I just want to address the Biden is not "doing anything": Right? Anytime someone says he's not doing anything, it tells me that they probably just watch Fox news.

Yes he is old ,yes he is too old but you know what’s I will happily vote for him, because he is still better than anybody in the republican party or should I say the Trump Crazy party.

I mean... I guess? We already went through one Presidential election where Biden was the candidate and his stutter/speech/age/mental faculties were a major issue. The stutter, his gaffes and his struggle with public speaking were talked about ad nauseum. And if you weren't paying attention during the election of 2020 when the very future of our nation was on the line, why are you suddenly paying attention today, 9 months before the general election season officially kicks off? ETA: You as in general you, not you as in cindyupnorth. I know you've been paying attention, lol! In defense of those who didn't know/remember, for many of us, 2020 was a long time ago. I do recall his stutter coming up quite a bit during the election, now that you mention it, but since that election, I've had my mother fight and beat breast cancer, my father fall ill and die from ALS, been a primary caretaker for my grandpa until his death, had a job change, currently undertaking a huge house update in preparation for a move. My brain opted to dedicate storage and processing to my own life's challenges instead of remembering the speech impediment of a president. 🤷♀️ I just want to say that I am sorry you have had such an incredibly hard road with your family these past three years. I am sorry for your losses and proud of your mom! (((Hugs)))

Now you’re just being argumentative. You know as well as anyone that neither of them are serious candidates. Robert Kennedy spouts conspiracy theories and has Republican donors. Williamson is a self help author that promotes spiritual healing and no one has ever heard of her. Longshots at best, kind of like libertarian and Green a party candidates. Yes, they’re on ballots but no one takes them seriously. You’re arguing for the sake of arguing. How is she being argumentative? The statement was made that no other democrats are running and she merely pointed out that there are 2 others. You don’t have to take them seriously, you can think whatever you want about them, they may or may not show upon the ballot but they are running as democrats and there’s nothing argumentative about that. You’re both arguing technicalities. Yes, they’re technically candidates. But no one takes them seriously. Have you heard of Ryan Binkley or Perry Johnson and do you consider them serious candidates? Those 2 are probably more serious candidates than Williamson and Kennedy.

Not going to take the time to address all of the things said separately.
Believe what you will, but I really give zero shits about politics. Yes, years ago I’d argue with the best (and worst) if you. That’s not me any longer. I just don’t care. I’ll admit I’ve not even voted the last two election cycles because I’m just disgusted and want no part of it.
I don’t participate in political shit here or anywhere else. I don’t watch Fox News or any of their (or any other) talking heads. I’m just not interested.
Yes, this did begin because I have seen enough and was alarmed. Yes, I got “sucked into the politics” by posting about inflation. I know too many people that can’t afford to live. I know people my age that aren’t able to eat every day and pay for housing, can’t afford an oil change or hair cut. There are a LOT of people hurting and there doesn’t seem to be any hope on the horizon that it will get better. That’s about the depth of my political interest.
So say what you will…clearly you all know me better than I know me. You know my intentions better than I do.
Seriously though…based on my board activity in the last 2 or even 3 years, do you honestly think I’m the same person. But ya’ll were very quick to dish out the ugliness that I remember so well.
Seems like I’ve made a lot of changes for the better and happy in my life. Seeing some of the ugly stuff directed at me, there are many of you still stuck with unhappiness.
Maybe if some of you would let go of all this political angst, you’d feel better every day.

Lots of us don't have the privilege of being disengaged from politics, because what's happening right now is life and death for us and/or those we love. But you do you. While you're bringing up inflation and housing costs, you might want to have a gander at this tidbit x.com/johncusack/status/1705244016793538687?s=20. I agree with you that what's happening now is unsustainable. We will have to disagree that it's Biden's fault (or the fault of any single president). Unchecked capitalism and a failure to fund higher education are what's demolishing the middle class. I don't have the privilege of "letting go" of that concern because I'd like not to have my GenZ kids moving in with me after college. I'd like them to have the same opportunities that I did. I'd also like them to have bodily autonomy, be safe in their home state, and have the right to have their vote counted. All things of political concern right now. I am an activist because I love my kids, plain and simple.

No I haven’t noticed what you mentioned in your post. I saw the President make a very articulate speech at the UN a few days ago. Did you watch?
Interesting that you mention this, because I did hear Donald Trump recently confuse some things. He said that President Biden threatened o lead the US into “world war two” – and suggested that he, Trump, thought he had beaten Barack Obama for the presidency back in 2016. Someone is confused, but it’s not Joe Biden.

27% cuts: -Social Security Administration this would not be a killer for me, although it would hurt a bit. It will be devastating for some people, particularly children , disabled and seniors...
The following could cost lives, but definitely will hurt families, again particularly Children!! The pro-life party is showing their total lack of caring for others. Life truly does not matter to them nor their followers!! -Nutrition assistance for poor newborns -Money to ensure our drinking water is safe -Most federal education money -Federal cancer and stroke research

I am reposting this from page one. I included two threads where we have discussed Biden, but the OP chooses not to respond or acknowledge them after she said you all don't want to discuss it.. the bold in your quote is also mine! Just two, liberal news outlets. It’s not me and it’s not my news sources. Main stream and even liberal media outlets are beginning to acknowledge that Americans, including large numbers of Democrats are concerned. Don’t shoot the messenger just because you all don’t want to discuss it. Actually it has been discussed right here on this message board in several different threads. If Biden doesn't run, then who? Another, should Biden run? 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/141309/ok-joe-biden-who2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/140831/president-biden-decides-run-afterThey have fallen to page 4/5 I think... I forgot to look at the page numbers.. There have also been discussions within some of the general political threads when the topic comes up.

