Are they expecting many traveling down from Hagerstown to DC tonight? My daughter will be driving down to DC from western PA after work tonight, hope she isn't stuck in traffic. I misspoke. Most of the convoy wasn't at Pilot, but the Hagerstown Speedway which is on Old National Pike, so they've surely disrupted life around there already. Since school is out there around noon, I'm guessing the school and police think the worst will be around the afternoon time frame in Hagerstown. Depending on your DDs timing, if it looks bad, she might take Old National Pike (Old 40) into Frederick, then make her way to 355 South. It would mean smaller roads, lights, lower speed limits, but if there are miles of trucks, with their bad attitudes, on the highways, it would be less stressful. Crossing fingers its all past and smooth sailing for her into DC. Also crossing fingers that they don't take over the DC beltway. Trucks at the Speedway, booThanks!

Plans for truckers and other far-right activists to drive vehicles to the Capital Beltway today appear to be indefinitely on hold, with organizers issuing a last-minute invitation for supporters to gather at the Hagerstown Speedway 80 miles outside of Washington DC for an “all day” rally. The announcement was made by an admin on The People’s Convoy (OFFICIAL) Telegram channel at 9:20 a.m. A flier posed in the comments advertises a “Weekend Rally for Freedom & Accountability” at the Hagerstown Speedway where participants converged last night. The flier indicates the rally will take place “all day” on Saturday, with note, “Stay tuned for more updates.” The announcement that the convoy participants will remain in Hagerstown for at least another day followed a post in the official channel at 7:14 a.m. written in all caps: “AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO UPDATE. I LOL at this part: Yeah, members of Congress are going to drive out to Hagerstown on a Saturday with no advance notice, spending (tens of) thousands of taxpayer dollars each to bring their own security teams (because the truckers aren’t paying for it). Not to mention, like in Canada, that isn't how government works. I just love the critical thinking skills on display. |

These truckers can't even get their messaging straight. WTF are they supposedly trying to say? What "Freedom" are they supporting or against? There aren't any more mandates. I heard one incredibly ignorant, brain-washed moron say that he came to D.C. to "see about Joe Biden sexually abusing children". Wrong President, idiot!!!!!!!!! It's just incredible. They have nothing to be yapping about, so they create these Q stories and just go with that.
I'd like to know who paid for all of their gas. That person should be ticketed for polluting. The drivers of the huge rigs drove around, caused pollution FOR NO REASON! All of this while we see heartbreaking pics and stories about Ukraine. It's a nightmare.

I'm in a small town in Ontario, Canada. Today I was at my work (grocery store) and I heard some honking. I looked up and out the windows. We have a 4 way stop. There was the first end of a truck and two pickup trucks that went through that stop honking their horns. Canadian flags and a F-U Trudeau flag. Dudes. Most mandates have been lifted in our province. You seriously going to have your little 3 vehicle protest over wearing masks?  |

Looks like the goal all along was to recruit. This thread on Twitter talks about the Proud Boys, not so nice bikers, making it a family event, prayer tent and way to get families to come so they can offer info and recruit to their white nationalist parties.
There were fireworks, free food, a country singer, and almost all a Podcaster, SM people.
I thought it was going to fizzle out and never thought it was to recruit more butt heads.

I was really down because I had to go to Hagerstown yesterday and then head back to Frederick and down 270 to Silver Spring and there are so many flags of all kinds up on overpasses. It's raining today but a friend and I plan to meet at the Appalachian Trail hiker Bridge to remove the flags from there. Hagerstown is where 81 and 70 meet, making it an easy place to coalesce. The Speedway owners opened their arms to the circus and the marks are flocking there freely. I hate this. I hate how it's causing people to rehang all their Trump paraphernalia on their property and vehicles, often on property that screams they are one paycheck away from homelessness but with the Trump junk, it makes it clear that a fool and their money are soon parted. |

Taking flags off the bridge is quick work and anyone driving under couldn't get there for a good 15 minutes and I could either have driven away or hiked straight uphill for almost a mile in either direction. |
