The colours didn't photograph well at all - just not good light today. More 2010 photos...with old paper and stickers I think the colors turned out great! I know you meant the photos. But this looks so fun and summery. I really like the photo placement.

grammadee I love the title treatment on the love buttons page. Chinagirl828 did you see mamma Mia and them let you take pictures? That is awesome! All our shows are absolutely no photography. We saw Mamma Mia in Las Vegas when we were there for our wedding. I just love that show. I've just ordered tickets for our local symphony orchestra doing the songs in April.

sleepingbooty asked: 1. Are you a background distraction kind of scrapper or do you thrive in complete silence? If you like something playing while you craft, are you more into movies/series or music? What's on your play/watch list this weekend? I don't really watch TV much. If I do it is like old episodes of Friends or other old sitcoms. Stuff I've seen a million times and know by heart. I will sometimes put them on for background noise. I'm much more likely to listen to a podcast. 2. Is there anything in the scrapbooking, cardmaking or general crafting world you've been meaning to try but haven't yet? A technique, product, aesthetic or project? I really want to try a stencil. I don't own any at this point in time. But I watched a Vicki Boutin reel on Instagram the other day with the new saltwater taffy color and I really loved what she did there. 3. Scrappy pet peeves, share yours! (ruh-roh, this may start some drama Smearing ink. I really, really, fucking hate when I smear ink.

1. Are you a background distraction kind of scrapper or do you thrive in complete silence? gramma is quite a distraction. But generally the pea crops are perfect - they keep me seated, let me chat if I need to, provide some background noise, keep me company. Otherwise I stream something very light and easy, often something I've seen before. It really distracts me and decreases my productivity even if I keep it light. I really should try a podcast or audio book instead. 2. Is there anything in the scrapbooking, cardmaking or general crafting world you've been meaning to try but haven't yet? A technique, product, aesthetic or project? Well, hot foiling, but I'm pretty convinced that for a one-trick pony this machine/technique is too expensive for how often I would use it. Beautiful, yes. Coming home with me? No. (And I tempted myself yesterday, my LSS had them for a good price). 3. Scrappy pet peeves, share yours! (ruh-roh, this may start some drama The number of "catch phrases" in ephemera packs and sticker sheets that make me shudder. "Cherish" really needs to go. "100% Boy/girl" - yuck. "Best day ever". toss. And the American (mis)spelling of "favourite" and "colour" will stop me from buying stamps and stickers even if it is just 1 in the whole package!

I will be scrapbooking today. I need a day to not worry about medical stuff. I won't be joining online but will post my pocket pages when done.
1. Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like the quiet. Other times I like music. Christmas from November till Jan 1. My huge playlist on Amazon music other times. It has a mix of country, hip hop, pop, 90s r&b, and 80s-now.
2. Digital die cutter and that tool that closes up pocket pages.
3. Lack of lines that can be used for boys or girls, men/women. I don't always need flowers and butterflies and pinks for dd. Of course I do need more traditional color schemes for ds. But it's nice to have bolder colors for dd. Also enough with the cheesy sayings. And ds is 16. I need real backhoe loaders not cutsey ones.

Comments for page TWO: Your zoo pages are really fun, Linda . Love all the animal prints and stickers. I need to go through my zoo collections to find some tiger stripes to scrap ds's families Bengals Superbowl party. Again, I am so impressed with how you are documenting stories from a decade ago. marie , that looks like a daunting project, but it is coming together nicely. Those types of projects scare me, knowing how inaccurate I can be with cutting and scoring and gluing. But they make lovely keepsakes for special events. I hope you get much joy out of this one--in the making and in the filling with photos. Chinagirl828 , you mentioned a long weekend. Is there a time change involved, too? Tomorrow we lose an hour when we move to Daylight Savings Time, so in my mind this is a SHORT weekend LOL. There is love in the Gallery for your beautiful pages.
Comments for page THREE, so far: jeremysgirl , your PL pages are really well designed and fun to browse through. You have chosen interesting photos to highlight and your journaling is a nice blend of what happened and why. I like how you use half of a card for he pic and half for journaling/embellishing, and how you alternate the sides.
Today's questions: 1. Are you a background distraction kind of scrapper or do you thrive in complete silence? I thrive on complete silence. In an IRL crop, I can equate the general buzz with that, but I don't need "noise" in the background when I scrap. In our virtual crops, I like to chat, but the steps that require thinking--like my journaling--are often left until I am alone and can "hear myself think". 2. Is there anything in the scrapbooking, cardmaking or general crafting world you've been meaning to try but haven't yet? A technique, product, aesthetic or project? I have used it once, but I really want to play with my new foiling system from Spellbinders. It seems to have lots of potential, but I don't want to be dragged into buying a bunch of specialized plates to use with it. (not that getting me purchasing scrappy supplies requires alot of vigorous dragging... ) 3. Scrappy pet peeves, share yours! Right now I am peeved with WalMart photo studio &/or my iPhone. Not sure where the glitch is, but I will go to the kiosk to print pic's from my phone, and not all of them will print b/c they are "stored on the internet". Even if I just took the photo on my phone! Have no idea how it works as to when I photo gets popped onto the cloud. And no idea why if it is MY photo and I just called it up to print that the photo studio can't do it... Am printing a few pic's at home this morning that I thought I had printed with the batch last week at WM. Grrrr.... I am about to use AussieMeg's sketch from today's Sketchy Saturday to scrap some more dgk photos. If I still have time, I may move on to February and March calendar pages.

