I also figured out a page that I didn't have a photo for. We took sushi to MIL's for Xmas Eve lunch so I considered using a drawing. But I ended up choosing a "holiday tradition" word art and adding a photo of the first Xmas Eve sushi night I remember, 12 years ago when my nibling was a baby. I turned the photo B&W to emphasize that it was from the past. That's a wonderful and meaningful way around the no-photo situation, joblackford . Using an old photo is such a powerful way to underline the passing of time and cementing of your family tradition. And the baby face is just the amount of adorableness to bless your album! I hope you've had a wonderful time with your loved ones after the trip cancellation and weather woes. Hope to hear more about your album in progress next year. You all are inspiring! I still haven’t started on 2022, but I finished 2021 earlier this month. And last week I came across printed photos intended for DD 2020, so I did a junk journal and hope to be finished by January 2nd. Whoa, whoa, whoa, you finished 2021 and are on your way to finish 2020? Slow the train, girl. We can't keep up! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ivm7lm0DayrhoRpwvCeH.jpg) Seriously; major kudos to you for working on TWO DD projects in one month. I can't wait to hear how you take on 2022. Will you be working on it straight away in January or giving yourself a creative break? I've been working on my album today and have managed to get all the way to day 11 done. If you're going until the 31st of the month, you're more than 1/3 there already. If you're documenting until the 25th, you're just a day shy from the halfway mark. You're doing great! Got any favourites (stories, products, layouts) in your 11 finished days so far? I finished my album this morning. I just want to show a couple of highlights from my holiday album. It was a very healing exercise to make this album. Note: my child was transitioning to becoming a woman. She was not very far along in the process and so she looks like a boy. Also, she hadn't yet come out and I have honored her wish not to tell until she was ready so you will see I use her birth name. It is very difficult to ride the line between honoring her inner self and honoring her wish not to go public with her transition. So, while I was fine calling her by her chosen name, it is very difficult to figure out how to proceed when she has passed. Beautiful and touching pages (and photos!), jeremysgirl . Thank you for sharing such intimate and bittersweet moments with us. I find your attention to your child's "in between" stage of their transition very poignant. Trying to honour her wishes after her passing is a testimony to the love and genuine respect you continue to show her. It's the way of the devoted and doting heart. You are forever her mother and you carry her legacy with the dignity her memory deserves. There is possibly no perfect way to proceed with how to refer to her now that she's gone but your enduring care is a testimony of the love you shared. You're doing good, mama. I feel it nearly senseless to bring up aesthetic aspects considering the depth of the memories you've generously shared with us but we're scrapbookers and I must say it: I absolutely love the effect of the gold hardware on those SB.com albums with the other gold products you've used like the puffy word Thickers and that paste (is it the Vicki Boutin mixed media paste by chance? I seem to recognise it). It's such a perfect finishing touch right at the centre of the pages. Lovely! (And your composition style is, as always, impeccable.) I did a lot yesterday! For me anyway since I’m pokey. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I was on a roll so I just kept creating and not doing the journaling which slows me down since I type it on my phone and print and had to fuss with size, etc. journaling is a today problem. 😂 I completed Christmas week project life- but that’s a big spread- it’s a 12x9 double page, 2 flip outs with more content, and a 12x6 insert. I also did pages 5-9 in my December daily. Hey now, that's not being pokey! Christmas week in PL is a lot. Especially with flip-outs. You've gone all in! And you're up to Day 9 already. You're moving along really fast. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/cheer.jpg.gif) How are you liking your DD so far this year? Are you going to continue working on it in January?

sleepingbooty and scrappypeanut paget amp thank you for your kind words about my layouts. Sleepingbooty thank you for understanding that I'm quite unclear about how best to discuss my child's gender now that she's gone.❤️ I also appreciate the comments about my layouts. I did not use any paste. That's simply Tim Holtz distress spray just dabbed on with a dauber. I appreciate all of you too leading me to that Evergreen and Holly line. I think it ended up being just right for an album with the kind of tone mine had.

sleepingbooty - thank you! This is my first DD and I wasn’t even going to do it- I thought I’d just throw dd topics into my weekly Pl And add inserts for the extra content. But during Ali project prep I got caught up in the excitement and decided to do an album. I am having a lot of fun with it so I’m really glad I did it. “Today Me” Also does not feel like journaling! Lol I skipped days 9 & 10 for now and did story 12, 13, 14, and 15 (again, no journaling added yet)!!! I have to take a break and run to hobby lobby. I really don’t want to go but I need some things and I made a strict budget for myself for 2023 so it’s today or never!

It's done! I decided to go only until day 28 (our last day for family celebrations) I only used AEs main kit, the 3x8 journal inserts and a bit of ribbon from my stash. Overall I was happy with my supplies with the exception of the gold puffy number stickers...no enough 1s or 2s to do the entire month (or even part of the month) I should have ordered extra of those but who wants to be stuck with so many extra 7s and 8s! I did buy the number stamp that was newly offered this year and I loved it! I used the distress oxide color pumice stone to stamp the dates on the vellum tags and heat embossed with clear to set them. Turned out super cute. I still need to clean up and put the album on my shelf but it was fun! This was the first kit from AE that I enjoyed working with in a long time.

If anyone has any of those vellum stars leftover or ones they won’t use I’ll buy them?

That makes me crazy! I keep waiting for someone to come up with a PL/DD specific number sticker set that has plenty of 1s and 2s. (I've been waiting so long that in the meantime I've given up paper scrapping. oh well). Good thing you had the stamp ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

I'm about half way through my album, but have all the photos printed except one, and most of the papers and cards in place. It's my last day of holidays and it's still too warm to do much outside here so I'm hoping to do more than sit and watch Christmas movies and actually get some more pages finished today.

