I've gone a bit card crazy again. No, no - this is a perfectly normal quality and quantity of cards to produce. Wow, they are stunning! I love them so much gramma!

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys! At least it is still morning (and still Wednesday) in my part of the world... Today is definitely a "ketchup" day. Unpacked my suitcases and scrappy GO bag. Have yet to do laundry or actually stow away my scrappy supplies properly. Called the GEEK squad to get my printer and computer communicating so I could print out the Telus invoice I am disputing, so I don't need to be in front of the computer and logged into my account when the Telus agent decides to get back to me... Uploaded to the Gallery the pages I assembled in the hotel, and linked them to sharing thread and a couple of Sketchy Saturday threads. Need to go into town to check on something in dd's house, plus pick up a couple of parcels (hers and mine) and grab some groceries. Thank goodness for rain, which means I don't have to 1) water the garden or 2) deal with the weeds! Here are a couple of my favourite LO's. I was in the mood to cut out the middles of papers to put things behind the resulting space. What can I say? baseball blues by Gramma Dee, on Flickr beautiful x 3 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Linda, I hope you can work things out for your trip to the UK. I know you have been excited about going. Will this give your DD incentive to get her license? She's the same age as our Sammie and she has no desire to drive in Calif. ( I wouldn't want to drive in that traffic either!) In Utah, kids line up an hour early at the DL Division on their 16th birthday to get their license. Maybe that's cause we have very little mass transit in Utah. gramma, You have really been busy. I love the ladybug, bee, pansy group! I love paper piecing with lots of little fiddly things. LOL. Your Halloween prints are so cute. They will be so loved. You find the best images. The floral cards are gorgeous. Your cardstock mats are just the perfect color for each card. I added them to my Pinterest card file. I'm glad you have had this hobby to keep you busy during the down times. Big hugs from Steve and me! Hope to see you online tomorrow. You are so sweet to donate so many wonderful cards! grammadee, so glad you arrived home safely. Did your DH survive OK without you? I love your baseball pages. Those are great photos of the boys. I will get a closer look in the gallery. Your beautiful granddaughter page is amazing! Are those girls sisters or cousins? They are so beautiful! I need to get DH to the dentist. I'll come back later or see you on line tomorrow. Have a great day, everyone!

The gallery seems to be having issues. I have posted a couple of comments, but they won't post. Now it won't open for me. I will try later.

grammadee - your cutting out things to put things behind has turned into awesome layouts. You're always so creative in your approach to scrapbooking and your albums must be so much fun! nylene - DD17 wants her license and has been on a learners since Jan 2023 - with the eye surgeries and such, DH hasn't been able to spend as much time teaching her as she's needed. Plus she has a lot of anxiety about other drivers - her school bus got into two wrecks and then DH was rearended with her in the car so it's understandable. But she drove him home from the eye dr last week and has been getting some practise in at after dark also. So hopefully? DH will be getting scheduled for cataract surgery soon (I hope) and it would be helpful if she could drive by then. I don't think she's been on the interstate or the busy part of US90 through town yet... nor has she had much parking practise. No public transport here so kids are usually raring to get their permits when they turn 15. Mine have just been a bit slower for a variety of reasons. DS32 didn't get his full license until after high school graduation - he wasn't far from 19 then and his boss told him get your license. Now he drives semis and other big vehicles in the military. DD24 is on her second learners permit (2 different states) and I'm not sure she'll ever end up driving. Hope your DH's dentist appointment went well.

Hi Pokey's! Just wanted to pop in quick to ask if kitbop or gramma will be able to open up a crop tomorrow? I have tentative plans, and I won't be able to open things up, but I might be able to pop in later. I'll be back after work tonight to really catch up. Have a good day everyone!

Hi Pokeys!
Up early this morning despite another not-so-good sleep night. DD17 had an early appt for her physical. Her provider is running an autoimmune panel (bloodwork) in hopes of figuring out her joint pain and hypermobility. We go back the end of July for results.
Walked in the neighbourhood this evening - it's nasty out 92 feels like 98 - and saw deer, turkeys, squirrels, and a hawk

Hello, Pokeys. Linda , I hope your dd's panel of tests turns up something that is treatable and brings her some relief. And I hope you get a better sleep tonight. Today I baked rhubarb crisp with the rhubarb I cut out at dd's yesterday. Took a pan to the Seniors' Club supper tonight. Watched our son-in-law's grad on line. Not much else accomplished today, except a couple of walks around the yard with dd's dogs, who are here until Monday.
I didn't have to do anything, but the other event of the day was our neighbour--who has two kids under the age of 3 years old--came and dismantled our play park from the back yard, and loaded it onto a flat deck trailer. They built a new house last fall, are working on their landscaping, and this play park will have a place in their back yard.
I hope someone can start a crop tomorrow, b/c I really miss you guys!