Chinagirl828 - Love that book layout - so pretty. The vellum is perfect. jeremysgirl -awesome job finishing up January amd the pages look fab - love that you include your handwriting...I try and do so occasionally but usually just computer journal. And that shawl? It's gorgeous! 1. Are you a background distraction kind of scrapper or do you thrive in complete silence? If you like something playing while you craft, are you more into movies/series or music? What's on your play/watch list this weekend?I tend to scrap in silence. I'm not a big tv/movie watcher and I tend to only turn the music on when I'm cleaning. Silence is, however, relative between cats and family. 2. Is there anything in the scrapbooking, cardmaking or general crafting world you've been meaning to try but haven't yet? A technique, product, aesthetic or project? I just bought my first alphabet stamps and want to try using them for titles on my layouts. 3. Scrappy pet peeves, share yours! right now? my foam squares. They are super hard to pull the little pieces off to expose the adhesive and sometimes end up destroyed in the process. More in general - gendered collections - women use tools, men can cook, girls can skateboard or play video games, boys can ride horses...can we just have the colours and themes with out tying them to a gender? Also - I'm a mum not a mom and I have a favourite colour not a favorite color....would love to see some stickers etc...that use the non-American spellings.

1. What are your plans for this crop? Anything specific in mind you want to get to?
I am trying to find my mojo, it's been sorta missing for a couple months. I just flipped thru some scrapbooks to get inspired. I have a few little things to do like a mini watercolor class, and some digital art for my Mom, then hoping to just make a fun page or 2 to play with products. I am also working on organizing little bit here and there.
2. Talking about all things scrappy, are there any new or upcoming releases you're excited about?
Trying to not pay attention bcz I need to use what I have! I do have SCT C&C cardmaking event coming up, which I am excited for, but trying to put that out of my head right now. I did like the garden theme stuff I saw released by Concord&9th.
3. How's the weather like in your nook of the world?
It is so strange...cold, rainy and even snow a bit this afternoon. It's supposed to be 60s/even 70 all next week. I actually have a massage appointment this afternoon that I am looking forward to, it's been years. I also want to watch Turning Red and Drive to Survive - there's not enough hours in the day!
Excited to see what you all are working on. Hoping to get some things uploaded to Flickr sharing too...

One layout finished.
It was sort of a Christmas theme. It is about the (last) sets of pajamas my mom bought my youngest kids for Christmas. She bought them in August. In October she was diagnosed with cancer & passed away three weeks later.
At Christmas, the gifts from her were still wrapped and given.
It was a very surreal page to make, but felt important.
I used Christmas pp & stickers. I used a border punch that she had bought me. And enamel dots. Plus the character tags that came on the pjs, and a pic of the kids wearing them in January.

Post by Texas Scrap on Mar 12, 2022 17:42:27 GMT
Ah - was at a work conference thru Thursday and totally forgot about this crop! Now Iโm excited for a reason to scrap.
I am working on Day in the life, project life - one week in Feb with a wedding shower (lots of pics), and then probably last week. Also need to download some presets I ordered and organize.
Tomorrow Iโd also like to spend some time organizing stamp sets - would love any suggestions.
On products, I just got the new Pink Fresh - right now line and itโs super perfect for DITL and goes well enough the the AE stuff. I have been holding on 3 orders - one for 2 months (a lot of old lines Iโve wanted for a while), one for a month (Kerri Bradford stamps) and a HS set of stamps. My birthday is a week from today so probably going to pull the trigger on them today or tomorrow to celebrate!
Itโs been cold in Texas, but sunny and warming up today.

