I am not into haul videos either. I'll sometimes watch a collection reveal if I am on the fence about buying it.
I use process videos to help me go to sleep most nights. It's not that I think their content is boring, they have soothing voices and talk about nothing I need to pay attention to.
I love going to crops. My main goal when I go is to spend time with my friends and meet new people. I don't care how much I get done or anything like that, as long as it was a nice day/weekend, then I'm happy.

Mine is all about YouTube videos. 1. If you start your video with the finger wiggles, then I am out. 2. If your video splash screen doesnβt show the finished project, I am not going to watch. 3. I listen with the sound off most of the time. If you havenβt started the project within a minute or so, I will forward the video. Somewhere around the 3-5 minute mark, if you havenβt started, then I am out. 4. If your cat walks across your project at any point, then I am out. 5. I am never going to watch your haul video. βThe finger wigglesβ π€£π€£

I feel intense rage when certain crafters show their space (constantly, repeatedly) and the amount of acrylic bins and cubbies rivals any Container Store showcase. Some of these people are so proud of their organization itβs basically all I know of them. I couldnβt describe a single project theyβve ever shared, but I could sketch a picture of their scrap room.

I love me some videos and the longer the better! I'll throw on a 2 hour scrap or card video while I work. But if I don't like your voice? cyaaaa If you're making weird mouth noises? no. just no. If you're constantly swallowing and are way too fucking close to the mic you're using to voice over? nonononono and if you're sighing over and over again like why TF are you even doing this? ughhhh ...one person does all of this and I still watch her AE videos for some reason.. usually on silent tho

Yeah, a person's voice can make or break a youtube video. Or their personality in general. If I don't vibe, I don't subscribe.
Ok this one might be the most controversial one yet: I HATE with a FIERY PASSION the Ikea Kallax cubbies, or any cubby shaped furniture at all. My hatred started much before I became into crafting. I just think it is UGLY and you don't need to separate shelves into cubes. Just why?? You can simply put baskets on a regular shelf if you wish!
That is all.

scrappyrabbit - the cubes construction makes them ultra sturdy. They will never sag the way long shelves often do. But what makes them a real home run is the depth and affordability. I will defend ikea cubes til the day I die. π Also excellent for closet storage. π

Confessions:
I havenβt scrapped much since last fall. Why? Iβm overwhelmed by my desk. There isnβt a place for everything so stuff just mills around. I canβt think at my desk so itβs really hard to create. I work best when everything is within reach but thereβs not enough room with the space I have.
Hoping I can fix that by creating a place for everything but thatβs on βholdβ until I can find a place to move to. Actually thatβs not totally true, Iβve βfoundβ well over 20 places I just havenβt been lucky enough to be allowed to buy any of them. π€π»that I succeed because Iβm done living here, the owner wants to sell & I wonβt buy here due to the way the complex is managed.
While Iβm packing stuff up to move Iβm setting aside things to give away or sell, but Iβm not doing great at that. I hoard. I admit it. I have no issues throwing out clothes. Iβve been brutal in my kitchen with purging. But craft stuff I have issues purging. I have βI might need thatβ syndrome. Lol. It doesnβt help that some of the things Iβve given away Iβve regretted and needed after.

Scrappy confessional: I don't like watching scrapping process videos. The issue is my own. I'm a basic scrapper. I do like the occasional scraproom tour, organizing videos, or scrap haul, but that 10 second fast forward button gets a lot of clicks.

There is nothing on my current wish list & hasn't been for several months due to the repetition of the same themes/icons/sentiments/color palettes, especially the vintage aesthetic, handdrawn illustration style, floating icons, abundance of florals, retro color palettes, &/or similarities in my existing inventory. I miss the plethora & diversity of companies, styles, & creativity in the industry during its heyday.

I couldn't tell you the last time I used an embossing folder. But my texture boutique looks so cute sitting on the vintage tin which holds the folders...so I don't think I will ever get rid of the machine or the folders. π

