Is anyone starting on a different day of the week, like Sunday? Iām realizing I think I started on sundays in the past to include Motherās Day and with Fatherās Day tomorrow Iām thinking about starting a day early. Do it!!!! I started today. Itās been fab. I should have done this. For two reasons. We had a funny thing happen on Sunday that was so typical us and I got a pic. And my spouse believes Sunday is the first day of the week. So now I give myself permission! Itās very early in the week.

I am debating it..I have the photos and can easily switch it up.

So if you are a NYTimes subscriber, a Story Portrait might be a cool thing to add to your WITL - it's a compilation of different stories you've read. You can have it generate new combinations if you don't like the first few stories they pick, and then it has a colored background based on the types of stories you like to read. how do you do this? I poked around on the app and didnāt see anything. help.nytimes.com/hc/en-us/articles/6921803704468-Story-PortraitMight be interesting to compare it over years.

So reflecting on my approach. I have had very chill days the past couple of days. Monday theme was work and I think I only got 10 photos. Yesterday was about celebrating things and I also took very little photos. I canāt tell if I like this approach better than other years because it feels like I donāt have many photos. But Iām also not driving myself nuts taking photos every hours.
Iām doing a song everyday to drive my photos and journaling. My husband suggested todays theme be hump day. Todays is the one day thatās kind of open so I may just take general photos of everything.
I started putting my album together since I have free time because Iām not taking a zillion photos. Itās cute so far.

Looks like my theme will be what arrived in the mail each dayā¦.so far I am three from three for a package Iāve been waiting on for ages full of lots of goodies. This is especially the case as I forgot it was WITL week this week!!!! Also working almost every day means Iām not going to take a million photos of my computer at work as thatās all Iāll see until Friday. And now my dd is sick, and it is her birthday tomorrow. This IS getting a place in the album as so far in the past year my ds was sick at Easter and Christmas and my ds got covid on her brothers birthday and sick on her birthday. WHAT ARE THE CHaNCES?!??!

Hi guys! I've been following along on this thread but never got around to popping in, whoops.
I am playing along this week, I think WITL is my favorite craft project with a start and an end (more than December Daily! I know... unpopular opinion lol). I agree with the comments about focusing on words + photos this week and not worrying about assembling the album... I couldn't imagine putting it together DURING the week, ah!
I did do an album set up ahead of time, but it was very simple and mostly to give myself an idea of how many photos I want per day and the specialty items I want to include. This is my 8th year doing this project and I think my favorite part is searching for specific things to collect photos of (I call it a scavenger hunt) and make that my focus because it's just such a fun process and makes the ordinary very exciting. For example, my album set up has a 3 1/2 inch circle day of the week on each transparent divider. I plan to photograph something every day that is circular that I can punch out to fit the back of that in my album. So far I have my plate of sushi for lunch Monday, my coffee grinder on Tuesday, and a round cracker with salami & cheese on Wednesday.
I also was thinking a lot about my approach this year because of where my life is... my daughter is 17 and is very independent/busy so I don't see her constantly like I did when she was small. Some days I barely see her at all, other days we will spend quality time together. I also found that I am spending a lot of time alone these days, I am an introvert and really like this, but it's just a very different season of life for me. So I decided to really embrace that for this project this year and am really focusing on myself... getting myself in the photo and telling the story of MY week. I am including photos of my family as they are in my life, but when we're not together I'm not hounding them for photos of their days like I have in the past (I was never super naggy about this, but I at least asked). I might include a couple photos of my daughter doing her own thing just because she has some interesting events this week, but primarily I'm just focusing on my life and what I am doing. That left extra space for me to focus on my scavenger hunt items and so far I'm loving it!
My process for this week is fairly simple... take photos throughout the day as I go about my life, including searching for my scavenger hunt items. I am taking my photos 99% with my iphone, but if I use my DSLR I will transfer them to my photo stream at the end of the day. Then, each evening before bed, I am scrolling through my photos and favoriting the ones I will probably want to use in my album. I am also checking off the items on my scavenger hunt list (and giving myself grace to skip some of them or make them up on a later day). Then I am typing up some notes from the day in the Day One app for my journaling.
Each morning I am using the Color Story app to edit all of my favorited photos from the day before and saving them to an album on my phone. Then I'm sharing a select few in my instagram stories.
When the week is over, I will copy my photos to my computer, crop and print them in PSE to the sizes I need, print out my journaling and assemble the album. I want to get at least a little crafty, but I will figure that out when I put the album together.
I'm enjoying the process of collecting my photos/stories each day and really love this project... both the documenting week and the assembly portion.

