I'm done for the day, too. I'll watch the wrap-up from the comfort of my couch. I made 9 cards and I'm so happy with them. Your Lawn Fawn colouring turned out great, MDscrapaholic! Your shading on the crow girl looks really good! I skipped Brutus Monroe because I know he likes to go on a long time and I wanted to spend some time with my DH this evening, plus my back is sore from sitting hunched over all day. I used my Altenew stamp mat from the Stamp Wheel to do my stenciling, and wow, it was awesome. I didn't need to tape anything down, it all just held beautifully. I'm for sure going to pick up the large square Waffle Flower grip mat for this purpose. What a great innovation this was.

Wow. They're not going to have a card event in March next year. They will have one in September, though. She said it's time for them to take a step back.

Yes, they're only doing one of those also, it will be in April. Cards in September and holiday in November.
Their one-day event in July was successful - Merry Wishes, so they're doing that again in February.

So many of the events by other companies are currently around holiday cardmaking. I am personally not drawn to those. I am hoping the other companies will spread to more variety in their classes. I may go back to the papercrafting event if there are now only 2 from SCT. We'll see...

It sounds like there are a lot of events coming from various companies - Catherine said 2 companies asked her for advice on doing their own, plus we have all of the other companies that already do them- TE, PF, C&9, etc.
It also sounds like there will be a few 1-day events with SCT - she said a 1-day scrapbooking event is coming, too. Feb.10 is Celebrations Delivered. I think she said that Gina K and C&9 will be involved, unless I misunderstood - I wouldn't want the 1-day events just to be SCT products.

I think this was referring to the stamp with me monthly subscription thing not the 1 day event. My impression is there are going to be more single company events in 2024 that’s why SCT is scaling back to 1 huge event.

I have done some of the individual company classes and enjoyed them. Happy to hear there may be more offerings coming in 2024. I think what makes the SCT CCD events different and fun is seeing all of these companies interact together, highlighting themselves, but also supporting one another. You don't get that with other events. I do have to admit the SCT CCD boxes have me spoiled so the kits that come with smaller events are a bit of a let down. Honestly though, I do not need a giant box of supplies twice/year, but it is fun to receive them.

I think this was referring to the stamp with me monthly subscription thing not the 1 day event. Okay, thanks, my live feed glitched for a few seconds so I did wonder if I missed something there. I really do hope the 1-day events are a variety of companies and not just SCT designs, although their designs have been perfectly nice, just not as exciting. I'm going to sign up for the first one, and I will for sure do the scrapbooking ones because those have to be using other manufacturers I do have to admit the SCT CCD boxes have me spoiled so the kits that come with smaller events are a bit of a let down. Honestly though, I do not need a giant box of supplies twice/year, but it is fun to receive them. I feel the same way. I know when March comes around I'll really miss getting that big box. No one is going to be able to replace that excitement. But it is a lot of stuff to incorporate into my craft room. Now I'm going to have to rethink which events I'm going to do next year, I had made a decision to stick to C&CD and stop doing PF and all others because I had been doing too much. I might try C&9 or TE.

Last day today! Everyone ready to rumble?! Many thanks to those who commented on my cards. I'm hoping to see yours up soon!
I just signed up for the Celebration event on Feb 10th. I did not do the one-day event in July (Merry Wishes) so I'm hoping it will be good. I am glad they are at least still doing the September event next year. I will definitely sign up for that.
Have a great day everyone!

Shakti , I'm not sure when the PinkFresh/Pretty Pink Posh event is. I loved Cathy Z's class this morning, got all three cards done. Left the banner sentiment off the third card because I don't know what I want it to say. LOL I'm now sitting out the Altenew class and preparing for the Hero Arts class. And watching football... LOL

Enjoying seeing the completed cards. I’m slowly making my way through one class a day. Right now I’m taking a break from Spellbinders. I’ve also done Honey Bee, Stamps of Life and Taylored Expressions. Did I already mention that Taylor sold me on getting a Minc? 😄
Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t plan on doing any more classes. I haven’t made it through even one in the allotted two hours. I keep pausing the video and it’s taking me three hours or longer to get through! I’m sincerely hoping that the past two months of inactivity and a lot of pain meds are what is slowing me down. I’m really hoping that this isn’t a sign that I’m getting older faster than I thought!
And a thought - did any of you see the post from Jen asking people to stop using the word disappointed to describe how they felt about the schedule changes, even if they did have positive things to say about the changes after that? Got me thinking. I’m not sure how I felt about that. Personally, I’m not disappointed. I had already decided that this was my last card making event and I’d stick to paper crafting and holiday for now. But if this change had happened last year or the year before, I would have felt disappointed. I would have totally understood and happily gone along with the changes, but back then these card events introduced me to many new things and people and techniques that I wasn’t finding any place else. I would have been disappointed to lose that. Fast forward to now and I’m good! I’ve got tons of supplies I still need to use, I know companies and teachers that I enjoy and I’m comfortable trying new things. I’m ready to move on. But back then, I wouldn’t have appreciated being asked to not express disappointment and I understand how people might not appreciate that message now, especially new-comers.
Just thinking in print here . . . . Chalk it up to being home bound on meds for a couple of months!

