grammadee - love that facing page as well - all the circles are fun! kitbop - I agree, there's a lot of societal pressure to be busy and productive and for free time to be big and exciting. But quiet downtime is important and while it doesn't make for fun social media posts, it does make for healthier people. I'm fortunate that dh doesn't expect me to be busy and productive all day, every day... and in fact encourages me to take a break. joyfulnana - yeah the trip is getting complicated and we still aren't sure whether the new medication will help dh actually get on the plane - he has an August trip when he'll get to test that. We hadn't planned to start travelling until we were empty nesters but my sister invited us to join her and BIL and she really wanted to do it THIS year as she's turning 50 in October. She doesn't have kids and his last kid just graduated (and he's non-custodial anyway) so it's easier for them

joyfulnana, your restful weekend sounds lovely! I hope you can be online on Friday. How is work going without the problem employee? I hope you aren't as stressed as you have been some summers. Linda, it seems like every time you turn around you get a wrench thrown in the works about your trip to UK. I hope you can work things out because I know how much you are looking forward to returning to the UK. How long do you plan to spend there? Is there a friend that your DD could stay with for that time? She has really had some amazing experiences this year. I hope she travels, hikes, and water rafts safely. You guys have a busy life! kitbop, I had to chuckle about your "non-exciting weekends". Every Mon. morning when I go to PT they ask me what fun thing I did over the weekend. "Nothing" sounds so boring, but we aren't doing anything noteworthy on weekends right now. They also ask on Sat at the grocery store what fun plans we have for the weekend. Again, we feel pretty boring! justjac, I love that embossed tool background. I also love the Nailed it card. I am always in awe of your cute little characters and the wonderful job you do on the coloring. Such cute cards. Clever ideas for fabulous cards. grammadee, you have another busy week ahead of you. Congrats to your DSIL on his Command. I don't know how you keep up with all you do. I know those weeds in the onions will not pull themselves! I love your companion page to the Granddaughters. The circles with candid shots make such a great page match. Beautiful girls. No exciting things ahead for us this week. Just lots of appointments, PT, Dermatology and Podiatrist. Our social life seems to revolve around our doctors! THere are 2 other people at PT for shoulders the same time I go. We rotate the machines and have become acquainted. Both had their surgery long after mine, and they are able to lift their arm. I keep trying to have hope that all is well, but it's discouraging. I can schedule the MRI on Friday. I hope you all have a great week. Travel safely those who are traveling!

joyfulnana - Happy Birthday!! nylene -we have 2 weeks planned in the UK if we manage to get there - if not, maybe another year. DD has a second summer trip planned next month - she's going back to the boundary waters to canoe for 10 days, I think. I'm so glad she has these opportunities. DD has all the excitement in our life at the moment. DH and I have pretty quiet lives. Best of luck with PT and the MRI - I hope you get answers and solutions. (((Hugs)))

Happy belated birthday joyfulnana! Hope you had a wonderful day! Hoping your MRI gives results the doc's can deal with, nylene, and that your shoulder continues to improve. Enjoy the concerts, kellyr21. It must be lovely to attend events like that so close to home. I am puttering around the house this morning while dh is out checking on some contractors working on a leased portion of our land. I need to go out and get my stuff out of the vehicle to make room for dh and his sister who will be riding with us to the Change of Command this afternoon. Will bring in the pages I put together yesterday and the photos I printed. After today, justjac suggested I should just "curl up and sleep of a couple of days". That sounds tempting...

Thank you for the birthday wishes! It was a nice day. I still had to work, but it was good. Saw the kids, and went for dinner. DS2 gave me a huge 1000 piece puzzle board - and puzzle to go along with it lol. DS1 gave me a super cool waterfall back flow incense burner. Completely frivolous things, perfect for a birthday lol. Things at work went pretty well the first couple of weeks. This week, the stress cracks are starting and everyone is tired of the extra load. For me, it's not so much that it's more work, it's more that the guys in sales always have so many Questions! LOL! I feel pecked to death by chicks lol. But. I'm grateful to have the help. It's definitely wearing on us. What an awesome surprise Linda . kellyr21 the summer concerts always sound so fun. And I feel sure I could find some here if I tried. grammadee I agree with justjac. Curling up and doing absolutely nothing but resting sounds like a pretty good idea.

I so understand your feelings on this! Self care and little things like knitting seem less important in our society. When people ask "what did you do this weekend" it feels like we have to respond with something 1. productive or 2. exciting/social, and if we don't it feels like we failed.... But why isn't it OK to answer with "I enjoyed my weekend to recharge!" Sure, it's nice to be able to rattle off a big list of exciting things that you did on the weekend. But these days I feel absolutely no shame, when asked what I got up to on the weekend, in saying "I sat on my arse and did nothing all weekend, and it was AWESOME!" Of course, when I say that I did nothing, it actually means that I watched a ton of TV, did a heap of Peaing, and a bit of scrapbooking. And maaaaaaaybe a teensy bit of housework!

