Happy October! After a too long hiatus, my sewing mojo has finally returned! Currently I'm working to make a dent in my UFO/WIPs. The hexagon quilt (official name is Spider Hexagon) was put away in 2015 after the IQF class. This week it's all come rushing back to me why it was put away. It has been a difficult quilt for me. Finally got all the rows put together last night...for the second time. The first time I managed to not read the diagram/instructions correctly and all the rows were misaligned. Now they are correct and today I'll cut and sew the filler triangles for the ends to square it off. There is supposed to be a double borders of small triangles added next, but I'm just going to do solid border strips. I'm over this quilt top! Next up will be the baby quilt that has needed quilting for 6 months. Backing and batting are cut so I just need to baste it and quilt it. Will be simple straight line quilting as it is a very busy design. I need to make another baby quilt after that and have some fabrics to use, just need to figure out the pattern. That Night Before Christmas blanket is amazing! I seem to recall JoP making a very similar blanket a couple of years ago. I’m glad your sewing mojo is back. This is my Christmas blanket - thanks for remembering **GypsyGirl**

Thank you jeremysgirl . I’ll check it out. My mash up version of Meow and Woof. I have about a dozen ends to weave in them it’s done. I am really pleased with it; I like the look of it and I like the feel of it. This is my yarn for the autumnal blanket. I am itching to get started on it! gillyp your Meow Woof blanket is adorable and thank you for the pocket shawl pattern links

My friend who had crocheted for 30 years wouldn’t tackle it - I should’ve paid more attention 🤪😆😉 - all those bobble stitches 🤯😳.

Sometimes going in blind is a benefit. No built in preconceptions of how hard something will be. That’s a very good way of looking at it. I’ve been asked a few times if I’ll make one for other people - ummm nopety nope 😁

I finished a cross stitch for my great niece. I need to find a frame for it.
I have another great niece coming in Nov and I'm cross stitching her a name banner. My niece asked for dusty pinks and mustardy colours, and I really like the colours I picked.
My first great niece is almost 5 and recently asked if I would make her some "pull on Halloween creepy skirts" 😆 I'm guessing she wants elastic waist skirts with spiders and skeletons. I have some fun creepy fabric in my stash.

My yarn for Attic24s Yuletide blanket arrived this week. I started it last night and didn't have any trouble getting the first few rounds done. I'm 20 some rounds into it and it is beautiful. I'm really glad she put out something different than stripes or the joined granny square blankets. With the exception of a baby blanket that I was working on when I was a passenger in a car, I took the entire summer off from crocheting. I had made so many big blankets to give as gifts last year. It's nice to work on something that I'll keep for myself.

lol..its single thread on 22 count...I'm going blind! I was a big big needlepointer for many years. I worked in my girlfriend’s store on the weekend for many years and even self-published a needlepoint book. I totally get your “eye strain” ! I mostly worked on 14 & 18 count canvas. Your project is a huge undertaking! You’re a great Mom to do this for your daughter.

Its "only" 25,560 stitches...about 5.5"x 9.5". I try to work on it a few hours each night while watching Dallas. I try to stop by midnight, but some nights I look up and its after 1am! Now I am on season 14 (final) of Dallas and I don't know what to watch next while I finish it.

I am on fall break this coming week and brought home the school Makerbot Sketch. I need to get more black filament to make bats so in the meantime my 5 year old is testing out the print with blue filament. He's sooo impatient. Keeps walking away and coming back to it... "oh, it's at 4%." "OH! Now it's making the joints in the wings" "Only at 10 percent?" He's now at, "I'm going to just sit here and watch the percent change." LOL. I'll share pics when it's all done.
I made a super hero math shirt for me last week so I could be a math villain.
Bought beads to make more sun catchers too.
Scored a few trash bags of free fabric and went thru that to take what I wanted. There were several packs of already cut squares to make christmas quilt designs with and I passed them along. I don't need those! I rarely do seasonal stuff. I did keep a decent amount of fabric in colors I'd use and christmas and a few halloween. I'll make seasonal masks.
Have to clean up the table before I do anything tho! I can't even see my cutting mat!
