Okk jeremysgirl that is super cool. I still struggle wrapping my brain around how you crochet with two colours like that. But so nice! I'd do it in purple in black - a la Haunted Mansion from Disney lol

jeremysgirl the tone of that blue sits perfectly with the black to give a soft look. I really like it. I think you can get away with so much where black is involved but depending on the tone of the contrast color you can get a soft look or an in-your-face-here-I-am look, which is equally good for Halloween. There is so much that can be done with colors in that design; she's very talented, the designer.

This is the haunted mansion I was referring to cakediva. Pic from Etsy but I’m pretty sure it’s on Ravelry too. I have trouble accessing Ravelry on my phone.

Oh that's cute More mansion/house than I had meant - the Disney Haunted Mansion is more of a pattern wallpaper look that the other pattern reminded me of!

jeremysgirl ~~~ How is the quilting coming along? Especially the trailer quilt. I read that you got the feet to your machine, so how is that working out?

I honestly have not been back to it since my vacation. I keep saying I'm going to and then something pops up and I don't. Even with my crochet I've been doing things in very stolen moments. You want to know the absolute truth? I need to put my phone down. It's interfering at this point. I acknowledge that. I don't know what has gotten on with my drive and motivation lately. I just feel so distracted. Could use a technology cleansing. 😉

jeremysgirl you and me both on the tech cleansing! BUT I use my computer to do the laser and 3D printing and scrapbooks (oh yeah, never did do those last year for grandparents Christmas gifts. Guess it'll be a two-fer this Christmas). My problem is that I just get distracted and scrollllllll and read and scrollllllll.

Actually I was rolling along pretty well and then something in my personal life just hit the skids. So I've been "coping" without cigarettes.

I’m proud of you for giving up the cigarettes. Life will hopefully calm down a bit and you can get back to crafting.

jeremysgirl, another vote for the blue/black, the detail is great. The designer did such a good job with the pattern.

You know what's interesting malibou is that most of my friends were split between the blue and the dusty mauve. However some of them were like the colors need to be reversed. Black background with blue/mauve characters. I disagree. But I thought that was interesting. And nobody voted for orange after seeing this.

When I read your post, but hadn't seen the colour ways yet, I thought, of course it should be orange and black. But as soon as I saw the blue and black my thought was, of course it should be the blue and black. I feel like the blue and black still reads as Halloween, but now I can justify it being out all of the time, because it would be out all of the time. 😁

Orange and black is very 'in your face' and screams Halloween. The blue (or the dusty mauve) is more subtle - it wold probably take people a second look to notice it was Halloween themed.

My drapes and my open closet are a very dark gray/blue. So the blue really could sit out on my couch all year.

Sounds like the consensus is blue jeremysgirl! Have you given any thought to what another tester did, rows of all the same image? Personally I felt that made it more formal and the random images are more fun.

With that said, it will be more complicated because you won't be able to get in a pattern "groove" iykwim?

I do. . There’s a lot that can be done with those images and the swirly frames - cushion covers, bag panels, place mats etc.. I still don’t think I’m making the blanket but I might get the pattern anyway for its possibilities!

Here's some yarn choice photos. I think the dusty blue is better. The regular blue seems too bright to my eye. What do you think?

You can see even a whole pic of her long couch with a myriad of pillows all over it.

Can you do a mood board with the images same as you can do at Wool Warehouse? Not that I know of. I need to make up my mind though because if I want the yarn she used I need to order and from multiple stores to get the amount I need.

This one is kind of an interesting color. It's a bit more expensive though. But at least WW has enough in stock.

This one is nice color and it's an 80/20 mix at a decent price. I'm afraid this color might be too green and the screen isn't showing me.

Is it mad that before I read your post I recognised the screenshot as wool warehouse? Nope. I love Wool Warehouse. Even though I'm in the states and just a couple of years ago they doubled DHL shipping to me. It's still the biggest store I know, with good customer service. And the yarn gets here so quick it's crazy. And I might just go with my old standby Stylecraft. I need aran weight and I know this color will satisfy me and you cant beat the price. Washes like a champ too.
