Happy March and Sunday! Waving hi to you all. We are doing fine out here with the rain. It's been light and hope it doesn't impact our area too much. Having a lazy weekend and hope to get out this afternoon/evening. I heard a cute joke... What do you call a mad carrot? A Steamed Vegetable! LOL!!! Last week, I was busy working on a new art video called "Meet Dominique". This art is the biggest painting I have ever done. I started it in January and I finally finished. I had so much fun working on it and looking forward to doing another big painting. So cool! Meet Dominique Video LinkSaying a pray for all of you that have been ill. Take it easy! nylene- Thanks for the new thread! Hope you are staying warm out there. I gotta catch up here and see what you all have been up to. Also, will pop into the gallery to see your creations. Take care!

Oh Claudia - {{hugs}} - I'm so glad you got those scrapped! The photos are precious but with the extra meaning behind them I know you wanted to do them justice. Your "Santa Practice" journaling is so special, and the die cut piecing of Santa is just perfect - it's like Ken is on the page winking at him. But the picture of Troy with the baby has my heart. In other realizations - you MADE that suit? Man, you are a boss Mrs. Claus!

Isn't he wonderful? Yes I made that suit 20+ years ago. It's a velvet type fabric and fake fur. It was a bear, but Santa had to have to best.

((((Hugs))) gramma - beautiful layouts! I'm glad you were able to scrap them. What a beautiful family tradition and I love that you made the suit for Ken AND that Troy is carrying on the tradition.

kitbop, I 2nd or 3rd the suggestion to get checked out by a Dr. Ulcers aren't something you want to ignore. Hope you continue to improve each day. I love your layout. I never think of things like adding a cluster to the title or the journaling. I learn so much from your layout! You have love in the gallery. grammadee, I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope it continues. So much snow just as we think it is trying to be Spring-ish! I think ours will all melt off in the next couple of days but sounds like yours is there to stay a while. Having the wind stop here makes it not so uncomfortable going out. scrappyrabbit, I love seeing your layouts of your new little Serena. Such sweet, tender photos. Makes me miss having a tiny baby around. I left you love in the gallery. I love grammadee's analogy of the tilted vs. straight photos. Yes, that's how parenthood often is. LOL gramma, your pages are amazing. Such precious photos of his first time taking Ken's place as Santa. I love the font on the first one and the way the design lets the photos take center stage. The photos with the baby are so touching. I love the cut out Santa on the 2nd set of pages. I agree with kitbop that it looks like Ken is peeking in to watch the fun. Hugs! I'm sure these were tender to scrap. kellyr21, I love your new Dominique. She has such beautiful eyes. I can't believe you have never taken art classes. I especially love the floral stencil on her bodice and the glitter at her neckline. She is amazing! You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your video with us. She looks like she could just walk off the canvas. Love it. joyfulnana, I chuckled at your comment about not being the boss of the crops. It's fun to have such giving and caring friends on this thread. I love how we get along together so well. Whether you or kitbop posts on Friday nights, I am just grateful that we have a chance to get together as we scrap. I appreciate anyone who can post it. Steve's sister called last night and they are flying in from Oregon to meet up with us the weekend of the wedding. They will drive up from Vegas and we will meet at their brother's home in Southern Utah. We have had this planned for some time but today heard that they put Steve's brother on hospice and he's almost non-communicative. He will give one word answers, but that's all. It's 2 weeks until the wedding and I worry about how he will be by the time we get there. He is 87 and hasn't been well the last few years. I can tell this has hit Steve hard. There are only the 3 siblings left. This getting old and losing loved ones is no fun! Didn't mean for this to be an epistle. That's what happens when you miss a day here.

