Ds was at the grocery store and said the shelves seemed emptied again. I don’t know if people started panic buying again? Have you noticed anything with Tostito’s chips? I haven’t seen them on the shelves in a while. Just had Scoops last weekend. We don’t go into stores so perhaps they were low stock, but I had a different sizes to choose from online. Eta: We are in Texas. I haven’t been in the store to see stock either but I was able to get some of the bite sized rounds in my curbside order but I also ordered Tostito's Queso and I didn’t get it as it was out of stock.

In our cell therapy lab we have issues with acquiring sterile plastics, like bottles and seroligical pipettes. Also some drugs for transplant patients will be unavailable. Another one....media to grow the stem cells for transplant.

Canning lids and rings! I heard it’s because of the metal shortage. Today I learned band instruments are hard to get new. The guy from the music store said he had a couple of Yamahas and a Jupiter in stock, otherwise forget it! He also said a school close to us purchased a whole new marching drum line back in December and they’re still waiting for them! I just want a trumpet for a new student! Ha! Told him what he had would be fine!

I’ve been having issues getting the clay I use to make earrings since I started in July. Most online stores, including several Etsy shops, as well as big box stores have been out, or low for months due to the factories being shut down last year, and even though the company is back to 199% production, they are having issues getting the containers from the ports. A couple colors have finally started trickling in, but very slowly.
There have been delays, or partial orders being received for scrapbook companies as well.

Two books I been waiting for to hit the shelves were right on time. Today I stopped at Chick-Fil-A and they were OUT OF CFA sauce!! The horror!! haha... and the gal was telling me they can't get in enough nuggets, they usually run out before the end of the night. Side Note! The Chick-Fil-A sauce was created here in our town in VA. We could get it in little cups back in the day before corporate bought it and started distributing!

I've been doing a good amount of grocery pickup lately so I can't comment on what the shelves look like. However, I have had quite a few items look like they are available but really aren't because the shopper can't find them. I did have a hard time finding Gatorade this summer. When we went to buy a second fridge this summer the one I probably would have picked first wasn't going to be available until October or November, but my second choice was in stock at another location so we went with that one. Oddly, the one thing we expected to wait up to 18 weeks for was DS's first passport, but we applied for it during the first week of August and it was delivered to us during the last week of August. I'm a little mad I paid extra to expedite it, but maybe that was the reason we got it before November/December...? My dd applied for her first passport mid July and hasn’t received it. She doesn’t need it urgently and did the normal.

There’s certain items at our grocery store that customers are saying all stores are out of. They’re just not coming in. Crystal Geyser sparkling waters is one. We have plenty of the big bottles. It’s the 4 packs that aren’t coming in. Nobody buys the big bottles.

I keep getting notices in the mail that the Ford dealership REALLY wants to buy back my 2017 Escape. Nope. It’s paid for and they don’t have anything I could replace it with. I haven’t been able to find the shampoo I like in stock anywhere for months, and I haven’t been able to find anything else that works with my hair type. I get most of our groceries at Costco and haven’t really noticed any major shortages of the stuff we usually buy. But now that others have mentioned it, I have noticed that the spices section at Target has been wiped out looking for quite some time.

My car has been in the shop now for two months with no ETA on when the parts will be available. So there’s that. Just curious, but what kind of car and what type of repair? My 2018 Honda CRV has been sitting at my local dealership since July 15 waiting on parts to repair my rack and pinion system. Thank heavens the dealer has given me loaners to use. Problem is they’ve all been small cars that won’t fit things that would fit in my CRV. Ford Edge and and the parts are for the water pump.

In our cell therapy lab we have issues with acquiring sterile plastics, like bottles and seroligical pipettes. Also some drugs for transplant patients will be unavailable. Another one....media to grow the stem cells for transplant. So many of the things we are reading about are convenience items, or preferred brands. But this is really scary. The one thing I have not been able to find for months and is driving me crazy is shallots. What the heck happened to all of the shallots? We’ve always stocked paper goods, hygiene items and cleaning supplies. After March last year when things became readily available again we just started stocking more of them as we have the room and fortunately have been able to afford it. Though I do watch for sales and try to stock up then since the need for them is not urgent. We also purchased a freezer (like many, not the one we wanted and we still had to wait ages) and had been buying proteins when they were on sale. But the last many months, there has been very little of the outside aisle stuff actually on sale. So now we just keep a decent supply of our favorite items stocked without waiting for them to go in sale. And we make extra meals when we cook and freeze them, that’s come in handy a lot. It’s interesting reading different things going in and out of stock around the country, wondering what if any will be impacted here, and especially learning about issues from those of you in the business. I like getting a heads up because we can slowly purchase things ahead of time that might become an issue, so it’s been a nice buffer for us. I appreciate the reminders about potential Thanksgiving issues, I’ll start adding a few items each trip. Including that nasty cranberry jelly DH loves And Christmas toys for children for sure!

