This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members. If you are on a Team, complete the 4 challenges and post them on this thread for an extra 4 points.

Happy June everyone! It's the first day of winter here - boo! But we've been really lucky with the weather lately. We had five days straight of glorious blue skies, and temps of 18-20C. It was a bit cooler yesterday, and today only got to about 14C, which is fitting for the first day of winter. grammadee I went to my dad's after we got home from the football, to find that photo for June's Donna challenge. We went through several albums and two crates of photos, but we couldn't find it. I'll have to come up with Plan B. I hope you're on the mend nylene , and the pain is getting better. Is Cousin Camp happening this year? Linda your layouts are gorgeous. Those Easter layouts make me happy to look at, such pretty colours, and lovely family photos.

Glad you are settled in grammadee. We need to buy you wings - I'm not sure whether you want angel wings or eagle wings to fly around like you do, but you deserve both Linda - love that cat page! Your photos really make a beautiful array, they fit with each other without feeling crowded. I just missed a picture of my cat - couldn't get my phone quick enough - he was standing, all 4 feet, in the water bowl. And looked up and me and shrugged his shoulders and said "meow?". Oh how I wanted that picture! nylene - holding you close and wishing we could take that pain away! gramma - nice to see you and wish you had less on your mind! Mental fatigue is painful in itself, and your cranium needs a break!

Thank you AussieMeg . I hope you have a mild winter! kitbop - thank you. DH looked at the cat page and commented equal representation because I had two photos of each. Sorry about your photo that got away - it can be hard to catch those kitty moments.

Linda, great pages! Cute kitty photos and I love cut out cat paw and the kitty die cuts. I'm glad you didn't play favorites and every cat was equally represented! I love the way you celebrate each holiday and take photos. Cute Easter baskets and the Easter papers are perfect. I love the purple napkins. Do you make napkins for every holiday? I notice fun colors on your dining pages. You must have a drawer full. AussieMeg, I hope you have a mild winter and get a few bright and beautiful days. Do you get snow? gramma, justjac, joyfulnana, Linda, and kitbop, it was nice chatting with you last night. I needed a good visit with friends. grammadee, I'm glad you arrived safely. I agree with kitbop, you definitely need wings! Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. I feel a bit better today, but haven't done the exercises yet.

Thanks nylene. We set the table every night with cloth napkins and usually placemats (tablecloths tend to be more for holidays here) and yes, I have a whole drawer of napkins in a rainbow of colours. I sew them from flannel. I'm glad that you're feeling a bit better today. Take it easy. (((Hugs))) I got to talk with DS today

We're a desert continent, but we do get a little bit of snow - only up high on a few mountains in the alpine region, and only in three states - Tasmania, Victoria (where I live), and southern New South Wales. We have three ski resorts here, and the ski season runs from June (when there's barely any snow) through to September. We very rarely get snow down off the mountains, and if we do, it's a newsworthy event. I've never seen snow anywhere where I've lived. Even though I think it looks beautiful, I would hate it!

Sharing a card I made tonight to send to my friend for her birthday this week. The process reminded me of why I'm primarily a scrapbooker not a cardmaker, lol And another card from tonight using a new-to-me technique of inking the embossing folder

Happy June! So good to see you guys last night! I needed the chat as well after the week I had. Linda I just love the photo collage/grid page design, and what great pics of the cats. The happy colors of the Easter pages just look so nice. Great photos too. Your card is beautiful. grammadee I hope you get to slow down soon. Sending you hugs and energy. nylene it was good to see you last night. I hope your shoulder is feeling better after the exercises. I have had a pretty laid back day. Did some knitting, and fussed some more with the page I was working on last night. I really could have jumped into work for a bit. I'm feeling behind on things. But ultimately, I could not make myself do it lol. That's probably for the best. I really need to tally points. And I want to make an effort to choose some challenges to complete.

