I've decided I'm going to use one 12x12 sheet protector with all 3x4 spaces for October documenting and throw that in the family album. My hand is not feeling great. My oldest child inherited my clumsiness and has fractured his tibia. I'm just frustrated. I will now be chauffeuring him to and from work. I had a list of things October related I can work on this month and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
I bought two seasonal teas; Celestial Seasonings Caramel Apple Dreams and Sweet Harvest Pumpkin. I really like the first, have not tried the second. Also purchased two, small white decorative pumpkins to put on my porch. So, some photo ideas.

dawnnikol Oh yay! I'm so glad you got your Halloween beauties after all. refugeepea I'm sorry to hear about your kiddo. Hope your hand is not making you suffer too much. Did you have an accident? Over here, we had some bad stormy weather. While I like the actual storm part (spooky!), I do not care one bit for the very heavy rainfall. Brought back memories of the tragedy we had in the Vésubie valley exactly a year ago with houses disappearing and people dying. Absolutely hate when several months worth of rain fall in the matter of just a few hours. So scary. Glad that's over! I've managed to keep up with my daily journaling on Happy Planner sheets. Hoping to jump back into photo action for bigger stories tomorrow. My mother received her "Halloween month" gift (a few goodies I got her from Lush) and loves the Alien bubble bar. I've gotten Halloween month gift bags for a few people this year and they are a hit. I think the fact that there are no gifts in France all the way until December makes it that much more special. People aren't expecting anything around this time of the year so the surprise has extra impact. Also, I've been thinking I might shift the whole Advent calendar thing for myself to October next year. I could see treating myself to some spooky goodness and treats all the way through this month rather than December for a change. I'm even contemplating making a dark Advent wreath with black candles for the four Sundays leading up to Halloween. While I'm an atheist, I did sit through some Christian rituals as a child for a few years through school when we lived abroad where public schools were not separated from state religion. I've always wanted to find a way to bring back the four Sunday candles into my yearly holidays but never felt comfortable with their religious significance. Black Halloween candles would be a great loophole. And it would be so easy to make a spooky wreath with some fake spiders and black accents...

sleepingbooty glad to hear weather has passed. Love all your ideas of making October merrier! I agree, I kinda get tired of all the Christmas themed celebration....it's fun to change it up. It's been so humid here the past couple days, so I am still waiting for it to feel like October. Hoping to bake some snickerdoodles on the weekend and prep some to mail. I just realized Halloween is a Sunday, so not really sure how trick-or-treating will work here. It seems many do the organized type trick-or-treating at churches and such. I went all out last year to try to have safe trick-or-treating for kids bcz so much was made about it in the press, and got about 10% of what normally come. Even tho cases are on decline, not sure how it will play out for affecting young kids. My SO doesn't mind being stuck with 100 extra pieces of candy tho! I will crush it up and make monster type cookies.

Last year we had a handful of kids even though we didn't decorate or expect anyone. They came even after we turned out the porch lights! I guess they remembered I had mini bags of chips and goodie bags in previous years I had to scramble and find some erasers and sticker and other goodies. Sunday night might cut the numbers quite a bit. Like you said, more people are doing the organized things at the mall and churches and our little downtown. I don't think most of them happened last year, but I think they'll be back this year. I better stock up on some bags of chips again. The kids really seem to enjoy the break from candy.

For day 3 I did a fall photo and journaling about the transition of seasons. Day 4 is about celebrating Oktoberfest. Day 5 is almost complete and will be about my girls costumes. I have been using the sketches by shadnee for her 31 days of spooky scraps and it’s been a great starting point.

Only 6 days in and I'm already working on random days 🙃
I made a bunch of filler/foundation pages though so that counts for something lol.

Computer died and we are day 5 of trying to restore all my data. Journaling done for every day so far!
Plans for universal next week all finalized!
Sooo glad the cocoa daisy kit sold out. I was sooo tempted. Hoping the stamp magically shows up as an extra on the website!

Computer died and we are day 5 of trying to restore all my data. Fingers crossed you manage to get your data back! This just sucks. I'm glad I've got some cloud action going regularly for my files but just losing simple things like the list of fonts you had installed is such a beyotch. Only 6 days in and I'm already working on random days 🙃 There's beauty in chaos! For day 3 I did a fall photo and journaling about the transition of seasons. Day 4 is about celebrating Oktoberfest. Day 5 is almost complete and will be about my girls costumes. Kudos for keeping up! Hope the beer was yum. I better stock up on some bags of chips again. The kids really seem to enjoy the break from candy. *secretly travels to America and goes trick-or-treating where the good stuff is being handed out* *tries to remember to call it 'chips', not 'crisps'* It's tendonitis. I've been going to weekly therapy appointments, but it still isn't feeling great. Ouch! Been there, suffered from that. It can be completely debilitating. I hope the inflammation goes down soon. What's a monster cookie?! I obviously know how to Google, but thought I'd ask you since you mentioned them! Kids and I were playing with IG spooky filters today, so that'll make for a fun page in the Autumn album. ^.^ Skellinton there's a Sally filter that was A-Mazing.

Now that you asked, not really sure why it's named that, but i think because its a drop cookie with all the ingredients. The "traditional" ones have pb, oats and are like a choc-chip cookie, but with m&m candies instead. I use it as a generic term to mean, throwing all the things into the cookie. I still tend to theme them, so keep pb stuff together, caramel stuff together, but I really do want to try one with a mish mash of candies.