Oy vey, this weekend is turning out weird. I had a bit of an accident earlier and cut myself. Dominant hand. So, all is ok. I am freakin' fortunate I could count on a nurse friend living just a couple of bus stops away who checked it out and ruled out needing to go to emergency care. He tended to the wound and I'm now back at home with a wrapped up thumb so actual physical papercrafting is now out of the question. It's fine. I have digital LOs to make for my mother and stepfather's 2020-2022 album. Just finished one that was half-done to get myself right back in crafty mode. But oh the drama! Who knew scrapbooking could be this dangerous? Apologies for the unexpected absence. I'm dropping my first digi LO of the weekend in here and I'm immediately off to commenting on all your pretty creations! ๐ Leaving love for the rest of page 1 ๐ Linda'Cathleen' Holographic accents are one of my favourite metallic finishes in scrapbooking! ๐ I love the dark vibe of your LO with the purple and dark grey (I think) pattern paper. Your daughter's sweet photos just shine (ha) in this moodier setting. I bet it looks gorgeous IRL with all the foil. Those lilac touches soften the look and bring a bit of whimsy. The butterfly embellishment is a lovely nod to her growing up and your documenting of her new school year. Well done! '1st Day of School' Your black and white focus works so well here to complement your daughter's dress. The concentrated strip of red grounds the pictures subtly. I love that you deconstructed the quilted border pattern of her dress and rebuilt elements from it jigsaw-like. It really makes the eye focus on that adorable detail of her clothing. Also, what an adorable face she makes in that close-up picture! Halfway winks for the win... ๐ 'Cool in the Pool' Oooh, how cool that you've recreated a setting of water and sky with those two complementary blue pattern papers. The yellow matting and strip bring the sunshine of summer vacays ๐ right back into the story you're telling through paper. Very smart! The pair of offset photos "breaking" through the yellow line make the eye pause and take in that part of the memory better. I love your thinking to make the different elements of the memory stand out in their own. Simple but really well through through!

sleepingbooty - ouch on the injury - glad you didn't need emergency care and had a friend who could bandage you up but yikes - be careful! I love your layout - I'm sure they were enjoying the sunshine and freedom after so much lockdown. And thank you for you sweet comments! Just ordered a batch of photos - some from this February and then the July 2010 photos which either never got printed or I printed and have since lost. I only have a few left to scrap from Aug 2010. Not sure how much scrapping I'll get done today but tomorrow I plan to scrap all day again.

OUCH, sleepingbooty . So glad you could have your injury assessed and dealt with by a friend. How did it happen? I am basically a clumsy person, and wonder why I don't injure myself more often considering how often I use a craft knife. Your digi pages are beautiful. Love the colours and the layering. They really do give the overall impression of letting go and being free. I just shared this LO in the Sketchy Saturday thread, but bringing it here as well. My two dgk's contracted Covid at school the end of January. They had some pretty bad cold symptoms, but were feeling better before their ten day isolation period was up. They kept pretty busy then, and their mom sent me photos to scrap. What do you DO in Isolation by Gramma Dee, on Flickr POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). Crop points: three dots, torn edge, animal (3)--three in a row (5). Plus twine and an oversized photo (2). Nine photos for the Donna challenge (9). Sketchy Saturday (5). Crafting time 1.5 hours (15). P-3 inked edges (1), P-5 one card (1), P-7 eleven stickers (11), S/I-2 five rectangles (5), S/I-3 sun (1), S/I-6 four hearts (4), S/I-7 banner (1), S/I-9 rounded corner (1), S/I-10 one circle (1), T-6 four layers (4), T-11 torn edge (1), T-14 scraps (1), W/T-2 10<24 words (2), W/T-8 colourful title (2), N/S-3 six patterns (6), N/S-4 five sizes of photo (5) N/S-7 cluster (1), N/S-8 title (2). jeremysgirl you got a lot done! Yay for Jan 2022 literally in the book! ๐ seems like the pre pulling elements worked for you- I see a mix of things from different kits and such- love it! I especially like the mix of colors and patterns in the page with โperfectโ and the yarn. Really drawn to that. Nice job. sleepingbooty I really like how clean your page looks. Itโs very different from my busy PL pages (too busy sometimes but Iโm trying to fit everything in!!!) and I enjoy the calmness of it and letting the pictures really shine. I like the way you matted the pictures with a mix of straight edge and torn papers. grammadee beautiful pages!! Wow, great job working that bingo card. ๐ I especially love the isolation page. What an interesting page for everyone to look back on later to remember this time. I love that you included their art - my favorite! โค๏ธ