Thank you joyfulnana. I'm glad you had a laid back day on Saturday - I think you really needed that. (((Hugs))) One more card - I actually watched ALL three videos and made a card for each for the Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes challenge Justine Hovey hosted this weekend. Pretty pleased with my follow-through there. otherwise? I didn't sleep well last night so the day was off to a slow start. DH had to go in to work again today - poor guy, he didn't get a weekend this week. Chatted with DD24 and then we went into the city for DD17's Girl Scout meeting. DH and I walked Pokemon routes near UF - about 5km total - during her meeting. Then a quick trip to Target for new shorts for her and home to make dinner. Trying to decide if I want to start tackling one of the cards for the Cardmaking Countdown that started yesterday or just grab my book and read. Leaning towards the latter as I'm tired. Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Awwww…. Not ready for angel wings. A jet pack might be nice!
Busy weekend with kids sports. I got lots of pic’s, which I printed today. Had some time to visit with a dgd (aged 18) today, as well as my other ds’s family for a bit. Did a bit of shopping: picked up a few papers and some stickers at M’s, and a small purse to use for the grad and other more dress up occasions. Not sure if it will transition to everyday, but it does hold my cellphone as well as credit cards and cash, so maybe…
For years I carried a 4x6” purse on a cross body cord. But keys and phone had to be carried separately in hand or in pockets. This last winter I started using a small cross body tote. It holds everything but kinda looks like a backpack. It fits well over a jacket, but looks frumpy over a dress. This new purchase is a clutch with a strap, slots for cards, zippered pockets for cash & change. The phone fits great, but my keys not so much. Maybe for everyday I will use it the way I have been using my tiny purse—stash the whole thing in my frumpy tote ?
I know no one will be looking at ME at the grad, but I don’t want to look TOO much like a bumpkin…

Sounds like a fun but very busy weekend grammadee. I don't think I could manage with a tiny purse...I'm not minimalistic enough. My sister does though - hers is just big enough for cards, phone, and keys. Scrapped tonight - caught up on the SG create challenges. Hoping to make some more cards tomorrow.

AussieMeg, I'm glad your first days of winter were nice days. You asked about Cousin Camp. The Calif kids are coming in July but I don't think my shoulder will allow me to do a normal CC. We do have a pool day planned at DS's home. The older kids are all working for the summer. The 4 younger ones will come and spent time together playing planned games, but we probably won't invite the Great-grands this year. Linda, I always love opening this thread to find new pages from you. The Japanese Cherry is gorgeous. The photo with Cath is really pretty. I love the way you have used the rainbow colors behind her. How wonderful the your DD and DS's kitties get along so well. Cute photos. You have been scrapping up a storm. Don't worry, we won't ever take away your Pokey Pea card! grammadee, how nice that you can attend your DGD's graduation. I hope you have a wonderful visit and a safe trip back home. You are one busy lady. joyfulnana, I'm glad you had a restful Sat. I love visiting with you online on Fridays. How is the knitting going? Is this blanket for you? I'd love to see a photo. I have been trying to do a little scrapping. Just pulling papers and embellishments is almost too labor intensive. I met the new Dr. yesterday and we felt OK about him. He thinks it's too early to do an MRI to see what's going on, but will order it at the end of the month. In the meantime, I guess I just have to deal with the pain. Yesterday I couldn't stand it and put the sling back on. I know that means I'm not using (exercising) it, but after PT I was miserable. Aspirin doesn't seem to take the edge off. Even if they find that it has torn out, the Dr. says we don't want to do anything for several months. Repeat surgery on the same area can result in unfavorable results. Here are a few very quick pages.

Oh nylene , I hope you can find some relief soon. I think wearing the sling will help a lot. You can take it off to do some movement from time to time, but the sling will prevent those non voluntary sudden movements that don’t help and often cause additional problems. I love your “ simple pages” and will go look at them more closely in the Gallery later. I am so happy the grad in BC is excited to have me come to her event. She called last night, worrying I might be bored in the time between when I arrive tomorrow and the event Friday evening. I told her I would be okay entertaining myself LOL. More lovely pages and cards, Linda . I had an unexpected quiet day today and *almost* opened the bag I packed to go directly to my hotel I disturbed to pull out my scrappy GO bag. I plan to pull that out at the hotel to fill any quiet times. But I left it be. Tucked the cs I purchased yesterday into the bag packed with the grad albums. I switched my cards and cash into my new purse, so I am committed now. Even cut off part of the leather wallet from my mini purse to house my ID stuff: drivers’ license, health care card, etc. The flap I cut off fit nicely into one of the pockets in the new purse. And I shortened the strap so the new purse sits under my elbow instead of bumping along on my hip. Glad you resisted the urge to get pulled into work in your down time, joyfulnana . I really hope to jump into one of the Friday crops. Maybe on the 13 th. I will be home, and Dd & dgs will be off to Dad’s graduation before flying home with him. Boys are home. They need to eat and be ready to roll out of here by 4:30 pm. Gotta go!