kellyr21 ! I just saw your new video (you popped up in my feed She's beautiful! And it was so cool to see behind the scenes, and how you start a painting. I love the stenciling pattern on her dress. Wonderful painting thank you for sharing! Main Character Energy has been the easiest of Shimelle's lines for me to work with. The B-sides are so useable. I wanted more of almost every paper, and considered just getting the 12x12 pad, but that will be tooo much lol. I made that mistake with Sparkle City lol. I hope your weather is calming down nylene , did the flag pole make it? grammadee I hope you are feeling better and everyone made it safe to where they were going in the snow. scrappyrabbit , your pages are beautiful, such precious photos. They do not look too similar to me at all. Are you back to work now? kitbop your LO is lovely! I love the way you used those papers. gramma your layouts are so pretty, and I love that Santa belt! I hope working on those brought you some happy memories. Still gorgeous weather here, the rest of my weekend was shopping and cleaning that I put off on Saturday and then a little knitting and finally finishing the Barbie movie. It was ok, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. But I can say I've seen it! LOL Waving Happy Monday to you all!

Good morning, Pokeys! Today the sun is reflecting off all the fresh snow in the yard. Hoping our neighbour swings by with the grader as he is going around to the oilfield sites around here. He usually does. Dd and dgs plan to drive out after school to do some shoveling. He has asked for beef noodle soup for supper, so I will have to get started on that soon. So sad about your brother-in-law, nylene. (((((Hugs))))) to you all. Thanks for sharing the link to your sassy Dominique, kellyr21. She just oozes confidence, and I love the glitter! Those Santa LO's are wonderful, gramma. I plan to go to Flickr shortly and take a closer look. I am glad you are able to scrap these stories and hope they are a comfort to you. And making that suit? Amazing! I finished dgd's card yesterday and will post a pic later today. Put together a kit for the LO I want to make for her signing with NU. Their team is the Purple Eagles and her jersey will be purple. Haven't stocked up much purple since she and her sisters were little. I need to quit pouting about the photos I DON't have printed and start doing something with the ones that are here on my scrap table. Here's to a good week, Pokeys!

Whoa. I missed so much by not checking in this weekend. gramma your pages are wonderful. That is an amazing Santa suit. kitbop and joyfulnana I bought the Main Character Energy paper pad (mostly because of the title) and haven’t used any of it yet. grammadee if you want some sheets from it, I am willing to share. kellyr21 your painting is gorgeous. I love the stencilling and the glitter. Her face is so beautiful. scrappyrabbit I love your pages. I think you could put them side by side if you wanted to. I love your multi photo layouts Linda . You picked the perfect colour palette. nylene hugs to you and your family. My FIL has been home for a week after his appendix surgery. He’s not as confused and physically doing well. We all went out for supper last night after all the snow shovelling and snow blowing was done. (None by FIL, thank goodness.) The Awesome Ladies Project is doing a month of prompts for Women’s History Month and here are my first three pages. I am using a Heidi Swapp notebook that is 7x9.5.

Happy Monday! nylene - I hope your weather has calmed down - high winds are never fun joyfulnana - I haven't seen the Barbie movie yet - I wasn't a Barbie kid and my kids weren't either. grammadee - I hope you're finally on the mend! You'll have to share a pretty snow picture for those of us lacking in snow Good luck finding purple - I think it's the rarest scrapbook colour and so hard to match from different lines. justjac - I'm glad that your FIL is doing better. I LOVE your layouts - especially the first one - that journalling is spot-on! DH came home early from work this morning not feeling well and has been sleeping since. Puts a bit of a damper on my clean all the things plans since I don't want to disturb him. I've done SOME cleaning and laundry but I think the rest will wait for tomorrow. I'm doing a FB crop with SG Squad tonight (not live - just a FB thread) so hopefully will have some new pages to share afterwards. I will need to convince Dorian that my scrapbook desk isn't the new nap spot though - he's been hanging out in the clear space that I usually scrapbook in. First up will be the next Family History layout. After that I want to do the final two photos from Cumberland Island. I do need to order February photos though - I might do that next.

grammadee - LOVE the snow photos! Thank you! Looks like your helper is having fun shovelling! Great layout - I really like that dice paper. And the card is very pretty with the purples and that gold glittery word! I got some layouts done last night - I'll be back in a bit to share them. There's one more that's sitting on my desk assembled but not glued. I wasn't happy so left it overnight and will give it a fresh look soon. DD17 is taking the ACT at school today- all of the 11th graders are.

