I agree the 4x4 aren’t friendly if you are doing other sizes than 10x8. I’m not doing it until the week of 6/26 but have started laying out some pages. I’m solving the 4x4 by adding old patterned PL cards to extend their length for a pop of pattern/color and turn them into 4x6 cards. If I run out of room, and want to add more pics or hidden journaling I have 4x4 flip pockets I could put them in over a 4x6 - I’ve done that in my regular PL and like the way it looks.
I plan to use the grid cards for an embellishment, some Ephemera, and small pictures (I normally include small pics in my regular PL so I like that I’ll have a contained space for them.
I used the gold foil words on the transparencies but the foiled big hearts are confusing. What are we supposed to do with them? And why are there so many? I think maybe 10 I can’t remember but it was more than 1 per day.
I wish I didn’t buy the vellum die cuts- way too many for what I need.

For anyone left with the 4x4 dilemma and working in the 6x8 format, SB.com are about to bring a PP configuration with 2 stacked 4x4 pockets + 4 2x2. It's not in stock just yet but in case you're hoarding these cards for a future WITL/willing to wait to finish your current WITL album, it's a neat solution.

This is such a smart set up and I can see it being a fab way to pull in small embellishments, ephemera and almost like a filmstrip look of small 2x2 pics!

Oh that’s a really cool variation of a protector. My Selphy has an option of printing three photos in that configuring with a 4x4 and two smaller pics. I could see that being useful.

Is anyone starting on a different day of the week, like Sunday?
I’m realizing I think I started on sundays in the past to include Mother’s Day and with Father’s Day tomorrow I’m thinking about starting a day early.

I've always had great plans for WITL, and took pictures for many WITL/DITL projects, but never actually made anything. 😳
This week will NOT be a normal week, but it might be a good week to document as we will be at the Mayo Clinic for the week. This is actually the 6th week we will have spent at some Mayo facility this year. I could document the hotel, boarding facility for one of the dogs, trips to HyVee, the patient appointment guides, and the actual appointments. Could be interesting...

So if you are a NYTimes subscriber, a Story Portrait might be a cool thing to add to your WITL - it's a compilation of different stories you've read. You can have it generate new combinations if you don't like the first few stories they pick, and then it has a colored background based on the types of stories you like to read.

Pepper Creations showed a quick flip-through of her prepped pages. So. many. days. of. the. week. repeated. (But I love following someone who leads a different life from the herd of mummy documenters - sorry, no offense but I'm childfree and need both a break from all the children pics + stories and more relatable content from time to time.) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce8w9UHrf9H

If any of you have done a "week in numbers" kind of thing at the end of your week (or in your DD albums at the end of the month? I've seen that too) what sort of info did you keep track of?

I don’t like the look of the grid on them with my writing so I might flip them over and write on the blank side….but then I will lose the little circle with the day of the week and have to make my own. Still deciding on that but chances are I’ll leave it. I’m ready to be done! I’ve never been “stuck” like this with the WITL kits. In my opinion, it needed more 3x4 cards. Could you cut the circles out and flip them over to the other side, tape them back in from the backside? I haven’t seen the cards, not sure if you could punch or die cut them?

I did back in 2015. How many… different books I was reading movies I watched Sons of Anarchy episodes we watched steps walked, active minutes from fitbit times we told the pug not to lick the couch (~2576 times) dog walks ancestors found in my genealogy research carts of books shelved (library job) photos in my WITL smart album at the end of the project Pretty silly things, but they filled in some gaps. I added some little notes as to what books they were, why we walked the dog so few times, etc etc. It might be interesting to add some dollars values since we are in a period of inflation - price of gas or how much it cost to fill up, grocery total. Miles driven might be fun, or hours spent in the car if you’re a family taxi service. Loads of laundry, cans of soda/bottles of wine consumed, meals eaten out? I cobbled mine together at the end of the project rather than planning ahead.

Adding ideas for the "week in numbers" recap: - time spent listening to music/podcasts - time spent commuting - amount spent on groceries - weight of vegetables/fruit picked in the garden (if you grow any and are in the Northern hemisphere where harvest season has started) - number of coffee/tea cups if you're a coffee/tea-holic - time spent on phone/particular apps (there are apps that do this kind of data collecting) - amount of Covid-19 scares/tests taken if you're having a ruh-roh week - actual amount of photos taken for the project (not the amount going into the album/book) - time spent sleeping (if you wear a watch that tracks your sleep) - mood pie chart with percentage numbers attributed to how you've felt over the week - number of bills paid - amount of texts/emails sent/received and/or social media entries posted

OOTD self-portrait ideas (I particularly like the lifestyle section) for those wanting to add their current fashion/style to the project:

I am doing this project for the first time ever even though I've been scrapbooking since about 1998. How do you keep from getting overwhelmed by all of the content out there? I am following this thread and mainly listening to Ali who focuses on the photos and the words, but there are so many creative takes on WITL on Instagram. It's hard to remain focused. I created a folder on Photos, and I'm doing what mom suggested about taking a vertical and horizontal picture so I can have options later on.

For me, this project (and particularly this week) isn't about being creative - its more about getting it done. I can worry about the creativity later but this week is all about just taking the photos. If at the end, when I am ready to put my album together, I decide to be creative, then great. But if its just photos + some words each day, then awesome.

I wasn't good at writing things down nightly like I have been in past years (did my week during the last week of May) and as I'm printing our my pictures I'm struggling to remember when things happened or why I want to include the pictures I took. I don't even try to work on the pages during the week. If you can, great, but there's no need to get this done daily.

Thanks, mom and huskermom98. That really does help. I am used to jotting down notes throughout the day because I keep a bullet journal, so I've started writing things down in the WITL journal. That part seems fairly natural. If I have time, I'll reflect at the end of my day. I haven't decided yet if I'll use the journal or the 6X8 binder. I guess I was feeling "behind" because so many people seem to have prepped their pages. I'll just relax and enjoy the process!

If I have some free time this week, I might make a title page. But I haven't really pre-planned anything this year.

I don’t really prep ahead. It stresses me out lol. I think something that helped this year was in her video Ali said this isn’t 7 DITL projects…..I don’t need to do hour by hour and can step back a bit to notice things. I do like to make a folder in my phone for what I call “stock photos”. Things that don’t necessarily need to be assigned a day and can be used any day during the week in my album. Flowers, rooms, our cars, books, shoes, stuff of life. This is helpful for the midweek slump when I don’t take as many pictures. lanena you are not behind. I literally just spent an hour in my craft room trying to find my WITL journal and products from this year lol. I have too much stuff! 🤣

What’s the name/url/app ( ) of the service to get a screenshot of newspapers for the day? Todays Front Pages is the app I’ve been using. At the last minute I decided to also try doing a daily video with one second clips lol. We’ll see how far into the week I get.

Its 430pm on Monday and here's the photos I have today:
-screenshot of my house camera feed catching me leaving for my morning walk at 630am -photo of my happy dog walking -sunrise -sunflowers I bought for my kitchen -me arranging the sunflowers -prepping a weeks worth of overnight oats -me getting my hair cut and colored -traffic I was stuck in -a plant I bought at the nursery -me driving -my workout clothes all laid out for the week -plants of my back patio -exterior home photo, taken across the street from my house
Most of these photos can be used any day that I need a photo. DH will be home in a bit, so I will take photos with him this evening. I've also asked him to snap a photo or two each day and send it to me to use.

So at the last minute yesterday I decided to also do the one second video montage. I didn’t think I’d make it past a day but wow I love the end result so much I’m considering abandoning the photo version of this project lol.