Thank you grammadee - I hope so also but even just knowing what's going on will help. Sounds like a nice peaceful day recovering from your travels. How nice to be able to pass along the play park. Hoping for a crop as well.

Thanks, kitbop for hosting the crop. I enjoyed visiting with you all for a bit. Sorry I baled so early. Linda , did you get some sleep last night? You are a trooper to get so many pages finished in an evening. I think I managed to comment on all the June creations so far. nylene I am pretty sure a couple of my comments in Flickr from a day or so ago disappeared into cyberspace, too. But I think I caught them now. Did some organizing and sorting this morning. Tuesday I have a car appointment in the morning and book club with justjac in the evening, so I am planning to spend the day at the LSS putting some pages together. Collecting pic's and scrappy supplies to pack for that. Think I will focus on the pic's I took in Penticton. That way I will be able to get those pages printed before the girls come here mid July. Tuesday I will also be able to print the last of the baseball pic's from last week, plus soccer pic's I hope to take on Monday evening at dgs's double header game. And my 21 yr old dgs just sent me a bunch of pic's from his week in Mexico with his gf just after his birthday in April. Dd and family have managed to change their flights so they arrive in Edmonton mid day tomorrow, and they want to come here for a Fathers' Day steak supper. So I will need to clean the deck eating area for that. And bake a gluten free rhubarb crisp. They will be taking the pets home with them, so not planning on doing anything with the floors in here (except maybe sweep) until after those dogs are gone. They have been merrily tracking in leaves and grass all week, and the floor around the water bowl is always a disaster LOL.

Thanks grammadee - yes, last night was an excellent night of sleep and I'm feeling so much better and well rested. Sounds like you have a busy week planned. How nice that your DD anda family will be able to be there for Fathers Day. I'm making rhubarb crisp for my dh also (but not glutenfree).

Thanks, kitbop, for starting the crop. It was so nice to see so many. We missed you, joyfulnana! Nice to see grammadee after all the traveling. Linda, I love your pages. Is that truck being fixed or being "put down"? It looks like a very sturdy member of the family. Love the archery photos. Was that at GS camp? Anj is teaching archery this week at GS camp. It looks like fun. I love the little critters in the corner and love your GS shirt!! grammadee, I don't know how you keep going. I did grocery shopping this morning and by the time I got to the check out counter I was exhausted. I can't seem to get my stamina back. Alex took me for a walk yesterday and I couldn't go very far. I need a pepper-upper! Have a Happy Fathers' Day, everyone!

My goodness this week went by so fast! grammadee your DGD is beautiful and so is her album! kitbop put it perfectly. “She’ll keep it for herself and her memories and think of you everytime she sees it” What a wonderful gift! Wow I really love your “gut the middle” phase, those pages are amazing! And you made it home! And it sounds like you are still keeping very busy lol. Linda I think I know what you mean about the white background, they are usually very busy and I’m not sure that even Shimelle will get me using papers like that easily lol. You have a good eye for mixing patterns. And like your page with that cute little saw. It’s so cute! That’s a long deployment DS has coming up. I hope it’s not too hard on all the kids with him gone so long. I hope everything works out with the cars, and the trip. You had a productive evening last night! nylene I love that page of Steve! The pen is so beautiful, and it’s wonderful that you documented how you’ve helped him keep making them. I’m so glad you were able to go to card club. I know how much you have missed it since Covid and everything else. gramma (((hugs)))) you’ve been in my thoughts. That is a big stack of cards! And they are so cute and colorful! kitbop thanks for hosting last night! I missed you all. We had dinner and then window shopped around the mall. I got home probably about the time you were wrapping it up. It was a nice evening of catching up. I don’t know why, but I tell myself every Friday that Saturday I’m going to be up early and get going on things. And I sleep in, and get a very slow start and the day ends up feeling so lazy lol. Bingeing the last half of Bridgerton and knitting have been my biggest accomplishments today so far lol. But they both truly needed to be done, and that’s two things off the list LOL! I’ve got the challenges from the double points weekend set out and I want to play with that later. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Anj is teaching archery this week at GS camp. It looks like fun. I love the little critters in the corner and love your GS shirt!! Thank you -That is DS32's truck and it was headed to the mechanic for a new engine. It's a 1976 Ford Ranger. He still owns it but it's currently in my garage. The camp photos are from a Catholic Scouting Retreat at a Boy Scout camp - Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts were invited and it was a fun weekend. We went for several years. I hope you get your stamina and energy back soon =that's hard. joyfulnana -Thank you. It is a long deployment especially since he's already had several other deployments this year. We're still trying to figure out a plan for October - DD17 turns 18 right before we leave but as of now, is not responsible enough to leave alone - we don't trust that she would be able to get up for the school and keep up with cat chores. Right now I go upstairs several times before she gets out of bed and her chores in general are more miss than hit. But DD23 can't take their cats on the train (Amtrak limits animals to 7hrs or less) and doesn't drive so she really can't come down to stay with her.

