Was happy to see the pilots come in first last night. They definitely had the advantage on the racetrack due to their flying experience (mapping out routes in their head). Also enjoyed the bubble soccer. Rod seemed to enjoy that one a bit more than the others! You could see the NFL player come out in him after he got knocked over the first time. He and Leticia are quickly becoming one of my favorite teams. Was sorry to see Derek and Shelisa get eliminated.

That alliance really irritated me - especially when the girl in pink was deliberately helping the other two women solve the race track puzzle. And then what they did at the meat puzzle was disgusting- "I had to pull the mom card." 😱
I would bet next week, the staggered starts are teams 1 and 2, then 3 and 4, followed by 5, 6, and 7. That will mean the mother/son team is at the back of the pack with the two teams they very pointedly did not help, while the other teams in their alliance are ahead of them. I also wonder about the son's famed direction skills, as this is the second week in a row they arrived at a stop after teams that left behind them. I really hope they go home next week.
I'm glad the pilots won - I hope they win the whole race.

The dating nurses Vinny and Amber. He is so patient with her! I don't get that feeling at all! He is quite impatient and snippy. There are times that he comes across as downright condescending - especially after they appear to have talked out things from a prior leg. I've told DH that I'm dying to know if those two are still a couple because what I'm seeing so far doesn't look like they would be. This! I had the same thought while recently watching. He is way too condescending for me. Yuck!

I'm wondering if the mother (in the mother son duo) will be able to handle many more physical challenges. She looked like she felt miserable in the car segment. I'm sure she was medically cleared for the race but boy howdy, I would imagine the medical team on standby is watching her carefully.

The son mention when they had her do the bubble soccer that they were trying to get her quota of the challenges done.Although between the car and the bubble soccer those were some pretty physical ones to choose.

I'm still watching but didn't want to keep reading until I was caught up on this & Survivor. The mother son duo are obnoxious!! I thought maybe it was just me but I am glad to see I am not alone. I honestly may like him a tiny bit more than the mom. I can't pinpoint it.. she's too whiny or too apologetic or I don't know what it is but I don't find her likable at all.

I really hate the way Amber was just telling them how to do the puzzle. Next race there should be no working together allowed!!! If they all did that what would be the point of watching the show? This is my least favorite season.

Boy, Vinny is condescending to Amber and I think she’s starting to realize this may not be the right guy for her. He really showed himself this week and was downright awful to her. I felt bad for her. I was hoping they’d be eliminated so she could go home and think about her future instead of continuing with his verbal abuse.
I LOVED when Cesar & Ricky were doing the song & dance on stage. They were getting into it & looked like they were having fun. I hope they win! I just love their attitude and enthusiasm.

Ugh Vinny reminds me of my ExH and he is so condescending to her. When they were just showing her confessionals, I had hoped they had been eliminated and broke up but then they showed him next to her.

Those were tough challenges. When they showed the drums vs singing, I told DH I would have had to say *sorry, we're done*. I'm glad the pilots made it to the mat in time. It must have been awful to be dealing with food poisoning. The few times we've had it, we just want to curl up into a ball and die!

If I had been in that car with him, I would have left it and said forget the million dollars and forget you. I read somewhere on Reddit that they are now engaged. I wonder if that will change once they (and their families) watch this season.

I hope they rebound in the next leg. I was sad to see the firefighters go - they were amazing in the challenges but not so much with the directions. I wonder how they would have fared in a more traditional season where teams use more taxis and public transportation.

I liked the FFs so that sucked. I would have rather the annoying mother/son duo go or Vinny & Amber. OMG maddening. As much as he is a complete douche canoe towards her, she is so ridiculous for putting up with it and just bowing down to him. I don't know but something about her is annoying as well.

