The crop on Friday was so nice! It was fun to see you again joyfulnana. I look forward to these get-togethers. Linda, I love all your pages. Those nautical icons, the hexagons, the map paper with the photo of the sign and all the little houses are the perfect embellishments for your pages. Your "Almost 2022" and "Happy New Year" are great designs that I can scraplift. Thank you for posting them. Did you do all those that evening??? I finished one and was very proud of myself! LOL I hope you know that when I said you were looking a little gray I was referring to Dusty up against your screen. He's always welcome. joyfulnana, gramma, and kellyr21, I'm sure you are glued to your TV's. DH is watching but I know he will fall asleep. This chemo treatment on his face is keeping him awake at night, but he sleeps pretty well in his recliner. May your teams all play well!

Went down a rabbit hole today. 11:30AM, Instagram feeds me a clip of Sutton Foster singing "Shy" from "Once upon a Mattress". Follow the lead...and realize it's on Broadway, ending this coming weekend. 4:30PM - Katie and I are booked to fly to NYC Friday after work, see the show Saturday, and come home Monday afternoon. Wait - what? I am so frugal normally. And a planner. Did I just book a last minute trip? I think I'm....excited!

kitbop , I am so happy for you and Katie! Doesn't it feel fun to splurge on something once in a while? I wish I could reach high enough to give you a high five! gramma , I think I am the 6th to vote for you to go with your sister. You can always catch a scrapping cruise. Isn't cropping with us more fun than cruising with strangers anyway? LOL

Yay to everyone! To kitbop taking a weekend trip to NYC like a celebrity And gramma yay you are going to go cruise! And yay to the Chiefs lol. It's not looking good for your team gramma. It's so weird, last weeks game I was on the edge of my seat. I thought today would be just as good and it was a little boring. Chiefs can repeat, Kelce can retire and tour with Taylor, and the Chiefs can have a rebuilding year lol.

Did you do all those that evening??? I finished one and was very proud of myself! LOL I hope you know that when I said you were looking a little gray I was referring to Dusty up against your screen. He's always welcome. Thank you - yes - all done during the crop. But they are such simple pages they come together quickly...it always takes longer if I need to cut something or stamp it or journal on the computer or... And yes - I knew you meant Dusty - he's an adorable menace. I love your pages - and too funny about letting the girls take the blame! This chemo treatment on his face is keeping him awake at night, but he sleeps pretty well in his recliner. I'm sorry - I am glad that the recliner helps. My dh can sleep anywhere but not me. Did I just book a last minute trip? woohoo - how fun! OK - OK - OK Cruise is booked. I think I might be excited yay - ENJOY! I was labelling photos today but then DH asked me to do some revolutionary war writeups that he can use for bulletin board he does at work...so I switched gears.

Holy Cow gramma ! I was sure the Lions were going to win and the Chiefs would play the same team they faced on opening night lol. Looks like we are going to have a repeat of 2020. I'm sorry, but the outcome with be the same OMG! Here we go! All gentle trash talk is off LOL! J/k lol. Wow. I can’t WAIT to hear the talking heads back tracking about Brock Purdy. Great game! Great come back! I’m sorry for the lions fans. I know that same hurt . 😞

kitbop how exciting! As a teacher I don’t really do spur of the moment unless it’s in the summer and to be honest not even then. gramma and joyfulnana have fun cheering on your teams. nylene I love your Christmas pages! I’m glad your DH can sleep somewhere even if it’s not in bed. I did some pages for my Book of Me. It’s going to be 8.5x11 and I had fun playing with some of my Vicki Boutin paper. The third one is just a pocket to tuck things in.

So glad you booked the cruise with your sister, gramma. You will have a blast! (and no pressure when enjoying excursions about how you are going to scrap them tonight LOL) And Yay to you kitbop for the spur of the moment trip booking! You and your musical theatre dd will have an amazing experience. What FUN! justjac, your Book of Me is so pretty and colourful. You will feel uplifted just opening it, let alone creating in it. Congrats, gramma and joyfulnana on your Superbowl teams! Today we have dd's dogs while she is off for some medical appointments. Then later I will pick up the boy after school and bring him back here for supper before Mom comes to collect them all on her way home. I am ***HOPING*** to finish stowing away all my Christmas scrap crap today... I suppose to accomplish that, I will have to get up from this chair and actually DO something ...

justjac, that is a beautiful beginning for your Book of Me. I love the background and stamping on the cover and your name and pocket page are so pretty and decorative. I agree that you will feel happy just opening this! Linda, it sounds like you are all organized for a lot more scrapping! Good for you! grammadee, I hope you and dogs and DGS have a good day. I hope to get some Christmas put away, too.

justjac - I love those vicki b backgrounds you are using. Chopped down to this smaller size really heightens the patterns in the "mixed media". The one you used on your title page is the same one I used on the last layout I made. Love how you stamped "jacqueline" and got all the squares spaced so well! nylene - your layouts are always so crisp and pretty. I love the strips of christmas paper. Adore your titles! Perfect layouts grammadee - you are really dusting off your parenting duties recently. Your daughter is so lucky to have you around. joyfulnana and gramma - wow, can't believe we have you guys facing off in the superbowl! I will have to watch myself just to be able to talk about it after. Linda - You are a good, clear writer so I can imagine how your DS would want your write-ups for things he is displaying. My DS asks for my edits to things he is writing - he's a good writer, but I'm better (ETA: removed 20 exclamation points. I was teasing Katie about her overuse of exclamation points, but I know full well where she got that from. Followed closely by ellipses, brackets, colons and semicolons. .... )

