Question. Should I get another album? I don't put these on a shelf. They go in a bin and we bring them out once a year to look at them. This is the chonkiest an album has been. What is the rationale for two albums? Just so you don't break it or so it can fit on a shelf? linkMy DD's are always big and chunky. I use ribbon and tie them closed. However, I also have them on a shelf. I'll have to re-evaluate that soon because my shelves are full and I'm either going to have to figure out how to fit another shelf or find a different storage solution for my albums. I've never split my DD into 2 albums, so I can't help there. Good job on finishing your DD!

I'm about half way through my album, but have all the photos printed except one, and most of the papers and cards in place. It's my last day of holidays and it's still too warm to do much outside here so I'm hoping to do more than sit and watch Christmas movies and actually get some more pages finished today. I am very envious of your hot weather! I will be complaining in July and August about feeling like I'm living in an oven when I go outside.
"They" want to prompt us to spell out '666', I just know it... Something a Satan worshiper would say.
I'm slowly doing the December Daily album. Some of the pages are just filler. No journaling. No photos. I'm having fun trying the creative prompts, although it is a bit amateurish. I think I can have this done by the end of the month. I still need to order photos. Yes, it will be **2** albums. Two, 5.5 Inch x 3.5 notebooks.

Overall I was happy with my supplies with the exception of the gold puffy number stickers...no enough 1s or 2s to do the entire month (or even part of the month) I should have ordered extra of those but who wants to be stuck with so many extra 7s and 8s! That makes me crazy! I keep waiting for someone to come up with a PL/DD specific number sticker set that has plenty of 1s and 2s. (I've been waiting so long that in the meantime I've given up paper scrapping. oh well). Good thing you had the stamp Quoting myself to say that Doodlebug seems to be releasing calendar date stickers (lots of 1-31s) that might work for daily memory projects. I guess maybe I should post this in the PL thread. http://instagr.am/p/Cm_-eeaLmvB

The album itself should be sturdy enough to survive. I guess it depends on how the book is stashed away - on it's back or standing up - and how it interacts with other things in the bin. I would be inclined to leave it be for a while (maybe a year?) and see how it holds up and/or if you care if it gets a bit bent.

I'm losing steam but I'm trying to go through my book and see where there are gaps or where the pages need some breathing space. The nice thing with building a blurb book is that it's pretty easy to add in extra pages with short lists or full page photos. I think I will add a few pages with ornament close ups. I have about 70-odd pages so I can add 20-30 more if I want to (based on past trade book JYCs I've done) but I might keep it a little shorter this year. I ready to tidy up Christmas tomorrow.

What is the rationale for two albums? Just so you don't break it or so it can fit on a shelf? linkTough one. Personally, I’d loathe having two albums for DD. I don’t like having to use two for a whole year of PL, so there’s just no way I’d tolerate it for a 25 day project! I think the reasons to avoid a bulging album are so that it can sit upright in a shelf among other books, to protects the pages inside, and to flip through comfortably. I think another potential issue is if the weight of the pages pulls the rings apart. Is it possible to reposition some of your contents so they take up less height? Like spread out the tags, rather than stack them, etc.? I think you could save some space that way, but your album looks easily double wide, so I’m not sure that chonk is ever going to be be an easy fit in a single album! 😂 I

I'm also losing steam, I'm ready to be done with my album. I'm nearly there, I've got seven pages still to complete but six of them are at least half done, and the last one has everything in the pockets but nothing else completed. I'm going to try and push through it this weekend so I can pack it up and move onto other projects.

I haven’t had a chance to work on mine for a while but I’m not sick of it - probably because I haven’t worked on it in a while! Planning to do some this weekend. I have no hopes/expectations of a finishing date besides wanting to be done before next Christmas! Lol That way I can just work on it whenever it sounds fun and I need a little Christmas cheer. Is anyone going to share more pages? I really enjoyed seeing some earlier in the month. I will try to share some this weekend, too.

Well, I am at about day 11. There are a couple days preceding that are not complete- I need to set up my sewing machine to make a few pockets. I always think it’s such a hassle, but afterwards think “well that was so fast and easy!”, so I don’t know why I continue procrastinating.
I’m not losing steam! I’d like to be done within a week. Once the kids return to school I expect THAT is when I’ll be mentally done DONE done with this project and cranky to still be dealing with it. So, I’m keeping that in mind and trying to pace myself accordingly!

but your album looks easily double wide, This made me laugh. Is anyone going to share more pages? I really want to take some photos but it has been so gloomy here I'm not getting much natural light in the windows. Maybe this weekend. Then I'll post them to instagram. I think I left off around 11 so I've got plenty to share. I love having the record of them in my account.