That alliance really irritated me - especially when the girl in pink was deliberately helping the other two women solve the race track puzzle. And then what they did at the meat puzzle was disgusting- "I had to pull the mom card." 😱 And there are pros and cons to those alliances, so if a team joins one, they're taking both the good & the bad. For instance, Vinny & Amber could have pulled ahead if she didn't feel she had to stick around and get the other 2 teams through. If the next challenge had been a particularly difficult one for them, she would have regretted her choice. And then you see that play out for Angie & Danny---they're all together, then he announces after the butcher shop that they are all "on their own" to get to the mat, but that's not what happened--they followed him, forcing him & his mom to a foot race they had no chance to win. If there had been no other teams behind them, they would have been eliminated. And that would have been directly caused by sticking so close to those two other teams. Yes, Amber helped them get past the car one, but she wouldn't have stood aside and let them run to Phil ahead of her. Danny doesn't seem to think about those things---as we saw him considering helping the 2 teams still at the meat challenge. But his mom did all of the roadblocks in that leg, and they really were rough on her, and I think she *did* see the writing on the wall---that if they didn't get out of there before the 2 other teams, they could wind up last and I just think she probably felt like she put too much into the day to just keep helping everyone else get to the mat before them. And I think that's why we hear her make that comment. Because at some point, how long do you let your teammate keep paving the way for everyone else's success over your own? As it was, the 2 all female teams arrived at the mat very close behind the mom & son. So even with them leaving at that point, they didn't get very far ahead.

Giving hints like *the clue box is down this street* or something like that is one thing but to actually do the challenge for another team is crossing the line in my book and I wish the powers-that-be would address it.

I just watched last week’s episode. Those two were definitely annoying. I was hoping they would still be looking for their car when Phil came to find them…
Can’t believe the firefighters were so bad at navigation.

And the firefighter "navigator" wanted the driver to look at the map while she was driving!! That made me nervous and listening to Vinny be such a jerk made me so angry! Why oh why would a Mom want to "make her son's dream come true" even if she can't run, gets overheated, says she has no upper body strength, etc. I can't imagine going on the show without trying to get my fitness level up as much as possible. I feel like they've been lucky and gotten extraordinary help but that won't last forever.

The pilots really caught up, remained positive and are a great team to watch. I'm sensing that there isn't a lot of *common sense* amongst some of the participants. Simply not taking the time to think things through and make a game-plan. It looks like the Dominion Republic next week, but this wasn't mentioned. Simply because of the baseball challenge shown in the pre-view. Getting closer to the finale.

Well, it has run the course and we won't be hearing from or about them anymore. Thank goodness! Now if we can just loose the nurses, although he did behave a bit better last night. She really needs an intervention though because she still thinks all his reactions are her fault and focuses too much on her own shortcomings. I just want to shake her by the shoulders and say wake up girl! Was so glad to see the pilots come from behind and place second. I really like them. Also still like Rod & Leticia. They both have good attitudes, a sense of humor and work well together. He was so funny while she was playing street tennis.

I was so glad the pilots muscled through that detour - they said early on their strategy was to do the physical challenges.
I'm so glad the mother/son went home. I wonder if he had listened to his mom and tried to go after the camera crew if they wouldn't have been delayed for so long.
I'm glad Rod/Leticia are still in the race - they are my second favorite team behind the pilots.

I thought Angie and Danny (Mom and son) would be eliminated because of a difficult physical challenge or a health issue for Mom, and was surprised that it was because of a driving error that caused them to lose their crew. I don't know the rule, but it seemed like Angie knew they shouldn't continue driving and needed to wait for their crew or go find them. I guess they didn't know there would be a penalty for going ahead without them.
Vinny was nicer but maybe only because they were more successful and not lost! It bugged me that Amber felt like she needed to tell him 3 or 4 times that he did a good job with the street tennis. Dude can't handle that someone else did it more quickly.

Is this the first time we found out the rules about the crew following a team? Who knew. When Danny was giving her directions, he would say turn left but point right. Unless I misunderstood. She was obviously doing it wrong several times as people were honking at her.
I can't really put my finger on why he bugged me. Perhaps because he sometimes seemed like he was *acting* for the camera. With his smile, words, demeanor. I get the closeness between a mom and a son, I have an only so I get it. BUT, I would never call him my best friend and he wouldn't call me his either. JMHO.
