40 takes you right to Kingsman, AZ. If they were to take the 10 it puts them too far south and east and they'd have to backtrack. Neither the 10 or 40 have mountains.

Sorry if this has been addressed but I have a question. Do all of these truckers own the trucks or have they hijacked the trucks from their employers? Or are their employers ok with this?

How many people here want to bet on how many of those truckers couldn't accurately explain what CRT actually is? Me, I’d put it at 99%. Wow. Me, I'd guess you're dead wrong. So you think truckers are all a bunch of morons? You have no clue. You go ahead and think/believe what you choose; and I'll do the same. Not willing waste my time to argue/debate with people who have a mindset like this. You just proved your complete ignorance on this all on your own.

Very few people know what CRT is. It is only taught in some law schools,. NOT in k-12 or even college. It is not ignorance to not know, it is normal for most people to not know! boys5times. elaine

Most truckers own their own truck. When my uncle was a distance trucker he did. When he moved to construction, it was the company truck.

You did. 99% of the people who voted for the candidate for governor in my state because he pledged to take CRT out of the K-12 schools can't either. Starting with the fact that it isn't taught in K-12 schools. Period. So, why don't you cure me of my ignorance over why truckers are protesting over something taught in law school and explain it to me, because it sure seems like they don't understand it from where I’m sitting. Should my buddies and I start protesting about some material taught in truck driving school that has nothing to do with us in our everyday lives? Should we close down thoroughfares and unrelated businesses because we don't like what they teach in a trade school (analogous to law school which trains lawyers, not our children)?

FWIW, and this is just MY opinion-I suspect that, much like the Canada protest, that some folks are being manipulated by people with a hard right agenda. I am not convinced that these protestors are all truckers. We saw that in Canada. I might be wrong, but that’s what it looks like to me right now.

There were more regular vehicles than similar starting it off in Ca. Just your typical Trump, right wing butt heads who don't like that they didn't get their way in November.

I received a text from my trumper/anti-vaxed/conspiracy theory loving friend last night about how excited she is about the “huge People’s Convoy” traveling to DC. She was lamenting the fact that she couldn’t take flags and supplies to the starting point. However she was informing me that they were coming through SLC. When I look at the map, I don’t see SLC anywhere close to I-40. I am having problems with her text. It bothers me the same way calling former “MY President” did. I have maintained the attitude that I wasn’t going to let political differences get in the way of our friendship, however, I am really questioning my attitude. I can understand why and how she got so wrapped up in this nonsense. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I saw on one of their IG convoy accounts a post calling for motorcycle clubs to join them as well. To be fair, the comments lead me to believe that plenty of motorcycle enthusiasts might be willing to join them, but not to support truck drivers. Their comments are more along the lines of protesting ALL THE THINGS in their extensive list of grievances.

I told my truck driver husband if he even had one inkling (and he doesn't) to join this circus that I would lock him out of the house. And I don't think his company would appreciate it much if DH took off in their truck.. (I was joking of course).. and his response was "What?" He didn't even know what was going on.. he really didn't even know about the Canada thing either. Life as a trucker for him, no news unless I clue him in.

Or are their employers ok with this? not sure if anyone has addressed it, but I'd bet money that they're all owner-operators. My DH works for a trucking company, and when this started happening I asked him if he'd heard anything about it. He was like "what?!?" He drives local, so he drives during the day and leaves his truck at the yard every evening. I would think if anyone 'hijacked' a truck from their employer for something like this, the company could (rightfully so) call the police and report it stolen. eta: you can't really use an employer-owned truck for anything at all besides work, actually... I joked with my DH that he should have just asked to borrow one of their trucks with a 53-foot trailer on it when we were moving. He was like, 'no way!' There's insurance liability, driver regulations, etc. related to a truck driver being on the road, aside from just having a valid commercial license. I'm fairly certain any (smart) trucking company employer wouldn't let an employee borrow a truck for any reason.

Not willing waste my time to argue/debate with people who have a mindset like this. You just proved your complete ignorance on this all on your own. This was last summer but 57% of Americans didn't know what CRT was. Most of the rest had misconceptions about it. Only 5% knew what it was and correctly answered questions about it. 99% might be slightly exaggerated, but if 95 % the general population doesn't know or completely understand what CRT is, its not a stretch to imagine that the percentage would be similar if you asked truckers the same questions www.reuters.com/world/us/many-americans-embrace-falsehoods-about-critical-race-theory-2021-07-15/www.ipsos.com/en-us/news-polls/reuters-ipsos-poll-critical-race-theory-07152021This poll is more recent and it shows that clearly there are a lot of misperceptions about CRT news.northeastern.edu/2021/12/23/critical-race-theory-survey/

And it’s YOU who likened truckers to morons. MOST people gave no idea what CRT actually us, and there’s plenty of evidence to back that up. One only has to look as far as the local school board meetings where crazy people are screaming at and threatening school board members because they think it’s being taught in school, and it’s not, nor ever was.

Look at her post history, especially the ones about covid vaccines/spreading covid, falsehoods about gas prices, and one from June 2019 regarding medical care and unauthorized migrants (not her term - she used a single word referring to their legal status). Reading those posts, it’s not a stretch to think that she probably sides with the truckers and not surprising that she’s defending the racist, misinformed attacks on CRT. I’m also wondering if she’s using an alt ID and posting on political threads recently.

So the organizer of the convoy that was supposed to leave SoCal yesterday is saying it is a bust. No truckers showed up. He is saying that the truckers left earlier to join a convoy in Texas. He also said they couldn’t get through to Utah because of snow. Someone commented that is not true. 😆 But the organizer is still working on all the permits for DC, so I’ll be interesting to see how many do show up. Texas P’s, are there big truck convoys rolling through the area?

I'm a little stunned that the US trucker convoy fundraising has been so sad. It's almost like the US contributors to the Canadian convoy were more interested in funding political unrest in a foreign country than supporting their own supporters.

I did not stay around to ask…but from what I saw they didn’t mind. I thought maybe a dozen people would be there. But there are several hundred that I saw at the overpass that I drove by.

So maybe 50 min? But I40 is open now, atleast at this section of it.

I looked at the route they are taking and wondered why they did not get on I40 all through Tennessee and the approach DC from the south. Perhaps because I40 is always congested with trucks, IDK.