Today we woke up to -33C. I guess winter is not done with us yet LOL. But the sun is shining and roads have been plowed, (plus our driveway has been cleared thanks to dd & dgs) so I am heading to town for 10% Tuesday. Need groceries, the mail, and to do a few financial errands. I am hoping dgd's gift will be at the post office this morning so I can pop it into a big mailing envelope, add her cards from me and Mikey, and send it back into the mail for her birthday next week. Nothing like the last minute... Love the insights in your Women's History pages, justjac. And your cute avatar. And the pretty colours. Can't wait to see your pages in person. Can't pick a page out of what you shared here, Linda, as something you may not be happy with. They all look great. My fav's are the diecut layered turkey and the patchwork of kitty prints. Okay, off to get ready for town...

justjac, I really enjoyed reading your write up about buying your cute home. I love the photo of it with the border of little homes. Great pages. Very cool page with Serena Williams. Did you make that background? It is perfect for your page. Thanks for posting. grammadee, I love your pages and card. You have love in the gallery. The photos of the kids playing games are great. Fun boys and fun games. Wow, those snow photos are amazing. You have a LOT OF SNOW! I can see how you could get snowed in! How are you feeling today? Brrr Linda, I am always amazed at the information you have from the 1600's. Your journaling is wonderful and so detailed. I have indexed a lot of probate records, so it’s fun to see the probate date included. Sweet Dusty page and I love the use of the dragonfly paper again. That’s such a pretty print. Are you far enough from town that turkeys are hunted near you? We have a town north of us that is being overrun with wild turkeys who are making a big mess. They are paying professionals to trap and take them out of town. Great photos of your local turks!

Happy Tuesday! Wow, we are on page 2 here already! Awesome! Thanks for all the cheers with my art! It was such a fun challenge to get the proportion right. Still want to learn more about sketching large sizes. I was watching a video yesterday and the math to take an image for small to larger is confusion so far. Yikes, math! LOL! Working on a new regular size painting and this will be the first of a new collection. Checked out HSN today for their 24 hour craft day and didn't see anything so far that I would like so far. I do like to see the new products at this event. My scraping mojo is low but it will probably come back when it's time. nylene- Hugs to you and your family. I loved your latest cards and scrapbook pages!!! Adorable! Those cards are so terrific and well done. Wow! linda and grammadee- Cool seeing your layouts, too. Linda, you have been on a nice roll with the number of pages you have finished. Congrats! grammadee- So happy you are feeling better! Wow, that snow looked so beautiful! I have never seen that much snow. justjac- Fun to see your pages! I like your journal style to make up quick pages. What's your latest nail color? I look forward to doing my nails soon.

nylene I didn't make the background. It's from my stash - Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dreams I think. kellyr21 My nails are gold glitter that has some iridescent bits mixed in. gramma your Little Chef page is so cute! I can't wait for this cold snap to end. It's supposed to warm up for the weekend. We have a game night planned over at my bil's on Saturday. Work has been a bit frustrating lately. Poor attendance and administrative red tape issues. I've started counting down until the weekend, until Easter, until summer. Never a good sign.

Good Thursday morning, Pokeys. Hoping all is going well. There is love on Flickr for your pages, gramma. I don't know if I ever have completely torn a LO apart and remade it. Might have scrapped the same photos in different ways, but not a complete redo. Our odd jobs contractor came yesterday to replace bathroom fans. Dh thought he was going to finish off the kitchen cabinet project, so we moved things around to give him space, but the contractor had not planned to do that job and had not brought the tools he needed, so another week of kitchen cupboard items in tubs on the floor under the dining room table... I am not feeling particularly creative today, but want to spend some time in my scraproom, so I think I will sort through the photos on my scrap counter. I will need all the hockey pic's to take with me to the upcoming crop. And the other photos I can sort into two groups: likely to scrap in the next few months, and best to just store for now. That way I will have little packs of pic's I can pull out and quickly put a page together when I am in the mood. And I will have more room on my counter for the 2024 pic's when I do get them printed.