Happy Tuesday! We had a nice weekend. We went to the Greek Festival. They have lots going on but all I wanted to do was sit in the church and stare at all the art. Something very peaceful and soothing about it all. So while others were out there enjoying the festivities, I was chilling in the church. LOL! Afterwards we went to to brunch at a local Mexican restaurant. So good and a great way to cap off my birthday weekend. Yeah, that dress shop I shared is gorgeous but the prices!!! So AussieMeg, if I win the lottery I will buy you one, too. We would look fabulous! LOL! Until then, I will just enjoy the designs. Love that boho look! grammadee- I hope your new handbag works for you. I love medium sized bags. One of the last one I got is from QVC. It has so much function plus it's hot pink! Love the pink! nylene- Oh, I can't believe how your dgd has grown. She is engaged and just beautiful!!! Have they set a date yet? Sorry my friend you are still in pain! Hopefully someone can suggest something to give you some relief! Praying for you!!!! linda- Sounds like you had fun over the weekend, too. You have been getting lots of scrapping done. So happy for you. What do you do when your pages are done? Do you put them in an album? joyfulnana- I almost forgot I was trying to knit I think last year. I still want to circle back to it. Are you making anything specific or just playing?

Thank you nylene - you're always so sweet. I think using the sling to rest and for some pain relief is wise. I'm glad the doctor was ok - sounds like he's got a conservative approach. I do hope you're feeling better soon though - it's been a long tough road so far. I LOVE your 'simple' pages - so pretty! Best wishes to the happy couple! Thank you grammadee - sounds like you're making the new purse your own. Enjoy the evening with the boys! kellyr21 - Greek Festival? Colour me envious! Sounds like a lovely weekend for you! My pages go into albums - 3-ring binder style that make it easy to put the pages away chronologically even though I don't scrap that way

Great cards and such pretty layouts! I'm not sure I could follow along with a video, but Shimelle sometimes makes me want to try lol. I do want to get some of the SG crop challenges done. I'm not sure why, but the sketches really didn't do much for me so it may be awhile before I use them. I'm an inbetween on purse size. I would prefer not to carry one. I tried a small one, but I couldn't ever find anything, because it was so stuffed full. I recently got a larger one, and I can't find anything in that one either lol. And I've never found a cross body bag that didn't look frumpy with a dress grammadee. Your clutch sounds pretty perfect. I hope you can make it some Friday too. I always hope you'll surprise us by popping in. nylene that is not the news I wanted to hear. I'm sure it wasn't what you wanted to hear either. That's awful that you may have to wait months again, I hope wearing the sling will help alleviate some of the pain. Your simple pages are very pretty! I'm glad you are able to still scrap some. kellyr21 I'm still making blankets like the one I made for Rudy a couple of years ago lol. I made one for myself, and I want to get one for each DS for Christmas this year. If I keep steady at it I may meet that deadline lol. Sitting in church looking at the art sounds very calm and inviting. Well, they let my coworker go today. From the sounds of it, he was relieved. I think he wanted to be let go instead of quitting, so a win for everyone? not so much maybe lol. And now we'll see how the summer goes and how long before I have a new person lol. Mom is home and doing pretty well. I saw her Sunday and she was in good spirits and seemed like herself.

joyfulnana - these card videos were more about making card decisions quickly and less about making specific cards but they did have a homework assignment afterwards. Hopefully work is easier without the coworker and it doesn't mean too much extra work for you. Glad your mum is doing well. I made a (very simple) gatefold card tonight and a fractured card

Well, I have hopped over the Rockies—wings supplied by WestJet. Room wasn’t ready when I arrived, so I left my luggage and walked to a nearby Denny’s for breakfast, then down to the lakefront and along the shore, then a loop back to my hotel. When I got back, the front desk lady had moved my stuff to my “upgrade”, a larger room with a terrace, and told me she had upgraded my ds so he will have the room next door when he arrives tomorrow.
Saw an ice cream place by the beach—thinking that might be my supper LOL.

Glad you had a safe flight and room upgrade grammadee - nice way to start the weekend! Are you in Kelowna? joyfulnana - I hope your Mum continues to recover and get her strength back! Pneumonia is a real blow. I guess your coworker didn't like the sounds of working in the manufacturing area? I'm kinda glad he's out of your hair! nylene - I wish they had MRI'd you right now just for your own peace of mind! How are you supposed to decide if you should push thru the pain to recover, or stop hurting yourself if it's not responding properly?? I'm glad the new guy has some feeling that things may still turn around for you. My physio brain is "hoping" you only have a frozen shoulder, and that the repair itself is OK, and that with time you'll get better function! But it's so difficult to read situations like yours. I just don't like you hurting this much It is *pitch* black outside, as we're in the middle of a thunderstorm. Normally it has been light until well past 9pm now. Our day was hot (around 100 with humidex) and these storms are going to cool us off for the next few days. I'm getting used to having central AC - it keeps the basement COLD (like slippers and a hoodie!), the main floor perfect, and the upstairs stays rather warm as the heat/humidity end up there!

