I'm so surprised no one is talking about it here. I won't post a link because there's only like 8 million articles you can Google on this recent controversy.
I'm not sure where I'm going to land on this. I'm not normally one to get moved enough to boycott things. But this one? Maybe.
Neil Young had polio before mass vaccination. He had to relearn how to walk afterward. He has been an advocate for the environment and disabled adults/children. Not to mention the fact that he is a very talented artist. He has used his platform for good.
Music has always meant something special to me. And now I'm quite moved.

I totally support Neil Young. I don't use Spotify and would never support an app knowing that they allow Joe Rogan to be on there. Ew.

Spotify is what I use to listen to music, but I don’t know if I will continue. I am not a fan of giving Joe Rogan a platform for his lies.

I don't listen to or care about Joe Rogan but I'm not getting rid of my Spotify just because he's on there. I don't care much about Neil Young either.
I listen to Spotify literally every day. I have no interest in Apple or its products.

I’ve been pondering this too. I love Spotify and would hate to lose my playlists. And Spotify isn’t going to dump a guy who makes them millions because a few of us stopped paying for them.
But also, Joe Rogan is a dangerous, lying douchebag who bears a lot of responsibility for the current belief that all opinions are equally valid, whether they’re based on facts and evidence or not. So yeah.

Spotify’s stock tanked, lost billions and so many were canceling their membership, that Spotify stopped allowing people to cancel!
Actions have consequences, they made a choice, now those who pay made their choice!!

I have Spotify - we have a family account and everyone uses it a lot. Honestly I didn’t even realize there were podcasts on Spotify! But I don’t listen to them…I rarely boycott anything so I won’t get rid of Spotify but you can put me down in the Joe Rogan is a asshat troll column.

I've been debating on creating a playlist on Spotify just to have some music I can listen to while sewing or knitting.
I will keep debating on it as long as they continue to host Joe Rogan.
I'll just use the free version of Pandora and deal with the lack of full control.

This sums it up for me:
In a world of Eric Claptons, be a Neil Young.
ETA: I have no plans to drop Spotify because of this. So I guess I personally am no Neil Young.

I have a family plan and everyone in the family uses it. We are switching to Deezer. It's not a big deal to move everything over: www.tunemymusic.com/ will move from Spotify to wherever else you might want it.

Ineed to look into it. I have dozens of my own long playlists on Spotify, and could not bear to lose them. Thank you!

Well XM channel 27 is saying “Take That!!” To Spotify by having it as an exclusive Neil Young channel for a limited time.
Way to go XM!

I don’t use Spotify but if I did I doubt I’d boycott or cancel. I mean I’m not canceling my cable because they have the Fox “News” channel.
However, I applaud Neil young for his stance.

I cancelled my Spotify just prior to this. I couldn’t justify it anymore. Joe Rogan is dangerous, they have actively and openly enabled him.
It’s only $10 a month, but given they actually pay him (an insane amount) for exclusivity I didn’t want *any* of my money to go to them. I just finished today moving all my playlists over to Apple Music. I won’t even use the ad supported free version now, and told them why when I cancelled.
I used tunemymusic.com which made it incredibly easy - 2500 songs in my 30 or so playlists moved to Apple Music playlists in about 15 minutes.

I deleted my Spotify account today. I didn't use it often anyway, but I wanted to let them know I also disapproved of their giving a platform to grifters and those spouting disinformation. It seemed like the right time.

I’ve never had a Spotify account (I’m happy to give all my money to Apple!) but I’m pretty sure now that I never will.
I’m also slightly embarrassed to admit that I don’t know who Neil Young is, although I will google him right after I post this, but I admire him for taking a stand. Also, fuck Rogan.
ETA: I don’t recognize any of his songs by title, and I’m laying in bed next to my sleeping husband so I can’t listen to them right now. I’ll check it out tomorrow.

Hands down the best concert I ever attended was Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. Give a listen. I know you'll recognize some of his songs.