Thanks mich5481! Mine came out kinda funny. I did no planning/preparation. It's going to be less photo heavy and more word heavy. More of a journal type thing I think. Maybe it was mentioned, but I was thinking "most used apps" or screenshots from phone of storage or displays.

So at the last minute yesterday I decided to also do the one second video montage. I didnāt think Iād make it past a day but wow I love the end result so much Iām considering abandoning the photo version of this project lol. 1 Second Everyday have become some of my favourite projects over the years. I should really get back into it! Such an incredible capture of life. I'm super happy you're enjoying this.

I'm back!!!
So excited to get started.
I need to finish up my travel journal. It's all done except for printing the photos and adding a few embellishments. I also realized that I am LOW on travel supplies so I am giving myself permission to buy some of the travel line in the sale tonight.
I can't wait to catch up on the thread and watch all the videos.
I'm going to start documenting next Monday. If my week is light I'll try to put the pages together daily.
I'm glad to be back and so glad I have time to be crafty right now.

If any of you have done a "week in numbers" kind of thing at the end of your week (or in your DD albums at the end of the month? I've seen that too) what sort of info did you keep track of? I've done this in a travel album before. We've done miles ridden (on a bike), driven (in the car), walked (check your steps on your phone). You can go count the number of texts you sent or keep track of the number of junk emails you deleted every day. Also numbers: cost of gas, degrees it is outside, your house numbers, zip code, area code. Don't forget silly things too. How many rotten blueberries did you throw out because you got the package at Aldi and it was not a fresh fruit day. I try to have fun with it. It's the most ridiculous stuff I really love looking back on. Ooh -- minutes on hold. or the white hearts with the gold trim. I'm saving these for December Daily. I love them but they don't fit with my idea of WITL. For anyone left with the 4x4 dilemma and working in the 6x8 format, SB.com are about to bring a PP configuration with 2 stacked 4x4 pockets + 4 2x2. I feel like I have these from October Afternoon (unrepentant hoarder of OA). But I also think I might have used them all up. So thank you. This is a format I use a LOT. I like to use a 4X4 photo, then a 4X4 bit of ephemera or journal card. Then in the 4 little squares, I'll keep one transparent and put a sticker on it or some other embellishment, one or two for a photo or ephemera, then the last for a journal card or other embellishment. They are great for making one of the squares a sequin pocket or to put fun stuff in. I had some wooden feathers and I stuck three in my travel journal in a pocket of this size and added one tiny staple at the top. I love that it's cool on both sides. So, yeah, I'm back and super excited to start this project on Monday, the day I go in for the skin cancer removal. (Basal cell, round two, other side of my face). I'm totally bringing my phone in with me and propping it up for pics of some sort. They always have me waiting in there. Also might get chemo cream. If not, I will have a bandage on my nose for the week. Will take pics from the other side. I have 7 windows open with instas to watch tomorrow and I don't think it's all of them. Yes! I love it. I like to gobble all the inspiration and pick and choose what will work for me.

It's not in stock just yet but in case you're hoarding these cards for a future WITL/willing to wait to finish your current WITL album, it's a neat solution. The ones I have are Simple Stories. Do they still sell the various sizes of PPs? I like the quality of them.

Well, I've been taking lots of pictures at Mayo and of hotel life this week. I'll find out tomorrow if we are able to drive home this weekend or not. I think it will be an interesting perspective for my WITL.
I think I'm going to need to do some hidden journaling for part of it. Last time we were here in last March/early April, my sheltie Aurora was still alive. I'm finding I miss her a lot when I am walking the other dogs and when I sit in the living room part of the suite at night watching the Office to unwind - I used to give her subcutaneous fluids at night in the same chair the last time we were here. šŖš¢

Shannan has a new video up on Youtube and I thought her approach of putting together the first couple of pages was an interesting way to go about the project. She said she likes to do it that way to make sure she knows the type of photos to get and a good idea of how many photos she might need. She also talks about using pictures from different days, and even taking photos the week before she knew she wanted to use but might not have time to get (in this case, it was places around her office, so the exact day doesn't matter). I take that same approach of being flexible with my photos too since it take the pressure off and future me won't care exactly which day a photo is from, the goal is a snapshot of this particular week over all. I'm super nerdy and like to hear about how other people tackle projects like this, and if you are nerdy like me, you might check out her video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYDHOt2k2J4

I need to figure out a way to incorporate super exciting news into my WITL - I got a verbal job offer today! I do have a partial transcript of the voicemail from the missed phone call from the recruiter, but I won't get the written offer until Monday, due to summer Fridays.