grammadee . what a nice upgrade at the hotel and being within walking distance of breakfast. I hope you have a great time with DS and DGD. I hope you are not overdoing. You will need a vacation from your vacation. Linda , you have done a great job with your cards. Congrats on your follow-through. I hesitate to sign up for classes because life seems to get in the way and I feel I wasted my money. Maybe this winter I will try again. I love that gatefold, the paper and the birdhouses. Is that a cut apart card or something you printed? Cute fractured card too. kitbop , I have the same feelings about pushing through the pain if there is not recovery. By the end of the month I can get the MRI and then make some decisions. Today the Physical Therapist had the same feeling. He was surprised that the Dr didn't immediately order the MRI. I don't have a frozen shoulder and can do all the exercises and I do them diligently at home. I just can't lift my arm without help from the other arm...well, I can lift it a little higher Steve says. Two months ago I could raise it 20 degrees and Steve says it's at about 25-30 now. Not sure what that means, but will continue with PT until we get the MRI results. Putting the sling on with some heat when the pain gets too bad has been helping. joyfulnana , I hope your mom continues to improve. Does she have friends/people who live around her to check on her? I am glad you are no longer plagued with a coworker who didn't really want to work at that job. I hope it doesn't all fall on you now. kellyr21, your Greek Festival sounds nice, and sitting in a quiet, cool church sounds even nicer. I'm glad you got to take in all the artwork! That's a nice finish to your birthday week. I was looking forward to a Friday night crop, but may not make it this time. My DSIL passed away last week and her funeral is tomorrow. It's in SLC and the burial is even further north by a few towns. The luncheon at the church will be after the burial. I'm not sure I am up to that much driving, but would like to be there to visit with my nieces and nephews and families during the luncheon. If I'm feeling ok we may ride to the burial with my sister so I don't have that drive too. This is my brother's ex-wife, but we have been very close to her....her kids, not so much. I think they blame us for our brother walking out after 35 years of marriage. So we really want them to know we love and care about them since both parents have now passed. I ordered a bunch of Silhouette files while the sale was on, but with their roll out of a new website, the files have not appeared in my library nor has there been a link to download them. I guess I will just try to be patient.

kitbop - I hope the storms have passed without any damage and that you have a wee bit cooler weather for the weekend. nylene - Thank you - I generally only sign up for free classes/challenges - a few of Shimelle's $5 ones are the exception - because followthrough isn't always my strong point either. The birdhouse is indeed a cutapart card. I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you have someone to ride with - that's a long drive for you especially with that shoulder. Take it easy. (((Hugs))) and prayers I signed up for a Scrapbooking summit that started today...but I think I'm figuring out that long videos are not my favourite learning method. So I've only watched one so far in its entirity (and at 2x speed) - two others I watched enough to get the gist but didn't finish. I always seem to come away a couple of tips and/or new ideas so it's usually worth the time and they are free.

Good afternoon Pokeys. So sorry for your loss, nylene . I hope someone else can drive you when it is so far and you are dealing with your shoulder. (((((Hugs))))). The Greek festival sounds like fun, kellyr21, but the peace and beauty of the church sounds wonderful. Have fun with the scrapbooking summit, Linda . I often see class projects as simply suggestions. No harm in taking in an idea or two then doing your own thing. Will your employer hire someone to replace the guy they fired, joyfulnana ? Will you have to train that person? Or are you expected to take on that guy’s duties? How are you doing, gramma ? Hoping you are able to get some rest and relaxation. When is your cruise again? justjac , my dd was telling me there has been an outbreak of ticks between us and where you work. She is picking up meds for her dogs this evening, and we were trying to figure out how to get our farm dogs treated. Anything like that happening where you work? I went to bed super early yesterday, planning to read the evening away. When my phone started beeping, I was getting cranky cuz I thought dh was texting really early Alberta time (something he often does), and cursing cuz it would be even earlier in BC. But when I found my phone, the time was 9:30PM. Glad there was no one here to hear my cursing…. Thought I would have trouble falling asleep again, but went right back to slumberland and didn’t resurface until 5:30 this morning. Got up, had coffee, and put together 6 pages before ds arrived. We walked to Denny’s, then came back and read on the terrace. His girls are coming here tonight and plan to take us out for supper. I will give the grad her gift while they are here. Looking forward to that! Right now he is taking a few work calls and I am just vegging in my room.
