your pages are gorgeous! Love how they turned out. Question: did you cut out the middle of that quilt look background piece like she did? Or use the whole page?

I ended up skipping all of yesterday so I'll work on those classes throughout the week and this morning.. I got through half the video and ended up taking the majority of the time to decorate 1 notebook 🙃😂 There's SO MUCH leftover product I need an entirely new wheelie cart to store everything. My mom and I have been having so much fun, but I a, having a hard time navigating Facebook. Where is the video for the love layout? At the top of the group you'll see a row that says "about, discussion, guides, etc" if you click 'guides' they've made it easy for us to find everything where each day is separated with links to everything that went on. If you scroll down to Saturday's section the Simple Stories layout is the one titled "Happily Ever After with Jana from Simple Stories!" ^.^

I'm not keeping up with classes because they projects are too specific - I need to alter things to fit my style and my photos. However, the bonus classes seem just right for me! I made this card from angie blom's image (printed out for us to colour). I'm KICKING MYSELF that I didn't scan the image before I coloured it because I would have made 10 of these cards - I love how it turned out! IRL, this is quite shimmery because I added silver liquitex ink to my smooshed ink pads before I watercoloured. justjac - if you haven't coloured yours yet, scan it in and send me a copy??? card falala ornaments by kirstendrew, on Flickr I also finished Paige Evans' because it was so nice and generic - changed it up as I went and really like the result! layout wild friendship by kirstendrew, on Flickr

That card is awesome, kitbop! What colours of ink did you use? I have not coloured mine yet. If I don’t remember to snap a pic and send it to you once I am home, please give me a nudge. Off to Flickr to leave some love.

grammadee I did not cut the centre out of my paper. I never get it straight when I do that. If you decide to, there was a mistake in the instructions and you are supposed to cut out a ten inch square so your frame is an inch on both sides. I prefer Victoria’s way of doing things from the last class. She was like, “You could just cut two one inch strips, but I have lots of paper, so I just cut two six inch pieces and layered it under the other two pieces!” kitbop I haven’t coloured mine yet, so I can get you a copy.

We got through the four main classes, will do the extras this weekend. We loved the TN project and the VB class a whole lot. We both learned some really cool things in that one. The stencil stamping trick was like magic to me. I loved that background so much I didn't cover it up like she did, I just put some pictures down. I didn't want to cover up how pretty it was.. I like the VM project, but didn't feel like I learned anything. I could have just copied the layouts without the class and been done in 30 minutes.
We definitely have a lot of stuff left over, which is fun, but I wouldn't mind more one hour classes and less of the getting to know you stuff.
It was a lot of fun though and I am glad we participated. Makes me miss all day crops.

Love this! Paige’s LOs are often way too pink for my taste, but she has some great patterns in other colors (love the blues in that pad). I really like this page design - great way to use 6x6 pads!

I liked the projects, and the supplies were my favorite of the weekend (not a huge AC fan, and the other three classes were all AC product), but I didn’t learn anything. And the ten minutes of hellos, reading comments, and chatting at the beginning annoys me. I learned cool stuff in Layle’s class, and love that she had some list topics, but will need to use different product to work on the TNs since I’m not very excited about that Jen Hadfield collection. Lots of ideas for TNs I want to do now. I wish Meghann had been given the full 2 hours plus hour fb chat like the others. She had lots of great title tips, and I actually pulled out my TH platform for the first time and used it! I haven’t really finished anything - lots of piles of half finished projects. But it was a fun weekend!

But it was a fun weekend! I agree with this 100%. The Hadfield collection is totally too bland for me, but I am excited about what I learned in the class and will pep up the pages with some other collections. I was so surprised about VM class because I have heard nothing but good stuff about her classes, but it was so basic. She spent way too much time matting the photos, that must have taken her a good 30 minutes since she had 6 photos all double matted. That class was just a real disappointment because I had been looking forward to that one. I am looking forward to doing the Love layout posted above and the Paige Evans one. We loved the foiled leaves, that was really cool. I honestly thought there would be more things like that with our attendee kit. Will someone correct me if I am wrong but the actual videos where we make things are: The 4 main classes, TN, Victoria Marie, Title class and Vicki Boutin Love Layout Leaf foiling Blending markers Paige Evans I know there is the Stacey Julian keynote, I might watch that one while scrapping this week and see if I think it would be something my mom is interested in or not. Did I miss anything, are any of the meet and greet videos worth watching? Also, I know they had a lot of drawings, even though I never win my mom is pretty lucky, if we didn’t watch any of the drawings might she still win? Or did she have to watch and notice that her name was pulled? All in all, it was really fun and I enjoyed doing the classes with my mom, and she was really excited, so it was worth it for that alone!

As I said, I don’t use Facebook hardly at all, but there was a time when I had to for our local theater (to see what they were showing) and it didn’t seem as awful as it is now. Am I just imagining it used to be easier, or am I too old and crotchety now to get it?

Now I want to know about that foiling everyone loved so much. Can someone explain it? They were leaves die-cut on thermoweb adhesive foam sheets and when you take off the paper backing you can press transfer foil onto it and pull up. Repeat until all the sticky bits are covered and bam, you've got a cute foiled dimensional shape. It was super easy with a super cute end result. Here's a quick screen shot from the video. She also foiled the laser printed sentiment we were given for that extra shine lol

What a fun weekend! I wasn't able to craft along for all the classes but enjoyed everything. The foiled leaves were so easy and I want to try something like that for my DD.
I can't join in for the spring event, but hope they continue with some virtual events.
Here is my layout for Paige's class and I turned the 8 1/2 x 11 layout to a 12 x 12 for Victoria's class.

@skellington if you liked the title class, watch Meghann's meet and greet. She showed lots of layout examples for ideas.