I have finally made a start on my 2022 dd and ordered prints for a few days… what a December 2022 was, and most was my own fault 😂oh well, I made sure to take lots of photos as I can always finish later on as long as I have them to prompt me. I decided to stick with my a-z idea and black and bronze embellishments, but as I didn’t have time to take fancy photos they will be printed in colour or as is for the most part. And that will do 😁

Peas, I am done.
I actually finished a couple of days ago but I wanted to let it soak in. I haven't cleaned up the mess yet. The album is bursting.
It was a really rough year but I'm glad I did this.
I'm also so very glad I did a lot of crafty stuff (foundation pages?) in November. December was a shit show and I didn't have time.
I made two foundation pages I didn't use: a tiered pocket page with vellum pockets. I could use that any year. I also made the base for a spread using snowy townhouses/brownstones. It just didn't feel right. Again, I could use that next year. I just wasn't feeling it. Mainly because I had already done a couple of pocket layouts (cheesemas and the swap). Also, it's only paper. I could just recycle it. I had fun making them so I don't feel it's a waste.
It's a bit gloomy outside today. If the sun comes out, I might take some photos. I'm not sure where I left off but I like having the pages in my Instafeed to go back to.

blemon I'm proud of you for sticking with it. Sometimes it's not exactly the vision we had but it is a documentation of the month, a snapshot in time. ❤️

I am still putting the finishing touches on my journaling.
I have a layout on my scrap table to work on!

I have a crazy confession to make, and I think only this group would understand. I finished my 2020 DD and was so happy with the results. Great, right? I went to put it away in my DD storage bin and I cannot believe what I found - another DD for 2020! After brain searching, I vaguely remember doing one in early spring of 2021. It’s no wonder my second came together so fast. The pages are so similar between the 2 books! I guess I have a style and I keep to it. But oh my gosh, I seriously cannot believe I did it twice!

I keep waiting for someone to come up with a PL/DD specific number sticker set that has plenty of 1s and 2s. "They" want to prompt us to spell out '666', I just know it... ![](https://media3.giphy.com/media/xTcf1gUpg87E5lNK2A/giphy.gif) It's my last day of holidays and it's still too warm to do much outside here so I'm hoping to do more than sit and watch Christmas movies and actually get some more pages finished today. I hope you've had a smooth return to work and enjoyed your final day off with pics and movies. I decided to stick with my a-z idea and black and bronze embellishments, but as I didn’t have time to take fancy photos they will be printed in colour or as is for the most part. And that will do 😁 And that will be perfect! You picked a more difficult project and stuck to it so be proud of yourself. December is way too busy to be taking fancy schmancy photos every day anyway. YAAAAAAAY! ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/cheer.jpg.gif) It must feel uh-mazing, especially after the difficult December month you've had. One more chapter to put away on the shelf. That prepped page can always be reused or recycled, as you put it. No need to feel guilt over not managing to fit it in. You worked to make sure you had options ahead of time and then you picked what suited. That's totally normal and a perk of doing all that work in November. Take a bow! (I hope your mother's health is good and stable as she awaits her surgery.) finished my 2020 DD and was so happy with the results. Great, right? I went to put it away in my DD storage bin and I cannot believe what I found - another DD for 2020! Oh my, breakfastattiffanys. I admit I laughed out loud reading your crazy double DD (hehe) story. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/giggle.gif) On the upside, you've now had two paper play sessions to relive December 2020. There's got to be something therapeutic about processing those memories twice, right? To be fair, 2020 was a very, very weird year and our brains have all coped with some level of blackout. Still very funny! Especially with DD being such a big project.

I was feeling like I lost my mind for a bit, but 2020 definitely felt like a time warp. I knew you all would understand. I only have one child who may want the scrapbooks, but my husband is feeling very proud of the new hobby room he created. He is taking all the credit for my mojo. So it’s a win-win!

To add to the hilarity, the pages are so similar. The photos are roughly in the same order, and I don’t scrap DD chronologically! On page 3, I used the same ephemera, a green ticket, in the same place on the pages. It wasn’t even documenting an event that would need a ticket!

Happy new year, Peas! Have people caught up in the Big Freeze thawed out yet? Those temps you were having were ![:surprise:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/nHHHv6SWCjFYROHyRORh.jpg) Sorry you didn't make Iceland this year, joblackford , I hope you can make it one day. How's your mum doing, blemon ? I have lurked on this thread very occasionally over December (your prompts have been great, sleepingbooty) but things have been so very busy and quite overwhelming that I've not been able to contribute. Despite not being on here, I have been working on my December Daily and have just completed day 18 just now. I have been LOVING working on this this time round, normally I feel quite burnt out by now (and don't touch another scrapbooking project for months afterwards) but I just want to carry on which is nice. (Although I'll need to put it to bed soon as I want to try out a PL this year). We've had a few good things here - snow (unusual for us and it lasted for ages), a fox sleeping in the garden, having a new year's eve swim in the sea, and visiting flipping Stonehenge on the winter solstice which is something I have always wanted to do and I'm still in a little heady daze about it all - it was a wonderful experience.

Question. Should I get another album? I don't put these on a shelf. They go in a bin and we bring them out once a year to look at them. This is the chonkiest an album has been. What is the rationale for two albums? Just so you don't break it or so it can fit on a shelf? link