Well a scrapper from the west coast finally checking in!
1. Are you a background distraction kind of scrapper or do you thrive in complete silence? If you like something playing while you craft, are you more into movies/series or music? What's on your play/watch list this weekend?
There is usually something going on in the living room right next to my craft room, and DH will call me out to go watch something or see the humming birds. Yes they stayed here and have been hibernating. I even have photos of the hummers in the snow! Other wise the google meet crops are super helpful and give me some companionship!
2. Is there anything in the scrapbooking, cardmaking or general crafting world you've been meaning to try but haven't yet? A technique, product, aesthetic or project?
I am in the same boat as kitbop about the foiling trend, mostly a one-trick pony, and I think my Brother Scan-n-Cut can do something similiar just using a glue pen. I need to learn how to use that function!
3. Scrappy pet peeves, share yours! (ruh-roh, this may start some drama )
How trends with llamas, mustaches, etc come and go. Being American I don't mind the English spellings of certain words . . .
I am still on a kick to get my DT projects done through the summer, and then I think the scrapping mojo will hit. We will be doing a lot of traveling between home and our new teeny tiny lakeside cabin in MN. Its' on 1670 miles away so we will go for two weeks a a time. DH can sail for 2 hours when the wind is up and then work the rest of the day. DS can fish to his hearts content, we found him a great paddle drive fishing kayak. So my weeks home I will prep page kits and my weeks there I will scrap them? Oh and stand up paddle every day I possibly can!

๐ Love for page 2 creations (part 1) ๐ paget 'Last week's PL page' Such a joyful and fun spread! I can't help but smile looking at it. I love how you've worked in contrasting and complementary pairs: the shih tzus vs friends, those 2 4-picture 3x4s, the 2 graphic journaling cards with arrows, the colour block 4x6 journaling card with straight lines and edges vs the airy, white title card with doodly circles. It's just bursting with energy! You have done a beautiful job mixing Ali's handwriting and aesthetic with the clean minimalist look (if I'm not mistake you even created a large title embellishment using a Paislee Press PL card). Great job and super inspiring! Linda'Back to Nature' A fellow non-fan of chevron, how rare in the scrappy sphere! ๐ฏโโ๏ธ *high fives* Seriously though, you made the chevron pattern work really well here. I love this collage pattern of larger photos so everyone in the family gets to shine on your LO. The colour scheme is so bright and screams spring, rebirth. Those embellishments delicately placed around the LO keep the eye travelling and going, creating a path to "read" the story. I love that you kept the photos with the white house in the background on the top row: it brings in a sense of airiness to contrast with the grounding green grass below. 'Suwannee River' Ah, this is your signature style that I love so! Simple but always just right. The photorealistic log paper is perfect to illustrate these camp cabins and constitute the exact state between the trees also present in your photos and the finished homes. Clever design choice, I see what you did there. ๐ The vertical twist on your journaling strip brings a bit of unexpectedness and breaks through the horizontal format of the photos. Very nice! grammadee'The Love of Buttons' Ok, first of all, I need to get this out of my system: how adorable are these photos! Ugh, cute pooch, cute kids, so much love. โค๏ธ I love that you went for a black background for this story and played off the black and white fur of Buttons for your design. It really brings out the photos! You did a great job building a balanced main block that tapers off to each side: it lets the eye close in on on the big journaling strip and main photo with Buttons laying in bed and getting pets. The paw elements are so whimsical and build a pathway to follow the story, from left to right. And those red touches to underscore the theme of love, so perfect. Also, I'm digging your mixed media work so much. Did you use a special brush to create those furry strokes? 'If You Love it Pass it on' I can't help but start with the title because how freakin' clever is that? Pass - small strip 'it' - on. It also spells PASSION from a distance, of course! That's really well done, grammadee! I'm super impressed. I love that you picked up on the primary colours in the photos for embellishing and spelling the title and then used the black of the eletric guitar for your main background element. You let the photos take the centre stage and that's so appropriate for a musical theme. The grunge and rock'n'roll vibes are so well incorporated in your design choices: torn edges, diagonal sheetpaper, multicolour twine (did you use mixed media on regular twine?), different fonts and sizes for the title/names and that big heart cut-out that looks like a guitar pick right over the close-up of hands on guitar strings. Super duper fun!
