such a sweet moment her Mama captured, nylene! And you have created a super sweet page! The only produce so far from my garden: Feeling a little better about the tomatoes. This one was one of the ones I picked up yesterday. They were all kinda yellow and droopy. One night in the garden seems to have changed this one’s attitude. There may be some tomatoes this year yet. Will have to research how to virtually transfer them. LOL .

I had such a good time last night, thank you for joining! I'm always so tired by the end of the week, and then you guys get me energized and motivated. I have a LO going from Mother's Day and got some other pictures printed. Took Abby to the vet this morning. Of course she seemed to be feeling better - just like a kid lol. Nothing wrong with her ears, except some wax. He gave me ear drops for them. She's only had one dose and already the head shaking and rubbing her ears on everything is much less. Rudy is sleeping over tonight and also DS2 is coming over. We'll work on that dang puzzle and get some pizza, and play board games and chill. And the A/C is fixed. I'm glad to get this out of the way before the hot hot part of summer is here. Your radishes look yummy grammadee they are so good! I hope you are all having a good weekend!

I don't know how you picked the backgrounds to match so well, or did you start with backgrounds and matched the inks? You have done some lovely work and it has probably been a fun departure from layouts for a time. Your coloring is wonderful. It would have been smarter to start with the papers but alas, I started with the colouring and then it was a bit of a struggle to find scraps that worked ok wkith the colours. Thank you! I did enjoy doing the cards. I have 3 more waiting at my desk along with a layout I still need to journal that's been sitting there since the previous Friday. Your layout is so sweet - those photos are precious! She must take after you with that tender and generous heart. grammadee - those radishes look good. Fingers crossed for the tomatoes. I know the local farms here have shut down their U-pick fields - the heat has been too much for the plants. Don't overdo the weeding and wear yourself out. groceries are done - DD17 drove and did fairly well. She's hoping to get her license by October. It certainly would make things easier if she did.

joyfulnana - you must have posted while I was typing. Glad Abby is already feeling better. Dorian needed ear drops when we first got him and he was so much happier once they kicked in. YAY for fixed A/C!! Have fun with your sleepover!

gramma, I think I own one of those that I bought when Swayzee had a watermelon first birthday. I know I got it at Design Studio. Gracee's was a strawberry birthday so I am still hoping Design Studio will get their act together and make my strawberry mice file available to me. Thanks for the link to that website. I think it will be fun to spend some time there. joyfulnana, hooray for AC. I hope you have a great evening with the boys and a fun sleepover for Rudy. I'm glad Abby is feeling better. Does she seem to get jealous when the boys are around monopolizing your time? Linda, LOL, I guess the best way would be to start with papers....I would probably do the same as you did. I have boxes of scraps though, so could probably find just about any color! Yours all turned out so nice. Hooray for A getting her license. I know that will relieve your mind some while you are away. grammadee, those are lovely radishes. Your little tomato looks like he's trying hard. I hope you get some tomatoes. You just keep researching that virtual transfer idea. If you invent that AND recipes for weeds you will be Queen of the Crop. Thanks for the comments on my layout. I posted it on the family slack group and the grandmother of Hailey and Eddie loved that one and the "Seketon". I really scrap for my own enjoyment (and sanity) but it's fun when family comments and enjoys the pages.