AussieMeg thank you! It's "UFO cat selfie" lol. It's ridiculous and it's going to be hard and take forever lol. I'll post a pic of it lol. And thank you for describing what my weekends have been like lately. I always feel guilty about sitting on my arse doing nothing LOL!

And thank you for describing what my weekends have been like lately. I always feel guilty about sitting on my arse doing nothing LOL! Over the last few years, I have really embraced my laziness. It is so freeing! And I no longer feel any guilt* in spending the weekend doing nothing. * Except in summer. I do feel some guilt if I waste a day sitting inside all day. Maybe 'guilt' isn't the right word. It more that I feel I have wasted a lovely day, if I haven't done anything water related on the weekend in summer.

joyfulnana great puzzle!!! I might be late to the crop tonight. I'm helping at the dance studio with dress rehearsal from 5-8 but am free to back out if I want to. I might go from 5-7 then bow out. It will depend on how work goes and how my neck feels!

Good morning, Pokeys. kitbop, I hope your shoulder/neck is good to you today. joyfulnana, that looks like a fun puzzle, but challenging since so much is the same colour. Do you have an Ott light to puzzle with? nylene, is your MRI today? Or is this the day you can set the appointment? Dd's hubby has been home all week, but has to leave for a few days starting tomorrow. Yesterday evening, he hauled their holiday trailer from storage to our yard, and he will be back this morning to get it ready for summer, then hauling it out to the lake. This evening, they have invited us for supper and to watch the hockey game. Dgs has a baseball tournament all weekend, then he and mom will be staying out at the lake during the school camping trip.

joyfulnana , that is is great puzzle, but it also looks hard. So many pieces of the same colors. Very cute. kitbop , that is kind of you to help with the dress rehearsal. I hope everything goes well. grammadee , you have another busy weekend. It does sound like fun with family though. Today is the day I could call to schedule the MRI. It's scheduled for July 1. Then the new doctor will be on vacation so I can't see him again until the 8th. My therapist commented last time that it seems that having an answer earlier would be helpful with the PT. My sentiments exactly. AussieMeg , I am envious that you can do water activities so often. It must be fun to live close and enjoy the water in the summer. I love your description of doing "nothing exciting" on weekends. That's our weekends every week! I hope to be on the crop tonight. I finished the things I was planning to do, so I will have to start something new. I am so irritated at Silhouette's Design Studio. All the files I bought during the sale have not been added to my account and so many of my files won't come up. Their system imploded over Memorial Day weekend. That's a month ago. I have some cute photos I wanted to scrap with them. My card club friend can't use any of the files she has bought over the years. She just gets an error. Silhouette must not know that many people scrap a bit every day and are dependent on their purchased files. Grrrr!

Hi kellyr21 - enjoy those summer concerts! grammadee - congratulations to your SIL! Have you had a chance to sit down and breathe yet? Glad you got some nice presents joyfulnana - cute puzzle (but looks tough). (((Hugs))) on the work situation. DH says some days he spends all day answering questions and can't get any of his work done (and then he ends up staying late and/or working on the weekend ) - I hope things get easier for you AussieMeg - I feel like I do nothing many days - but nothing tends to look like a little cooking and cleaning and more pea-ing and working on a data entry or labelling project and hopefully scrapping. Gosh nylene - that's a long time frame after so long already. I hope the MRI and the dr visit (when you finally get them) are helpful. (((Hugs))) Gosh Silhouette STILL doesn't have their stuff together - yikes! what a pain. looking forward to the crop tonight - I might be late, we have to run to the grocery store before dinner after DH gets off work. DD17 comes home tomorrow - looking forward to seeing her. She sent photos of a bear they saw in the parking lot of a park visitors centre while they were at the centre and we got a link to see the photos from white water rafting yesterday!

joyfulnana , thanks for hosting the crop last night. I really look forward to those. How is your mother doing? Linda , your Christmas papers work very well with your photos. I love the crossed candy canes and the large mat on your Santa photo. That really makes a great double pager with your smaller photos on the 2nd page. That is such a cute reindeer on your Reindeer Van. Perfect placement too. I love the lucky ticket page. Simple, classy, just perfect. My favorite kind of page! gramma , hope today was a better day for you. Hugs. kellyr21, how fun that your concerts in the park are starting. Is the park shady or do they start late enough that you aren't roasting. Have fun and enjoy them.

nylene your Halloween page is so cute! I love your paper "Seketon". How funny he carries a small one around lol. Linda I am really loving these pages of yours and the page designs you're using. I feel like my crafting has taken a nose dive lately, at least the scrapping has, I'm hoping a fresh quarter will bring fresh energy. I was going to scrap Sunday but ended up cleaning up instead. We are having a heat wave right now (along with almost everyone else). I was thinking this morning that it's probably the first of a more than a few this summer. I hope you all are having a good start to the week!