I'm finally done. I debated on finishing with Christmas Day since we ended up not traveling, but I had enough to go thru New Years so I did (plus it was the first time in forever that DH & I did anything on NYE). The last 2 pages I did were simple collages with the number glued on, but I'm ok with that!
I even did a page for the 1st because I had a picture of DS17 watching football knowing he had won the family fantasy football season. I love that he was fine with me telling him that the traveling trophy was going to be going with him to college (DH won last year so this huge trophy has been in my house for too long already...). It was a good place to reflect/mention that this was DS's last Christmas before graduating, but I didn't get to relish us all being home for it because we were only home because I was sick (only the 3rd time in his life we've stayed home over Christmas).

I’ve got probably 5 days left to do/finish and was able to put finishing touches on 3 others that were in process today. Usually I am burned out, but I really want to actually finish 2022 and do it soon so I can put away the Dec Daily stuff and refocus on PL.

I do nothing during December other than take photos, take notes on what happened each day and jot down some page ideas. My album is mostly designed/sketched out and I ordered photos. I’ll start putting the album together next week.
I tried printing at home and working on my album each day but that did not work for me. I don’t have a large format printer and most of my layouts do not include page protectors. I order photos. I also found I lost steam on my album with the chaos of Christmas. Just too much. I like having some breathing room between December and starting my album.
Good luck to everyone with your albums!

I started off with such dreams to actually complete DD this year in a reasonable timeframe. I started off strong and have Days 1 - 7 done and printed, Days 8-10 are waiting to be printed and then my family came down with winter colds. For two weeks someone in the household was sick. We all recovered just prior to Christmas but my motivation suffered. My new goal is to have it done by Feb 25th.
Good luck all, lets keep cheering each other on.

Finally received prints for days 7+. Hope to get them all laid out and planned this weekend so I can put it on the shelf. This was such a weird holiday season and I just want it done.

I'm nearly there, I've got four pages left to complete, and one of those will take me about 2mins as I just need to list my top 5 favourite hallmark Christmas movies this season. I'm working on it this morning and I intend to get it finished today. Wish me luck!

I'm about half way finished with mine. We were all sick for the week before Christmas. Thankfully I took pictures, but nothing seems merry or special about those days. But gonna push through and finish before the end of the month. I don't like working on it later in the year.

And I'm done! I was sick of looking at the same supplies so I'm happy to be able to move onto something else once I put away the leftovers. I've just done a final flip through and even the pages I was a bit ho hum about while I was working on them today look good in the album as a whole, so I'm really pleased with how it's turned out.
I hope everyone else is making progress they are happy with.

It wasn't so dark today so I took photos of the rest of the book. http://instagram.com/p/CnKcGNTuKCO I'll post a couple of times a day so as not to overwhelm anyone's feed. So check back on instagram if you want to see it all but I won't spam the thread with all the pages. I'm just doing quick crappy editing on my phone. It's not like this is my job. lol. I just got offered my almost dream job and I am so excited.

I am so glad I did not buy a DD kit. I came close so many times! I hardly bought anything for DD, and thinking by small Christmas stash would be enough. I’m half way through, finished day 12, and I’ve barely made a dent in my supplies. Unless something insanely marvelous comes out this year, I’m pretty satisfied not adding anything else to what I’ve got. Probably just an album.

Still waiting on my photo order to arrive to start 🙄🙄🙄 Me too! Then I’ll be able to do DD and finish PL for 2022. Because I’m a glutton for punishment, I’m backtracking and working on past years. I did DD from 2010-2014, then stopped until 2021. So I’m working on 2016 for funsies. Lol! It sounds like I don’t enjoy it, but I really do. I’m skipping a few hard years, but I already had photos printed and memorabilia saved for quite a few years, so it’s nice to fill in some of the gaps.

Instead I just slapped it together and it's my worst DD ever. I feel a little better that it's on a shelf, but man, you'll be able to tell when you go through it that it was just not a good holiday for me. Maybe that's for the best though.

I think when you pick it up in 6 months or so and flip through it you'll find that it's not nearly as bad as you thought. And it's done. You can always go back and add some embellishments or clean up things you rushed. I know I don't like every page I do and get really bummed about it. But then when I look through the whole thing, I love it. All the little things that aren't perfect don't even matter anymore.