Speaking of Halloween cookies, I made these last year and they are absolutely decadent! Recipe linkI found it on babz510 ’s Instagram post last year. I couldn’t find the Yummallo baking chips or Reese’s baking candies anywhere, so I just used more of the Reese’s pieces. Oh, and I use gluten-free flour, so they came out a little flatter than they should.

I had to take the adult boy child to work today, and it was dark and stormy! We average only 16 inches of rain a year and we had a very hot summer. I figured I might as well take a photo from the parking lot. I also used his discount to get me food.😏
And my other son had a seizure at the doctor's office. That's scary right? Ugh! He had an ear infection and being sick and lack of sleep can trigger a seizure. I did take a photo of my son laying on the floor out of it, more to show the other medical people he sees. So do the peas just focus on the seasonal aspects of October Daily like pumpkin spice, costumes, and all that. Do you throw the other good and bad life crap that happens too? ETA: Sometimes my typed out responses are all wonky when I add a photo.

Since this is my first Autumnal Album (official name since I'll go into November), I am not sure as I am still doing PL, too. However, with DD, I include good and bad just like in PL. It's all my life and it's never all good or bad. I hope your son is feeling better.

refugeepea I'm so sorry about your son, poor guy I hope he's able to recover well! When I do these themed minis I follow everything that happens to the point it turns into a short project life for that time period. But I don't scrap PL style so these minis are the only look into my daily life. Some of my days are filled to the brim with Holiday stuff! ..and some of my days are unfortunately spent crying in bed because.. life lol. And that's okay. This is obviously two opposite ends of the scale but anything in between is included too. Since I'm the only one who really looks at these I feel like I'm misrepresenting myself if I exclude the hard things. I love seeing other peoples' books filled with stories of their favorite villains or pages upon pages of their decorations and cute and spooky things they do with their families.. but that's not for me and that's okay too. Or the books that follow prompts to a T and only write/photograph those things. In a long winded way I guess what I'm saying is do what feels best to you lol Also, shout out to that food discount!

Do you throw the other good and bad life crap that happens too? Ugh, sorry to hear about his seizure. That does sound scary, but not the good October kind of scary I think the question is how you will feel when you come to that page in the future - is it something you want to remember or to forget or something you want to reframe by telling a story about it or is it enough part of your daily reality that you won't have strong feelings about it being in your album? Which is to say, do what works for you. I have been a little better in my journal lately about leaving out the stuff that I don't want to dredge up again in the future, the stuff that hurt my feelings today but I don't need to dwell on. But that doesn't mean I leave out all the bad/hard stuff. And in a holiday album there's nothing wrong with deciding which things to put in and leave out for yourself. We all edit all the time (no one includes every meal or bathroom break) but sometimes they do justify a story.

I dwell way too much on the bad stuff in my head. I guess it's got to be a part of normal life now. Sounds weird, but I wanted to document one of his seizures was finally witnessed by someone other than me, my husband, and daughter; a physician's assistant and medical assistants.

I have fallen off the wagon. I was doing so well too. I have the next 4 stories planned out and just need to scrap them. I’m going to attempt a bit tonight. I just got my peachy cheap order of a little scary.
The reason I fell behind is I got my package from feed your craft with all the pink fresh and simple stories goodness and planned out all my December daily pages and started foundations. I’m up to day 3 along with a handful of additional pages. I’m having so much fun. I need to put it down. Also it’s making me realize I don’t need to buy anything else. I want to buy stuff but really I need to stop.

I’m really surprised someone hasn’t TM’d “October Daily” or “October Occasionally” yet. Not to give AE any ideas though.

Since this is my first Autumnal Album (official name since I'll go into November) If you're using a hashtag #autumnalalbum might be a better choice than #autumnalbum, or it might not, depending on your humor level. Mine is firmly stuck at the 14 yo level I made fun of Ingunn every time she posted her autumnal bum on Instagram (although she was the one who pointed it out originally). Or write it in the trendy format: #au tum nal bum

I’m doing October Daily in a junk journal and really loving getting back into the habit of journaling something ever day. It’s not all Halloween or fall related, but holds a collection of thoughts and things that happened. I’ve gotten out of the journaling and scrapping habit these last couple of months and this has really brought me back into it. I’ve been following along here and enjoyed reading about everyone’s progress!

So far I am happy that I have most of my supplies together and I downloaded the Universum Android app and have used it to keep up with daily journaling, sometimes attaching a picture to the entry. I don't have pictures for every day so this maybe an October Occasionally project. I still need to pick up an album! I am thinking about a Simple Stories Flipbook but I might wait until the month is over, look through my pictures and figure it out from there.

I've just printed a few pages! Small victories. I'm ready to bust out the stamps and get inky. We're gearing up to watch the Muppets Haunted Mansion special tonight so I'm really in the mood to get some October documenting done. As things stand, I think I'm looking at about 7 stories for this year + calendar sheets, I think. I'm at peace with less compared to last thick year's daily project. Still on the to-do list: photographs. I've got some décor up but no evidence of it yet. Haven't taken photos of the yellowing foilage yet either. I'm being a terrible scrapbooker right now, eep! ETA: I don't know why I even bother buying pretty Halloween-themed paper. I dipped into Heidi Swapp's Old School from last year, a *summer* collection. Ugh.