gramma, your pages are amazing. I love all your cute chef photos and the delightful apron and hat she is wearing. Love the title and the cute papers. She looks like a little doll. Your 2nd set is soooo pretty. I love your colors and the way they fade into the background letting the photos really shine. Your circles of truths are the perfect embellishments. Lovely family. I can't believe you jumped on and shredded your former pages. I wish I had a movie of that! LOL grammadee, you must be feeling better. Sorry you didn't get your cupboards finished so you could put things away. Where is your upcoming crop? What fun! Do you still have tons of snow? Ours has not melting off because it's really cold, but it's only on the grass. Roads and sidewalks are clear. I don't mind snow when it's like this. justjac, I'm sorry for your poor attendance and things going on. I laughed at your counting down to weekend, Easter, summer. I identify well with that! Sometimes I am living my life in the future. Do you get a long Easter break? I remember that teaching from Mar to May was all about looking forward to summer, both me and the kids. Spring fever is real. kellyr21, I look forward to seeing more of your new collection you are starting. I am in awe of your beautiful girls. To me they all look just like you! So tall and pretty. You are so talented. I need to do a big cleaning of my scraproom and kitchen for when my friend comes tomorrow to learn to made cards. I don't have working room in my scraproom for two of us, so we will have to move to the long kitchen table. That way supplies will be close at hand. It's not like packing things up to take somewhere. I look forward to having fun together.

This is why I hate cleaning! Just spent a couple of hours sorting through photos to clear some space on my counter and now the place is messier than ever!!! I know that eventually it will shape up, but now is not the time for me to do that. My creative right brain was already napping, and now my bossy left brain is glitching. If I can't remember where I put something that was in my hand five minutes ago, then how will I remember where it is when I actually NEED it? nylene, all our snow is still here b/c temps have been well below freezing (actually below -25C which is about -15F). But the roads are plowed, our neighbour cleared our laneway with his big equipment and forecast is for above freezing by Sunday. The crop will at the LSS in justjac's city, so only about an hour away, and it is the weekend before Easter.

I have also completely redone layouts before. Some I have redone from paper to digital. Some I have redone because I didn't like the original digital layout. One in particular I can think of..... it was a gorgeous photo of DD when she was little, and I used the photo for a template challenge on a digital site. I really didn't like the layout at all, and I always planned to re-scrap it. I can't say that I have ever stomped on a layout or put it through the shredder though hahaha!! kellyr21 Dominique is stunning! I especially love the glitter. I really enjoy watching your process videos.

This weekend we are due to have our highest temps so far this summer, except it's actually already autumn!! It will be 39C, 38C, and 38C (102F, 100F, and 100F) - perfect beach weather for our Labour Day long weekend. Except I have to work on Monday, so no long weekend for me! 😫 I volunteered to work on the public holiday because I just had a week off. But man, I wish I was going to the beach!

Another family history layout - the furthest back I can get on DH's surname line which is his 10th (and 11th) great grandparents. I'll start tackling the wives lines next - I have one written up already but waiting on a photo. And I've figured out how to set up my album. I made a title page for the surname and then printed out a direct line down to DH and then I'm starting with this layout and going forward in time. I've only done to his great grandparents -still need to writeup his grandparents and parents but they'll be a bit more involved and there's some scandals to figure out how to handle. Then I'll start with the furthest back wife and do her line and so on. And this one I don't love - I had it all done the other night except for the glueing but just wasn't feeling it. I made a few tweaks today but meh...it's done now I'll be back later (I promise) to catch up on the thread - it's almost dinner time here. I've been cooking since 5 - finally got it in the oven at 620 and it'll come out at 730 - hopefully we all like it when it's done - I made moussaka for the first time since I had eggplant in last week's produce box