Going through photos today seeing what I like and what I think will work best. It was definitely an unremarkable week.. I can tell by the number of cat photos I took vs pictures of anything else lmao

I haven't seen these stocked by a retailer in some time although they still appear on the website. The SB.com PP quality is really good, however.

The SB.com PP quality is really good, however. I agree! I've been really enjoying using them in my 9X12 Disney album. I'm prepped and ready to start WITL tomorrow. I'm using a Citrus Twist 4X8 in what I think is flamingo. It looks great with the WITL stuff I bought from AE. The first page is the transparency with the words. On top is the heart pocket. It just fits. The second page for each day is a PP with two 4X4 squares. The bottom front will have the 4X6 card cut down to fit. I'm going to put ephemera in the squares. Then the third PP of each day is random. I pulled out 7 different PPs and I will move them around as needed (one for each day). I might use the pleather rectangles but I already have the day in there like 3 other times. My daughter was like, "how many times do you need to know it's Monday?!?" And she's right. But they are cool. I see using them for other things though. Like if I want to do a story about say, trains. I could use the T for that and then stamp the rest of the word. My plan is to document what we're watching and reading using the little vellum things. I would like to have one full-page photo outside the PP for each day but I'm not sure that little album has the space for 7 more pages. We'll see how it goes. I'm getting some skin cancer removed tomorrow so I'm on sick leave the whole week. I have the days so I'm using them to recover. Scrapbooking is for my mental health. I'm hoping I'll have time to make pages as I go since I won't be at work.

I felt it was important to include screenshots of the news because it was so much a part of our lives this week. I am so new to this--I took tons of pictures and I jotted notes down in my WITL journal. I'll have to figure out how to put it all together. Will be looking at Ali's videos and Instagram for ideas.

I decided to go with the one word a day idea. One word, one photo, one story. Probably end up with a 2-page layout. Each word/story was significant for the day. Iām happy.

Iām starting tomorrow. Iām doing my āalbumā as the end of my 6 month PL album. I wasnāt sure how I felt about a whole separate album for WITL since I already do weekly PL pages. It will be fun to have more space for the week- doing 1.5 pages per day vs 1 page for a normal week. Iām going to focus on including stories I donāt normally tell - more about my routines and zoomed out pictures of everything. I donāt normally have a lot of background in my layouts and I know thatās really fun to see later on.
Iāll enjoy seeing some people post online if their weeks so I can get more ideas during the week of what I might like to include. Already have a pretty good idea, though. Will be including more about work and daily household chores which donāt appear typically in my pages. Iāll do lots of screen shots to capture my online life.

Has anyone seen someone use the Some Days scrapbook line Kelly Purkey designed for Pinkfresh for WITL? I thought for sure I'd come across projects using this as a base but so far my quest has been a miss. Thanks in advance!

This week is my first week in the life. I listened to some podcasts about prepping and tips.. and I did what they all said NOT to do. Lol I took way too many pictures. And itās only 7:20 pm. Iām done for today. Iāll catch night stuff/routines another time. Although Iām not really in love with a lot of the shots I got today so I guess I can look for other opportunities later in the week to redo. Iām already feeling overwhelmed thinking about editing todayās pictures down!
I will have to hide my camera from myself š - or maybe Iāll be thankful when the Thursday slump comes everyone warned about and Iāll just want to be done and I can use some material from today then. Lol

What are you all putting in the stitched heart pockets?
I love them but now I'm like, do what?!?
I put the little vellum hearts in there with the day on them (cause I have 400millionthousand of each day of the week).
I found a little white tag but I don't know what to put on it.
Maybe I'll put Day 1 on there or something.

I didnāt buy the stitched hearts- I thought they were cute but I didnāt know what Iād put in the pocket and if something was IN the pocket it seems like the day would be covered up. But since we do have 5 million embellishments informing us what day it is, in hindsight that wouldnāt have been an issue! Lol
Iām doing much better on limiting my pictures today. Probably because today is exactly like yesterday and I already took all the pics. š