Thank you joyfulnana - I hope your weather cools off and your scrapping takes off. Heat advisories here yesterday and today - yuck - we're hot even for Florida atm. DS is back in the states after spending the last month or so in Spain, Denmark, and Guam. I won't get to see him though but I bet his kitties are thrilled to have him back. I'm sorry grammadee about the hockey news

Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys! It is a sad day in Oil Country, for sure. Except for the person whose number was drawn for the $10M+ jackpot (which wasn't me).
Glad you ladies are signing up for Q-3. Not sure how much I will get done, either, but its always fun to try new prompts.
I am heading out shortly. Need to pick up some groceries and my med's for the next four weeks. Also want to drop my grad album pages off at the printer. Before I leave, I want to cobble together a get well card one of the PEA's asked for her granddaughter, so I can put it into the mail.

Happy Tuesday! Waving hi and hope you all are doing well today. Well the heat is here, too. My a/cs are humming and I am staying cool. Last week's park concert was fun. It was a rock band that did lots of 1950's and 60's songs. They had lots of energy and the crowd enjoyed their performance. nylene we were actually COLD there . Every Summer I bring a change of clothes because it gets really cold at the park even when the days are hot. Last week, I even got up and danced a little at the end just to warm up LOL! Not sure what group will be performing tomorrow but it should be good. linda- Your Christmas pages look so pretty! I like the candy cane pp you used. How are your fur babies? I was watching a cat rescue live stream and saw these cute kittens playing around. So adorable! nylene- I left some love in the gallery for you. Your layout and cards are just too cute. That pictures of your dh and dggs is so precious. Hope you are having a better week so far. grammadee- What fun trips you are having with fam. Yeah, and sorry about the hockey game. I saw some of it with my dh last night. Going to the gallery to see some of your layouts, too. joyfulnana- Glad you had a nice birthday. How is Abby these days? Hope you both are staying nice and cool. I started a puzzle last night. I have done this puzzle at least two or three times. But I love it and will enjoy it again. LOL! Have you started your puzzle?

kellyr21 - those concerts sound fun! There is nothing like outdoor venues to add to the vibe! We were over 100 degrees all last week, and even at night we were about 90 degrees, so our AC was running 24/7, but it has finally cooled off (it's 8:30pm and 86 degrees) and were able to turn the AC off at night. grammadee - I was "ahead of my time" - I would have LOVED to wear converse with my prom dress! But it was so frowned upon...heels it was. I absolutely adore how perfectly matched the girls' shoes and dresses are! You will have so much fun scrapping these pics. Also...hockey might be the only thing that can unite Canada east to west - *so* many of us feeling blue today in Ontario! We have our England trip booked! We held off because DS1 was hoping to come, but didn't have confirmation that he could get off work. He heard today, so we purchased our tickets, and now have just 3 weeks to plan our trip So if anyone has suggestions, let them fly! We are staying with family in London, but have no other obligations and will happily jump on a train to do a night or 2 in other locations. So far, we are thinking Wales (castles), maybe Scotland, maybe Yorkshire (I was a huge James Herriot fan, and maybe even 1-2 nights in Paris? I'm trying to be relaxed but I am a planner at heart. On top of that, we are finishing up repairs at our other house to get it on the market hopefully next Thursday. We'll probably be signing contracts virtually while in England... sounds relaxing, right? I am *really* looking forward to this long weekend (Canada Day). I took Tues/Wed off as well to make sure I don't have a nervous breakdown Thinking of all my pokey friends and hoping they are doing ok out there!

grammadee, I love those photos of the prom dresses and sneakers. One of our girls getting married in winter wanted white, fur topped boots under her wedding dress. We were able to find just the thing at a Goodwill. Em wanted high top white sneakers. She used a glue gun to add lots of lace and beads and pearls. Both were very comfortable as they stood all evening at the reception. LOL. kitbop, what fun that you are planning a trip to England. Did we know that you were planning this? Maybe I was just out to lunch! I hope everything goes well and that you have a wonderful time. Best wishes for getting your old house ready for sale before you leave. kellyr21, those concerts sound like great evenings. I would love to have seen you get up and dance!! I hope the rest of the bands are as enjoyable as the last one. What a nice gift from the city! Thank you for the love in my gallery! joyfulnana, I understand about the heat. We have been near 100 most days in the past 2 weeks. I handle the heat better than the cold, so I hate to complain. I hope you get some relief soon. My scrapping has slowed down too. Maybe we can encourage each other. I have lots of cute photos, just not tons of mojo. Steve's brother passed away on Sunday. He's the one we visited in March. His sister and husband may not be able to come from Oregon because he was just diagnosed with cancer over the weekend. There will be a funeral in St. George and the burial is in Idaho. We are trying to work things out so we can go to both. It will be a lot of driving.
