(((((HUGS))))) nylene on the loss of your brother in law. So glad that you got to see him this spring. And hoping your other brother in law’s Cancer journey will not be too painful or uncomfortable for him. What a lot for your family to deal with!

I absolutely adore how perfectly matched the girls' shoes and dresses are! You will have so much fun scrapping these pics. I will have to ask if they bought them that colour or they died them. In MY day, we died satin heels to match our dresses. (So bridesmaids not only had a DRESS they would never use again, but also a pair of matching shoes LOL) So exciting that you are getting to go to Great Britain! That is a place I have never been. But I bet Linda can give you some tips.

I'm not sure how many tips I can give - I haven't been back in 30+ years unfortunately. Still hoping we can make things work to go in October. kitbop - have a fabulous time! I made a quick card tonight - image was a printable from Clementine Creative that I coloured with Ohuhu markers. I'm not the best at colouring but ...

Good Morning Pokey's! @homeschooolmum your card is beautiful, and I would never have guessed you colored it yourself. Oh wow kitbop how exciting! I would be stressing out so much trying to pull it all together lol. Enjoy your long weekend! grammadee who knew that die was going to get so much use?! LOL. What fun pictures to scrap. I'm sorry Florida won the Stanley cup. It's cool that the US has NHL teams, but it seems wrong for the Stanley Cup to go to an American team somehow lol. nylene I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL I hope you can get some help with the driving. How is your shoulder doing? I have a ton of pictures I could scrap and I have no mojo either. kellyr21 your summer concerts sound so fun and I would have loved that music. I have started this crazy puzzle, I'm still working on the outline and this is going to be one hard puzzle. It's cooled off some here, but my A/C went out Tuesday so I'm surviving on fans and a window unit this week. I need a whole new a/c unit. I'm pretty sure Abby has a yeast infection in one ear. Hopefully I can get her in Saturday morning to the vet. DGS and I were talking about a sleepover Saturday. It was so cute, because he wants to sleepover, "Unless dad's gf is going to be over" LOL. He really likes her. They both do Looking forward to tomorrow ladies!

Thank you joyfulnana Yikes on the a/c - I hope you can get it fixed/replaced quickly - summer is no time for no a/c. (((Hugs))) and cooling vibes. I hope Abby is feeling better soon. That's so sweet R. wants to sleepover still. I've been tackling genealogy this week and have two more couples written up and ready to do super simple scrapbook pages - hopefully I can do that today. DD24 has caught the genealogy bug which is fun! It's a really good thing that Dusty is cute as he's decided he's a very good alarm clock and that morning starts at 6am...I am NOT a morning person.

Good morning, Pokeys. I hope you can keep your place cool, joyfulnana , and Abby recovers from her ear issues. I put together a couple of pages this morning for this week's Sketchy Saturday. I really want to "do" the new prom pic's, but don't have them printed yet. Such fun pic's of dgd and her hockey team friends who are grads this year. Besides the Converse shoes, they have pic's with their hockey sticks. kitbop and justjac , have you seen the ANNOYING Uber Eats ads ("I'm at the HOCKEY GAME! I'm at the GROCERY STORE!")? I kinda feel that way with pic's of girls in prom dresses with hockey sticks! I now have my grad/prom papers & paraphernalia all over my scrap counters. Do I now have to pull out my hockey stuff TOO?
Gotta get busy doing other stuff now. Dd & dgs are coming later this afternoon to help with garden and have supper--and to take their dogs who have been here while they are getting set up in the trailer at the lake.

Second last day of school! And tomorrow is only a half day. I hope your AC gets fixed soon joyfulnana. I was thinking it was about time for me to set up the portable one in my scrap room. It is in the attic and the hot air rises from the main floor. grammadee I haven's seen that ad yet, but I usually record my shows and fast forward the ads. nylene my condolences to you and your DH. I am staying home for the long weekend for the first time in many summers. My mom is heading to my sister's and I thought about joining them, but we're spending a week together in mid-July and I just don't want a five hour drive on my first day of holidays. I'm planning a crafty summer with a side of reading. I can't wait to see what the July sheetload of cards is. I bought some 50% off Christmas paper a couple weeks ago that I can break out.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are doing well today. We enjoyed the concert last night. It wasn't my favorite music but it was enjoyable. It is always fun to see all the different types of dogs and their fun ways. Today, I am working on more art. I started a floral collection a while ago and having fun relearning how to make flowers. nylene - Sending a prayer for you and your family. Man, this year has been tough! HUGS! grammadee- When you mentioned dying shoes to match our prom dresses, that took me back. I remember I has a dusty rose pink dress and got my shoes dyed to match. I guess that trend has changed. Your dgd looked so cute with her sneakers and dress. What a fun prom! joyfulnana - Oh, I hope you can get a new a/c ASAP! Girl, you are my twin high heat "disliker" and I feel for you. LOL! Sending you cooler temps. Hope Abby is ok, too. Take care my friend! justjac - I know you are glad school is over. Have a super duper restful weekend. Any plays coming up this year? Have you ever wanted to write your own play? kitbop - Wow, London!!! What a fantastic trip you are gonna have. Have you been before? I look forward to seeing your layouts about the trip. How long will you be there? linda - Your Dusty was ready to play early today. LOL! DO you have dogs, too or just cats? AussieMeg - When does Spring start in your country? I know you are looking forward to it.