Okay, this is a confession I kind of hate myself for: I can't stand watching YouTube videos from many UK/Aussie/Kiwi crafters because of their voice. I think it comes down to the fact that I don't like high-pitched voices in general (I'm super sensitive to all sorts of sounds, helloooooo misophonia), and when it's combined with an accent that's not American, the non-American pronunciation actually highlights the pitch of their voice because my brain has to spend more energy to process what's being said. I hate it because it feels very much like internalized misogyny because most of these crafters are women (I always think about how when Hillary Clinton was running for president, there were endless think pieces about how men called her "shrill" when the same statements from a man would be seen as commanding). I think it also might have something to do with the type of regional accent it is, as the "posh" accents bother me more (at least, I think that's how it would be described, I'm not an expert on differentiating British regional accents). The accent that bothers me is kind of like the stereotypical 90s Valley Girl, but British. I'm not sure if this will make sense to anyone else, but it does in my head. I don't want to name names because these crafters are lovely people and their voice can't be changed, so this is not an indictment of them, it's just about the fact that I watch craft videos to relax and if someone's voice grates on my nerves, it's an automatic no from me. Ok so Iβm a New Zealander and I agree with you π I find a lot of the NZ and Aussie YouTubers impossible to listen to as well as any British ones with too much of a regional accent and any US or Canadian ones with too heavy an accent. I thought it was just me being weirdβ¦β¦

Here's mine: -I'm never going to let you borrow any of my tools unless you're sitting right in front of me and I can make sure to get it back. I am so hesitatant to let anyone borrow anything at a crop because of this one woman who caused me too much stress. She was at the table next to mine, and she asked if she could borrow my scissors. I'm not sure why she couldn't borrow some from someone at her table, but OK. I had to go over to her 5 minutes later because I needed them. (I had told her that I was using them, and I needed them back soon.) Well, I guess she thought that because I let her borrow them ONCE, she could just keep coming back and TAKING THEM right off the table WHILE I WAS SITTING THERE. And if I left the table, she would come over and grab them. I kept going back to her to get them, and after the third or fourth time, I told her that I needed to keep them because I was using them. I also made sure to put them away if I left the table or had to put them down. Sorry to hijack the thread for a minute.

Love reading everyone's responses!
I have 2 cricuts and rarely use them anymore. I will probably look into donating one to a school since one has hardly been used. I used to be obsessed with Cricut when it was really popular a decade or so ago, belonging to the Cricut Circle club and was a frequent poster in the cricut message board. If you thought two peas was full of drama, the cricut message board was full of it, lol. Who knew talking about die cutting could get so dramatic.
I don't scrapbook and am a card maker. I don't really take too many pictures and when I do, they never turn out right. So I don't have anything to scrapbook. However, I love paper.
My paper craft collection (including stamps, dies, and other supplies) is probably the size of a small craft store. I have downsized a bit (but not much) and have given a lot of stuff to my teacher friend who uses it for her classroom. Unfortunately, I do fall down the rabbit hole and love watching new releases of certain companies and buy way too much, Spellbinders, Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, Altenew, Honeybee stamps, I love it all. I need to spend time using the stuff I have instead of buying more. Really happy that we're doing more card exchanges at TwoPeas now, I can use up my supplies.
I wish stamp makers would make other sayings instead of overly fluffy sayings like, "I love you so much, you mean the world to me," blah blah blah. Can we get something we actually say to people? Something a bit more realistic or even with a sarcastic touch.

I'm with all of you that can't watch (or listen) to certain YT videos. One thing that gets to me is chuckling at things that aren't really funny. "I chose this pink cardstock for my background." Chuckle. Why is that funny? "I didn't like how this unicorn embellishment looked so I went with a rainbow instead." Chuckle. I guess it could be nervous laughter. I'm sure I'd be uncomfortable recording my own voice. Or maybe they just chuckle all the time.
I'm also going to add that I've seen some youtubers make some great layouts and they seem to enjoy scrapping and then they get on a design team and start cranking out layouts that are quick and easy but they don't seem to enjoy the process anymore. I like a quick and easy layout, too, but when it seems like they're throwing it together to meet a deadline I wonder if they regret their choice to join the DT.

I tend to buy things and not use them. For example, I bought the Glimmer Hot Foil System a year ago and have never used it. I think it's a holdover from when I was in my early 20s and broke. I would buy things (mostly clothes) and not wear them or remove the tags until I was sure I could actually afford to keep them. Sometimes I would end up returning things because I needed the money for bills/food, etc. It's been 20 years and while I'm no longer in that economic situation, the habit has stayed with me all these years.

I had a yard sale once that had quite a bit of crafting supplies. Some people asked if I had a store that closed and I just said yes. Much less embarrassing than admitting that it was all my personal stuff. ππππ

I see my scrapbooks more as photo albums with journalling than creative/artsy endeavours. Part of me wishes I had started digitally and done photo books (looks behind me to the wall of finished and unfinished scrapbooks) but I enjoy moving paper and photos around and choosing colours etc...and the couple of photo books I've done - I struggled with. Partial albums mean you have something to look at and share. A half done digital scrapbook is files on your computer. It can fell like you are not accomplishing anything until you get it printed. I upload completed pages to google photos or onedrive so I can look at them on my phone or share them. It helps but is not the same.