It doesn't improve the discussion to say you don't vote, and yet suggest that you might be affected by what is going on in the country. Why wouldn't you vote when something concerns you or your loved ones?

So by your post you’re assuming that everyone (but you of course <eyeroll>) who has participated in this thread needs joy in their life. JFC. Because you watched a game of some sort today, went to a sunflower field, and you’re taking your dogs out tomorrow you’re special/full of joy, or are you just being a nasty person? Sorry honey, many of us have plenty of joy in our lives, and they have nothing to do with seeing sunflowers, dogs, and/or starting numerous threads to say “look at my photos, look at my photos!!!” Sheesh, you are something else. Wanna know what I did today? What I have planned for tomorrow? What I did yesterday, what I have planned for next week? Shaking my head. Poor pitiful me, I have no joy 😉 but at least I know the most basic things about my president, as well as being up to date on politics (again, while not posting on pea political threads) and I vote. So, there’s that. ETA 9/24: I want to apologize for clapping back so hard, that’s not my typical MO. Clearly I let this pea get under my skin, buts it’s no excuse for my bad behavior. Anyhow, I am very sorry to both @gajenny, and the peas.

I hope you all are able to find some joy tomorrow If you're sensitive about where you get your news from or your politics, maybe don't lead with a clip from the GOP war room. Multiple people on this thread have questioned your source. Instead of dismissing those questions or deflecting, maybe you could consider that your source might be biased. I'm not making assumptions about what affects you or why you didn't vote. But, if you post a clip from the GOP war room as evidence, then get defensive about it and confess you were not aware of Biden's speech disorder, I'm probably going to make assumptions about where you get at least some of your news, which politicians you're listening to or which side of the aisle you're likely to be aligned with. Also, algorithms. I don't know how you discovered the video. But, I guarantee this video is not anywhere on my you tube or other social media sites. Even if it did somehow make it to one of them, knowing the source, I would not give it any credibility, watch it or post it on a message board as evidence of Biden's rapid decline. A quick google search for Biden repetition and partner - the top results are conservative media- Fox, NY Post and Daily Mail. I'm guessing mainstream media did not cover the word repetition, because it's not a story. More likely, it is typical of this president who has a lifelong speech disorder. I did read your posts with links to mainstream media regarding polls and concerns about Biden's age. Again, concerns about Biden's age are reasonable but not proof that Biden is declining or rapidly deteriorating. Quotes from mainstream media about something tangential doesn't give your initial point and source any more credibility.

aj2hall Emphasis, over and over again.. the woman sitting 3(?) places dow from him is nodding her head.. 1..2..3.. times The fact that you didn't know he has a speech impediment makes me think that you are not very informed. CNN and the Washington post are not liberal news outlets. In general the media has been failing us. Continuing to have a democracy is much more important than Biden's age.

Since you all insist on questioning her source here’s one for you Forbes Breaking News.

Ha! So initially, everyone questioned my source and accused me of not using the correct source of media to reference and then when I quote known liberal sources for reference, somehow there’s still an issue with my sources of reference. Got it. It’s not just right leaning media you can’t stand. It’s any source that questions anything you don’t want to discuss. That’s how politics goes here. edited to add - his accomplishments? Inflation at a 40 year high and the middle class struggling to make ends meet like I’ve not seen since the Carter administration. Come on now. In your OP, the only "evidence" you referenced was a YouTube video posted by a GOP propaganda maker. And now you want to cry persecution and say that it's all from clips you've seen on NBC? Head on over to the thread about how leftists need to jump on the Biden bandwagon. I have several posts there talking about how useless Biden has been in protecting the constitutional rights of people in red states like mine. I can talk negative about him for days. I didn't support him in the 2020 primary and wish to goodness we'd nominate someone else now. I am sick to death of old white men running this country - Biden included. I wish they'd all shuffle off into the sunset because they're not doing anyone any good. But because I can hold two competing thoughts simultaneously, I can also be realistic about how negative media portrayals have affected people's thoughts of Biden's age/fitness, to the point where they see danger signs in simple speech disfluency caused by his well-documented stutter. Let's quit with the all or nothing cry of "you won't agree with my negative characterization here because you never want to discuss anything negative at all!" Life isn't like that. ETA: Came back to add this article from last year about how and why the middle class is struggling. Would be interested to hear your thoughts, and specifically what you'd like to see our government do to help the middle class. time.com/6171292/middle-class-falling-behind-economy/Just wanted to echo this. After watching the GOP War room clip, I'm inclined to believe his repetition of the word partner is a sign of his speech disorder, not a sign of mental decline. Do you have clips from NBC showing this rapid deterioration? I think people would be more likely to discuss your concern, if you had a more neutral source. Your quotes from more reputable media sources regarding polling and concerns about Biden's age are a side tangent and not proof of rapid deterioration. Again, do you have a neutral source for his mental decline? I think people would be willing to discuss that from a reliable source.

Longer, but yes he repeated partners several times. After the other clip I posted could have been repeated for emphasis.

If you're sensitive about where you get your news from or your politics, maybe don't lead with a clip from the GOP war room. Since you all insist on questioning her source here’s one for you Forbes Breaking News. No one is questioning that Biden repeated the word partner. The important questions are did President Biden repeat the word because he has a speech disorder or did he repeat the word because he's suffering from a mental decline? Have you addressed Trump's recent interview where he rambled and talked about defeating President Obama and impending World War II? Curious what you think of Trump's potential cognitive impairment?
