papercrafteradvocate sorry my posted caused you more worries. Thank you DH for helping those in need. (((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) I think the incident I posted was probably local workers who were possibly POC that were her trigger. It didn’t cause me more worries!! It actually helped me to figure out why I was feeling the way I did!!! All is good, thanks!

This is not a canal. It’s a major roadway in Philadelphia. This is the Vine Street Expressway for those who might be familiar. The worst flooding we’ve had in 100 years. This is what it usually looks like. My son is an inpatient at Chop right now, and a lot of the staff had trouble making it in. It is crazy tge anoubt of flooding. I live 36 miles away from the hospital, and everything around me is flooded, homes washed away by the Perkiomen Crerk which rose 20 1/2 feet above flood stage, breaking the record. Thankfully my house didn’t flood, we just lost power and our food all spoiled. I’m swapping places with my husband as he will come stay with my son and i will go home to clean, stock the fridge and help our neighbors.

I’m sorry stormycat. Especially that you need to deal with it with your son in the hospital. How is he doing?

I’m sorry stormycat. Especially that you need to deal with it with your son in the hospital. How is he doing? Thank you! He is doing good. He just turned 5 (here in the hospital) and has Epilepsy that was uncontrollable, so he had brain surgery 5 weeks ago. They disconnected the entire right side of his brain, so he lost all function on his left. He is in rehab now learning how to walk again and get done use back of his arm. We’ve been here a little over 5 weeks and 2 more to go. So we are hanging in, I’m just so over it. He is doing such a great job and working so hard doing 4 hours of therapy a day. He is a tough little boy. Heather Thank you for asking, I’m having a tough day and this was a bright spot.

stormycat what a ride. I’m so sorry. So glad he is regaining strength. What a brave little boy! I would offer to bring lunch and come sit with you awhile if times were different. I’m sure nobody is allowed in. Please PM me with his name, room # and address at the hospital if you feel comfortable. I’d like to send something to brighten his day. Would it be ok if I prayed for him, and for you and dad too?

Would it be ok if I prayed for him, and for you and dad too? Thanks again. I will send you a message. He is such a survivor. He was critically abused by his birth parents at 5 weeks old. I met him at 10 weeks when I agreed to be his foster mom, and later adopt him. He wasn’t supposed to live, and if he did, he would surely never eat, walk and talk. He beat the odds and not only lived but thrived. At 8 mo old in addition to his Epilepsy, CP and Visual Impairment, he was diagnosed with Infantile Spasms, a rare often permanently devastating developmental disease. Diagnosed with this 80 % of kids have permanent developmental delays, that they don’t recover from, 10% die and 10% make it through fine. Somehow he beat it. Just like now he is beating everyone expectations. I’m not sure how I got so lucky to be his mommy, and his younger brother too. I know a lot of people lost a lot through this storm. I’m so very thankful that our loss was minimal. But I’m so thankful I have Colton and how well he is doing! Heather

stormycat oh my word he is so adorable! 🥰 He’s been through so much in his little life. And you have been a literal lifeline for him. You are an amazing mama who loved him well from his week 10 and your day one with him. You continue to love him fiercely. That smile on his face is there because of you and dh. When you PM please give me a few ideas of things that he will enjoy. Are you camping out at the hospital with him like I did with Fred, or driving back and forth every night?
