What are you so outraged about?
I agree with the author that many leaders made decisions with the interest of the community in mind, using data that was known at the time. I also think that we would have been much better off if the virus had been made the enemy rather than the āother side.ā But, that is not where some led us. Why do you want to stay stuck in that?

No problem. There were mistakes made all the way around.
One important comment made is the vaccines that kids are not getting now... Childhood vaccines save lives, some their own and those who cannot get the vaccines.

No, I donāt believe so. She has just been very outspoken against any and all things done to try and curb the Pandemic (and anything democratic/liberal, Biden, etc, etc ). IMO, most of her comments have been that everything was handled incorrectly; we should not have worried about a certain percent of people dying; and it was just flu so what was the big deal. |

Just because I followed the protocols laid out for us and the science as we knew it, does not mean that I called anyone names or anything of the sort. What I know is, even if the social distancing did not save a single life, I don't regret doing it. I still have not had COVID. What I also know is even if masks were worthless, they caused no additional harm. So I don't feel like masking, even now is a terrible idea. What I also know is, YouTube is not the place I get scientific information. I prefer to follow experts in their field. And I also know this virus was something we had never seen before so it was alright with me if the recommendations changed on the daily. We only knew what we knew. In light of the point above, I give grace to our leaders who were trying to adapt to these rapid changes in the best way they knew how. They didn't act with malice. They did the best they could with the information we had. And in this society where disinformation runs rampant and there are "alternative" facts in play, I can't even imagine the kind of confusion that plagues our leaders. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that our society is very divided. Now we have a choice, we can extend compassion and understanding to people who thought they were doing the very best thing they possibly could for the good of society, we can understand that this was a situation where there was a lot of unknown. Or we can keep on beating our drums with the rightness or wrongness of hindsight. And that is not the kind of person I want to be. |

No, in March 2020 we did not have plenty of information. Why focus on blaming Dr Fauci, scientists, doctors, school boards etc for giving advice or making decisions based on what we knew at the time. Why not focus on what we can do now to help kids with learning loss? Or what we can do now to prevent future pandemics? I know conservatives love to be outraged, but itās time to move on from the 2020 election (that was not stolen) and what happened with covid in 2020. If you insist on looking back, please remember that Trump was in charge until Jan 2021. |