AussieMeg - When does Spring start in your country? I know you are looking forward to it. Spring starts on the 1st of September - 65 days away. Not that I'm counting! Then 99 days until daylight savings starts, and 156 days until summer! (I really need to stop wishing my life away, and embrace every season haha)

(((((HUGS))))), AussieMeg. I know it is not much comfort, but up here we are loving the sun you lent to us for the season... Need to run some errands today. Don't know why they say "run". I will be driving LOL. Will be dropping off some stuff at dd's holiday trailer at the lake, but won't have time to visit much since I will have groceries and plants in the vehicle. See ya later!

grammadee - sounds like you are as busy as always. Hope you had fun with family yesterday. Will you be able to get the prom pics printed soon? justjac - Happy Last Day of School! I think you're smart to take a weekend at home to jumpstart your summer. Five hours is a long drive. kellyr21 - I'm glad that you enjoyed the concert - that's such a fun summer program! Would love to see more of your art when you're ready to share. Just cats here - none of us are really dog people and the four kitties keep us plenty entertained. lol AussieMeg - can we trade? You can have MY summer and I'll take YOUR winter? It's currently 30C feels like 36C and thundering. High is supposed to be 36C with a feels like of 40 this afternoon Waiting on my farm box delivery and then I'll make my menu and grocery list. I have a pile of images on my desk that I coloured and fussy cut last night and need to turn into cards as well as this week's and last week's sketches and I want to pull out June's sheetload sketch and work on that as well. Need to finish up a few chores first though

(I really need to stop wishing my life away, and embrace every season haha)[/quote] AussieMeg, this really tickled my funny bone this morning. Thank you for a good laugh! Linda , great job on coloring your beautiful card. I am eager to see what you do with the rest of your colored images, and your genealogy pages. How cool that DD has been bitten by the genealogy bug. I am happy that your DS is back in the states. When will he need to leave again? justjac , hooray for the end of the school year. I hope you enjoy your restful week before beginning summer activities. Do you have any fun new stamps to color that we haven't seen? I love what you were doing with the embossing folders. kellyr21 , I am glad you are enjoying the concerts. That's a nice restful way to end a day! I hope you will post photos of your flower paintings. I love to see your art. joyfulnana, I am so sorry about your AC. Ours went out a week ago, but our DGS just started his HVAC business and came right over. It will occasionally make a weird noise which probably means it's going out, but we know we can get Tyler here quickly. Wish I could send him to your house! I hope you won't be without it for long. I hope you get Abby's ear healed. Is it bothering her? Are you planning to start a crop tonight? I have things I could work on. grammadee, I can't wait to see what you do with the sneaker die and those cute photos. Sorry about the big hockey game. How's your garden growing? I bought tomatoes at the store last week, and they were hard as rocks. I know I will regret not planting our usual tomatoes. When yours are ready do you think you could just hand me some through the crop? LOL kitbop, you will have some beautiful photos to scrap all winter. What a wonderful trip it will be! gramma, how are you doing? Are you keeping busy at work, or just making hundreds of cards at home? I was able to use that cassette file to make DS's card so I can take it before his birthday. Still not able to access my recent purchases from Design Studio. I wonder if they are just lost forever. I have worked so hard to get my hand to go up with the exercise the Dr. gave me. I managed to do it 3 times yesterday and asked my PT if that gave him hope that I wouldn't need surgery again. He tried to be hopeful, but said if he were a betting man, he's bet against me. I am trying to get my mindset prepared if that's the answer on the 10th. Emily called and volunteered to drive us both to St George and then to Idaho. I am very relieved that I won't be driving. I just felt like I couldn't ask her to do that, but she called and volunteered. Her DH works from home and will be with Alex, so it gives her a bit of a vacation from a very active boy! She's a gem! Hope to see you all on the crop if someone starts one.