I don't see anything wrong with someone saying they're disappointed. That means they love the events, that's a good thing. If they used it in a harsher way, like "Catherine, you're a huge disappointment" then yes, I get it, but I don't see that at all. People are disappointed they won't have a big box of goodies and an exciting event in the Spring, which is totally valid and not at all negative, in my opinion. I don't like to be told not say I'm disappointed, in that way. Glad you found a pace that works for you lindamh. When I finished up last year's events a few weeks ago, it took me probably the same length of time as you, because I didn't rush and I paused the videos a lot and just generally enjoyed myself. I loved Cathy Z's class this morning, got all three cards done. Left the banner sentiment off the third card because I don't know what I want it to say. I left the banner off her third card, too. Well, I substituted my own, a Stamp Market one that says "Happy bday". I wouldn't really use the sayings in the C&9th set, but I did put "you're on my mind" on 2 of the cards, I figure I can stamp Happy Birthday on the inside and make them birthday cards. I got all 3 of Cathy's done and 2 of Altenew's. it's a rare beautiful day here so I went outside to get some Vitamin D and skipped Libby's class.

There's a code for $25 off the Hero Arts StampALong in November. I just signed up for $20.
Edited to add: Libby put up a graphic at the end of her class just now.

Oh, jeepers. My butt is sore from sitting all weekend! I just finished the Hero Arts class. Very clean and simple sympathy cards. I know I will use these often. I did a few of them a little different from what Libby did. The last class is going on now, the new Picket Fence people. I'm going to save that one for later. Speaking of Jen's post, I did see that, and I was surprised. I can only imagine that some of the posts were hurtful, or perhaps she is so tired she doesn't have it in her to respond to each one. I thought Catherine was very clear - it's just too much. They need to take a step back and regroup. Supply chain issues continue. She is missing a lot of time with her kids, who are grown and out of the house now. Her staff is working almost 24/7 to do these events and keep everything else going - the magazine, the clubs. Something has to give. There are some people on that Facebook page that can't lift a finger to help themselves. Always asking for this or that, when it's all right there if they took the time to look. I'm sure that gets wearing for the staff after a while. Sometimes I feel like saying something, but I know better. Even after repeatedly being told not to ask questions that are not pertinent to the class, they're still asking where to find the list of discounts and how long are they good for. Jeepers. I am one of those disappointed, too, but I understand. I'd rather have one a year than none. This is the only one with multiple companies, all coming together for us. And they all encourage one another! I've been reading the chat when I can, and they're using products from every company, not just their own, and they're naming them and telling us "this is good. Get this. Try this." They certainly are enablers. LOL. I wanna get a StampWheel and a mini Minc now.

I think the Hero Arts class has been my favorite of all weekend. I love these cards too much to make them sad cards by putting the sympathy sentiment on them. I want to make all her samples. I was playing away and realized I was 35 minutes late for the last class so I guess I'll be doing that one later. Overall this has been a great event. While on one hand, I'm disappointed that they are only doing 1 event, my wallet is glad. At least now I can commit to the PF event in March.

Get this. Try this." Catherine's decision makes sense. Yesterday there was a comment from one of the manufacturers that they were working on this product last March, and that they basically work on C&CD stuff year round - and I did wonder how sustainable that was. So, it makes sense to go to once a year for cards, it will relieve a lot of pressure, and they can still do smaller events. I still found everyone really respectful on the FB group, but maybe I just missed some harsher comments, who knows. I really appreciated how the teachers used each other's products, too. I always learn so much and get such great tips, ones I wouldn't get if I just followed the instructions in the booklet. I really love the HA cards, and I thought the PF class was good, too, although I didn't do that one. Still, I was happy to be introduced to them, they have some cool things on their website.

The build up for this event is huge, that is a large part of the draw of the event. So on the flip side, being told out of the blue, that there will not be two full events a year like there has been, is a disappointment to many. I’m bummed because I do like the huge mix of product from various brands that I don’t always buy from. I’m not as interested in doing smaller events or events with just one or two brands. I enjoyed the PF event, but it was definitely less diverse then the C&CD events. I did take advantage of the $25 off coupon for the Hero Arts event. Really can’t beat that deal!

IIRC, Libby said they were going to be released later. The HA design team didn't even have them yet.
It's such a pretty set that could be used for any occasion.

I’m glad they’re scaling back the events. They got so big and it shows. I can understand that it’s not sustainable! Especially without limiting numbers like they have been doing.
The scrapping ones seem like they’re smaller, although with the supply issues, it still creates a headache no matter what. I wish they’d still do two of those because so many other companies ARE NOT doing them like the card ones are, but I still get it from a planning and time perspective.
I also feel like the card events overshadow the scrapping ones being right after, so maybe now the scrapping ones won’t feel like we’re the ugly step children 😂