About to sit at my desk and hopefully get some done tonight - first step is cutting an octopus... You are a good, clear writer Thank you removed 20 exclamation points. So cool that you looked at the chevron sketch and saw an OCTOPUS, Linda. You have had a really crafty January.
justjac , are you going to do LOAD in February? The theme is Game Night. I will be busy with 29-4-29 and gone for 10 days in February, but this theme is really pulling at me, and I know it's a theme that fits you to a T...
I have another day of cleaning ahead of me. Got all my Christmas crafty supplies stuffed into that corner cupboard and the door closes, so we are good for another 9 months or so, til card making mania hits me again. (although while sorting, I think I have almost enough completed cards left over from past years). But now I need to get the rest of this mayhem that I have been ignoring for months under control. I hope by Thursday morning I will have two clear counters and a vacuumed floor.

Linda I love your octopus page. grammadee I am torn about joining LOAD. I finally let my Scrap Happy membership lapse in the fall. I enjoyed Alice and the ladies I met and the LOAD themes, but I was finding the prompts a bit repetitive after so many years and almost all Scrap Happy's hangouts overlapped with Awesome Ladies Project ones (and ALP is a group I'm super involved in.)

AussieMeg , do your seasons start and end the same time (relatively) only just the opposite of ours? Will your fall begin about end of March or early April? I love seeing your pages with sunshine and blue skies while it is gray here. No, we follow Meteorological seasons instead of Astronomical seasons, so our seasons start on the first of the month: Summer - 1st December Autumn - 1st March Winter - 1st June Spring - 1st September ETA: And up north, they only have two seasons: wet and dry. Wet season is November to April (when it's summer / warmer weather down south), and Dry season is May-October (when it's winter down south). Their temperatures are pretty much constant all year round, about 31 C.

AussieMeg - that's so interesting - it never occured to me that you would have different season dates. Thanks - I love learning new things like that. I'm a bit tired today - didn't sleep well last night - but now I have the laundry started and the house tidied, I'm going to scrap. I cut and glued a title last night so now need to do the page to go with it. Then I have another title to cut - it has an awful lot of layers and no instructions beyond a picture of the finished product so it'll be a bit of an endeavour I fear. How are the Pokies doing?

AussieMeg , thank you for your explanation of seasons. So interesting! I love learning about how everyday things work in other countries. Linda , I am loving your layouts. You don't know how often I look back and start out with one of your designs. I guess I am just not very original. I need something to get me started. I love your "restraining order" page. Yes, I could use one of those too. Cool title on Explore and I can't wait to see what you are putting together today with the many layers. Your background of many patterns looks so nice. I need to do something like that to use up all the extra pieces I have in my scrap folder. That was a pretty way to use small pieces. I love your octopus and that eagle is amazing! How is your husband's eye doing? Is he able to drive at night yet? kitbop , I am excited for your trip with Katie. I hope you have a wonderful time together. grammadee , congrats on getting all your Christmas scrappings put away. Mine will have to sit out a while as I still have Christmas photos. I did get my Christmas decor down and just have the last bits to carry downstairs. I needed a break yesterday from boxing things up so sneaked away to make a couple of quick pages. Made me feel better. I saw the surgeon this morning and as much as I hoped he'd say I could strengthen and live with it, after some explanation of what was wrong and the advice that it will just continue to tear, I agreed to surgery. He could do me in 2 weeks, but Em's DD is being married out of town on Mar 16th and he said I wouldn't feel well enough to drive that far. So I am scheduled after the wedding, which will be better for Em too since she does the running for us when I can't drive. I actually feel calm about it, which is not usually my nature. So I feel it was the right choice. That gives me a whole month to make sure the freezer is packed with meals that between the 2 of us we can fix easily.

Even though I'm sure you would have preferred not to have surgery nylene , at least now you have a plan of attack. And by May you will be as good as new! Maybe even better. I might start calling you the 6 Million Dollar Woman. "We can rebuild her. We have the technology. We can make her better than she was. Better, stronger, faster." I'm glad you're feeling calm about it. kitbop, look at you go! A spontaneous trip! That's very exciting.

nylene - thank you - I'm not so original myself - I often start with a sketch. I can't claim credit for the eagle that's a Jolees piece. The title with loads of pieces is on hold but I'm working on another one that only has about 7 or so pieces - hopefully I can get it done and onto a layout tonight or tomorrow. Dh's eye seems to be making progress - I think he goes back in next week to the surgeon for another check. He's still not driving at night if he can avoid it but at least the days are getting longer. I'm so sorry that you need surgery but hopefully it all goes well and you'll be on the mend afterwards. (((Hugs))). Best wishes to your bride to be - how exciting.

nylene- I am sorry they have recommended surgery BUT that suggests you will be on the road to really mending more quickly so I'm excited for you too. Can I suggest you prepare by figuring out a way your back can be comfortable in the recliner? Maybe a lumbar support in there? a rolled up towel in the hollow of your back, or an actual obus form back rest? AussieMeg - I also was caught off guard about your seasons. I assumed the whole WORLD went by the equinoxes/solstices but that would be me showing my north-american-centric stupidity grammadee - good for you for getting Christmas away before February. I am STILL on Dec. 26 in my 2017 December Daily album and have 3 more photo heavy days to cover. So Christmas can't go away yet! I am still enjoying the papers and doodads, but also I'm anxious to start using some of my stash again. Or maybe start scrapping some of my trip. And I haven't done a single thing for 28-4-28 yet... and I'm going away for the weekend so...