Thank you nyleneI'm not sure when DS leaves again - I haven't actually gotten to talk to him since he got back - hopefully this afternoon or over the weekend. I'm so glad that Emily volunteered to drive - I worry about you having to drive long distances with your shoulder still not healed. Prayers that the appointment next week gives you helpful answers and a way forward. I'll continue to pray We FINALLY got rain today - on and off thunderstorms and much needed rain. DD17 isn't too pleased because she can't play basketball with the thunder (we have a 30 minutes after the last rumble rule and it's been giving about 20-25 min breaks between storms)

Linda - I always found the "30 minutes after the last thunder" rule to be so silly because it's not applied sensibly. With the weather mapping now, you can see if storms are heading your way and it's so much more accurate than when thunder is heard 20 miles off, but it's actually not coming towards you. I'm sorry the storms kept Anabelle from her game! Lovely cards; colouring is so much work! I always drool over beautiful stamps with their examples, but stop myself when I realize the amount of work involved. Your farm box looks good this week! I've toyed with subscribing to one, but there are some things we don't eat and won't like (beets, brussel sprouts) so I've always decided to go to market and make my own box. nylene - I'm guessing the PT can see you "accomodating" for your injury by using different muscles... aka cheating. I ache for you and pray for a miracle! grammadee - happy running! I am running my chores this weekend, but with the long weekend it makes it easier. I hadn't seen those ads because we don't have cable TV anymore. It's very odd! If joyfulnana doesn't poke her head in after work and tell us she's opening a crop, I will open one after supper!!!

kitbop - 30 minutes is the rule they use in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and our school board swimming pool so even if I didn't apply it, A. still would (she's very much a rules follower) There have been a few items we've re-homed - dh just brings them to work, there's a table in the break room where people put give-away items (often but not always food related). The second batch of collard greens - we tried valiantly on the first batch - and the most recent batch of eggplant - we had Japanese eggplant twice, regular eggplant once, and then two batches of faerytale eggplant. I'm not a big fan of eggplant and we went through all of our recipes (not many tbh)...the moussaka was good - but I have leftovers in my freezer, the eggplant parmesan was okay - and I have leftover in my freezer. The roasted eggplant and the eggplant version of hummus...were no one's favourite. And I just couldn't face more eggplant so off to work it went. I suspect if we get green tomatoes, they might also. My attempt at fried green tomatoes wasn't very successful. But in general, we get a decent variety and we've liked more of the unfamiliar produce than not, it supports a local sustainable farm, and we're all eating more produce. And my grocery has gone down even accounting for the cost of the box ($21 plus $7 delivery fee). That's an awesome card nylene - the cassette tape is perfect! I made two more cards - mini slimline this time.

yay joyfulnana - looking forward to it. I might be late depending on what time DH gets home and we can have dinner. Made two more cards - trying to decide if I want to keep working on cards tonight or switch to layouts. I still have coloured and fussy cut images on my desk so...I might stick with cards so to get that cleaned off. They are coming together fairly quickly - using the Sheetload sketches, scraps, and the already coloured and cut images.

It was fun seeing everyone last night. All of your coloured images are beautiful, Linda ! And you turned them into such wonderful cards! So many different designs, and of course the colours coordinate perfectly. Did you start out with stamped images? Or did you have printed outlines to colour?
I am off to the garden this morning. Checking on those poor tattered tomato sets that are probably wondering what happened to them yesterday. Then getting some weeding done. As usually, they are doing much better with the weather being doled out this growing season than my planted veggies. Think I should just look up recipes for eating weeds!

Thanks, joyfulnana , for starting the crop. It was so nice visiting with all of you last night. I finished a layout and have a good start on a new one. Also finished a card. I love Friday evenings! Linda , your cards are amazing. I don't know how you picked the backgrounds to match so well, or did you start with backgrounds and matched the inks? You have done some lovely work and it has probably been a fun departure from layouts for a time. Your coloring is wonderful. grammadee , do you know how popular you would be if you developed recipes for weeds. You would be loved throughout the world! Mom used to cook dandelion greens occasionally, which is a weed DH hates to see popping up in the grass. (but little grands love them in all their yellow beauty!) Happy weed pulling today.