Bingeing the last half of Bridgerton and knitting have been my biggest accomplishments today . I so understand your feelings on this! Self care and little things like knitting seem less important in our society. When people ask "what did you do this weekend" it feels like we have to respond with something 1. productive or 2. exciting/social, and if we don't it feels like we failed. Today, I've got my guilt-free answer for the question (we worked at the old house, went to breakfast as a whole family, and I took the dog for a 6 mile walk by mistake) so now I get to "slack off" and scrapbook or just watch Bridgerton But why isn't it OK to answer with "I enjoyed my weekend to recharge!" ITA, kitbop. So little credit is given for simply looking after our own well being. I think one of the main reasons I love scrapbooking is that I can spend my time playing, relaxing, feeling centred, and come out with something that will last--at least for awhile. So many traditional women's duties are ones that must be done and redone with very little to notice, except when they are NOT done. I am amazed at you ladies who work and raise families and yet have time to knit and papercraft. And joyfulnana, you spent time with your kids. Precious. There is an old nursery hanging with a poem to the effect of "Quiet down, cobwebs, and dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby, and baby's don't keep." Ya know what? Adults who want to spend time with their moms don't always "keep", either. Hope everyone had an enjoyable guilt free weekend!

Good morning Pokey Peas!
Early start here as DD17 had to be dropped off at 630 this morning - yawn. She's off on her Girl Scout summer camping trip - NC, SC, and GA - hiking, camping, and whitewater rafting. She'll be back late on Saturday.
Hope everyone had a good weekend

Good morning, Pokeys. You definitely "nailed it" with those cards, justjac! Love how realistic those tools look. And you are making those Muppet people WORK for you! Wow Linda. That sounds like an AWESOME adventure for you dd! I hope you can work out all the snags in your fall travel plans. This week has a busy first half, and I haven't even heard about everything in the second half, yet. Gardening this morning. Must get to the weeds in the onions! Then after school, I have been tagged to take dgs to his double header soccer game. Sometime today I will pack my GO-bag to take with me tomorrow, when I have a car appointment in the morning and plan to scrap at the LSS for the day before book club in the evening. Wednesday is dsil's Change of Command ceremony at the military base about 90 minutes from here, where he is assuming CO duties. Hmmm... think I should charge my camera battery this morning...

Here is the facing page for the "Beautiful" page above. It was fun just playing with Vicky's floating circles pattern. In the sharing thread, I am just going to add in the extra photos for points, but not sharing the 2pager. Doing my points here: two pages created & shared (44). Eight photos shared for the Donna challenge (8). woodgrain pp, diecuts, letter stickers from DSW kit (3). P-20 newly purchased VB pp, S/I-3 hearts, T-6 stitched dies, N/S-8 large photo, N/S-12 group shot. Total: 60

Oh man Linda, this sounds like it's starting to get complicated. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it gets work out and your trip goes off smoothly. What a fun trip for DD! She's had so many great adventures lately! kitbop I totally agree! I can sometimes feel guilty for not having a productive or exciting weekend. Which did you choose? I just love Bridgerton, but I sure wish the seasons were longer. I'm going to start the series over. I saw it's going to be two years until we see season 4. grammadee I agree, and that's one reason I like scrapbooking as well. When the page is done, it stays done lol. You do have a very busy week so far! I really don't know how you do it. justjac I adore those card! The muppets are soo cute, and your coloring is amazing.