It would have been smarter to start with the papers but alas, I started with the colouring and then it was a bit of a struggle to find scraps that worked ok Don't go there! That's where your process shines, and mine gets stuck - too much "pfaffing about" as AussieMeg might put it. I think your cards are brilliant. Can you imagine how much time it would have taken to find scraps FIRST then colour match an image? I totally think you did it the "right" way. If you invent that AND recipes for weeds you will be Queen of the Crop. too true! And while I'm not convinced weed recipes will be a thing any time soon (ok, brownies, but I'm not going to be eating those!) I'm sure we'll be able to "zap" things thru space one of these days! joyfulnana - Glad the AC is fixed and Abby feels better! The magic of Canada Day weekend I always look forward to Fridays, but the crops now give me an extra reason, and instead of just collapsing after work I actually do something good for me (socialize + create)! grammadee - DD gave me 2 tomato plants for mother's day which are still indoors in their small pots because I haven't a garden to put them in and havent got around to finding a large pot for the patio. I'm hoping they'll still be able to produce for me if I get them outside this weekend. I think that's one of the few negatives to this new house: the backyard has too many trees for a garden. I'm trying to watch sun patterns to see if there's any spot that might work...DS1 even thinks the FRONT yard might be an idea!

I have boxes of scraps though, so could probably find just about any color! Yours all turned out so nice. Hooray for A getting her license. I know that will relieve your mind some while you are away. Thank you. I have envelopes of scraps but sometimes still struggle with the right shades. A. doesn't have her license yet but we're hopeful that she'll be ready to test sometime in September Don't go there! That's where your process shines, and mine gets stuck - too much "pfaffing about" as AussieMeg might put it. I think your cards are brilliant. Can you imagine how much time it would have taken to find scraps FIRST then colour match an image? I totally think you did it the "right" way. Thanks. Shimelle really helped me with 'good enough' colours and that does make it a bit easier. I finished up the last cards this evening from the print, cut, and colour images. I also finished transcribing another of my mum's travel journals -it was from 1993 and she was marvelling over the cellular phones that looked like transistor radios, lol. Next up is finishing up a layout from a week ago Friday. I'm struggling a little with the journalling because I'm not sure on the names of all the cousins in the phone - I know some but three of them, I'm just not positive about. Ooops.

Spooktacular cards, Linda! Awesome use of those downloaded images and sentiments! What pens did you use to colour them? nylene, when I think back to my childhood, I remember our first taste of fresh greens each spring was cooked PIGWEED! It tastes like mild spinach. And after a winter of dried and preserved veggies and fruits, it tasted glorious! When we were in Finland on a cruise, we had NETTLE soup, and it tasted very similar. And now your family used DANDELIONS. Not sure I would be that creative to include weeds in our common diet. The challenge would be marketing! If everyone realized they had food growing randomly just outside their door, and it grew without the intervention of fertilizers and chemicals, why would they need big Agro? Or Insta Cart? kitbop, if you are going to put a garden in your front yard, you will need to invest in a fence so you will have some of the produce for yourselves instead of having it all picked by neighbourhood kids! Years ago we had a house backed onto an unfenced schoolyard. There were several foraging crews that raided peas and carrots from our little pocket handkerchief sized garden in the back yard! Off to the garden again this morning. Yesterday afternoon/evening, Dh watered the portions I got to yesterday. Now I need to clean up the parts I didn't, so those can get a drink. And I need to bake a rhubarb crisp to take out to dd & family at the lake when we go there for supper. I will have a late evening setting up the new Quarter here. Can't believe July--and the second half of 2024--starts TOMORROW!

Thanks grammadee - I used Ohuhu alcohol markers I remember picking wild gooseberries many years ago with my mum and sister - mum made gooseberry jam which I don't remember being very successful - if I recall correctly, it gelled rather too well. Good luck with the weeding. Envious of the rhubarb crisp - one of my favourites but sadly rhubarb doesn't grow here so it's almost impossible to find and super expensive if I do. We had a huge patch in RI at the house I lived in as a teen. I'm tired today - didn't sleep well at all. So planning a lazy day

Hey, Linda , if we ever get that teleporting thing down, I will certainly send you some rhubarb crisp! Maybe you could reciprocate with some fresh citrus? I have wild gooseberries growing all around our yard. My mom used to make gooseberry jam. It was super tart, but I like jams like that. I haven’t tried to make it. Get enough tart from the “wild” chokecherries we pick from the tree that decided to grow between our patio and our deck.