I work at a place that supplies hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical parts to manufacturers in all kinds of industries. Lead times are getting longer, some are just completely unknown and prices are going up. If a machine breaks down at a factory and the part is unavailable, they either have to wait with no machine or have to rework the whole thing to use different parts that are available.
There is local baked bean company. They can't start the production line until they hire 2 more people. However, according to the facebook comments, they can't find anyone because they pays minimum wage and treat employees like trash.
I signed up in January to have my driveway sealed this year. I just received an email from the owner of the company saying that have equipment for 5 crews but only staff for 2, so there was a good chance they wouldn't get to us this year and he would understand if we went with someone else.

I visit a number of stores every week for my job. I have noticed a lot of empty shelves and a lot of shelves with just one row of products across the front with nothing behind. Whether it is staffing, supply chain, or I don't know. But it is certainly contributing to my growing anxiety. I always try to stay stocked up on our must have items, particularly things the cats need.

The industry I work in is severely affected by supply chain issues. We have to address it in every contract we draft and it is THE hot topic in contract negotiations right now. I imagine in a couple of years it will be the subject of many of my litigation cases.
Meanwhile, DH has been having a heck of a time finding a new car stereo due to chip shortages.

We moved from overseas back to the USA in early June. My stuff (furniture, clothes, home decor etc) is sitting in a warehouse in the middle east because they can't secure any shipping containers to ship our stuff. I'm beyond frustrated because it takes 8-12 weeks to get here once it has shipped. I'm really hoping we'll have it by Christmas.
I have tried to order several different couches but it's such a long wait time for any furniture that I've kind of given up for now. I also placed a couple of clothing orders several weeks ago and nothing has been shipped yet. I can live without the clothes but it's weird to have things taking so long.

I haven't noticed bare store shelves but I do most of my grocery shopping curbside pick-up... The thing I haven't been able to get for a while is canned peaches. They are not even on the website to add to my order unless I want to pay $6.49 a can (I'm assuming those are the giant restaurant sized cans or peaches made out of gold.) I'm not sure if this is a widespread problem or just my store...
Otherwise what doesn't show up in my grocery order changes from week to week, and I'm guessing most of the time it's the store employee not being able to find the item rather than a supply issue.

Vehicles, not many options and you pay full sticker price Furniture - we ordered last month and the couch should be here in January. The chair in February I had a rock hit my windshield and needed a replacement. They had one left in stock at the dealership and said there’s a delay getting more. Yes, cars! When we bought out Miata last month, they said they usually have about 600 cars on the lot, and they had 40. They had one Miata, which was exactly what we wanted. The next closest dealer with an automatic was about 500 miles away. I also know that in HI people were renting Uhauls for a rental car because cars were limited and expensive.

I think this is a big problem all over. I want to say that our 5 gallon bottled water delivery has been delayed every month for at least the last six months because the company can’t find and/or retain route drivers. One of the drivers I talked to a couple months ago said that the last few people they hired didn’t last a week.

DH works for an engineering firm that does a lot of mixed use building designs. Investors Ave companies that are paying for the construction are running into budget issues between raw material not being available and staffing on the crews. A project that should've been done by now is sitting at 75% done because of various shortages and delayed shipments. A few projects are being delayed completely because of funding and more building material shortages.
We're planning on getting a new washer and dryer soon. While I've been wanting a smart washer, we've been talking about just buying something that is currently in stock, no ordering of anything. We are going to give the washer and dryer to a cousin who needs them so we don't want to make her wait 7 months just because we want something fancy.
On the grocery store side, we've been seeing certain stuff being out of stock for a while now. We love Meijer's hash brown patties but they've been gone for a couple months at a time. We check every time we go. The last time they were in stock, I bought 3 packages and bought one every time until they disappeared again. We've gone through our stash and can't find a decent replacement. DH uses a certain brand of hair wax. He had tried a few others and found that this one is the one he likes best. It's been out at nearly every store that sells hair products. I found two at a Walgreens and grabbed them. He dreading having to find a new one if this one is discontinued.
DS recently sold a computer part for more than what he paid because it's completely out of stock in places. DH and I both want to upgrade our laptops but can't.

My Wal Mart has no spray paint. The shelves have about a dozen cans and that’s it - and it has been like this for three months. I imagine if they were discontinuing carrying paint, they would reconfigure the area, but since the shelves continue to be empty, I assume they are waiting on a shipment.

I was complaining to my husband recently that I'm finding it hard to get certain items.
I've notice the Gatorade issue like others, I buy it weekly for my husband to take to work. Some days Target has been completely out of the zero ones.
Certain water bottle sizes, especially the small ones. Still some cleaning supplies, the toilet bowl cleaner I like has been out for a while.
Grandma Brown Baked Beans - upset about this one! I cannot find them anywhere so I will be so disappointed if I can't get them for the holidays. Nothing else is even close.

I'm a scientist. We are currently having supply issues with pipet tips and cell culture flasks. Pretty much anytime I need to place an order I get a notice that it's backordered for at least a month out....when the month is up, I get another email extending it for a month. I ordered pipet tips in Feb and they are back ordered until Feb 2022
