Fresh off my hook is the Delaney Cardigan by Lakeside Loops. This is a very heavy sweater. Oversized. Cozy. Will be perfect when the snow flies.

So cute!!
I’m currently playing yarn chicken and losing. Still working on my Thingie-Ma-Bob, and bought the yardage the pattern listed. I had asked in the group how many repeats it worked out to, and an assist fairy said it looked like six. I’m on repeat 4, 5 rows from the end, and I’m out of yarn. I had to order one more cake - I’ll finish this repeat then do the rows up to the border and finish the border. It’s plenty big, so I’m happy with the size, just frustrated at not having enough.
I think that’s my only complaint with her patterns - she says how much yarn you need, but doesn’t say how many repeats that covers.

cakediva I pretty much take all requirements with a grain of salt. I swear I need more than a pattern calls for nearly every single time.

cakediva I pretty much take all requirements with a grain of salt. I swear I need more than a pattern calls for nearly every single time. Same for me with fabric. Back in the day it was common for pattern yardages to be on the skimpy side so I started the habit early on of getting an extra 1/4 or 1/2 yard (depending on repeats). Now I find this isn't the case so much, but yet I still buy extra just to be sure.

Hi crafty friends! I've been mostly doing designing stuff on the computer so not much to show right now. I'll probably do a photo dump in July. I love wandering in here to see what everyone's doing! Keep it up!

I bought this granny blocker board and have been working my way through all my squares. I know I could do more each batch, but I am keeping the squares for each row separate. This is the last batch of the back, so tomorrow I will start joining them together, while the squares for the front are blocking.

Hi crafty peas. I am getting back into embroidery and have a few questions.
What site or Etsy person do you like for printable files of designs?
Can stick and stitch paper be printed on? If so is there a specific brand you recommend?
Any sites you like to buy stick and stitch patterns from?
Right now I am working on flowers with leaves that are in a 3/4 circle that is on a tea towel. It will be for my mom. I finished the first flower and did straight stitch for the flower petals and french knots for the center.

I'm still very much under the weather but I have lots of sewing plans for when I'm better.

lainey, sending you good wishes, hope you are feeling better everyday. I basted a quilt yesterday. I finished the quilt top, probably last year and it's been sitting there patiently waiting. Having got some wadding and backing I eventually tackled the quilt sandwich and got it done. It's a three yard quilt pattern from Fabric Cafe so it's not huge but I'm happy to be making progress with it. Going to begin quilting it this weekend.

It’s been years since I embroidered but I know you can print onto stick and stitch paper or draw on it. I have no recs for Etsy I’m afraid, there will be some more up do date sewists who will come and help.

So far I've made 52 ornaments for my Christmas tree. I want to end somewhere around 60 I think. I am thinking that should be plenty. And then I'll make the angel tree topper. I've been making angels this morning.

I made trees last night. All my ornaments are in shades of blue/white/gray/silver. I'm thinking I want blue lights on my Christmas tree.

The balls don't need to be starched. The stars don't need to be starched. The wreaths probably won't get starched either. I still have some snowflakes to do. And they will get starched. So it just depends really on how things come out. The tree topper will need to be starched

I just wanted to tell you guys so we all could have a big fat eye roll. I was contacted this morning by someone I haven't spoken to since college and she asked me to make her a ten foot crochet octopus! I declined. The balls on people!

And it is probably the ten foot AI octopus someone just posted on Ravelry, asking if there was a pattern for it. Answer - probably not, as it probably is impossible to make at all, let alone to a deadline!

But I hate to say I'm not a bit surprised. My worst so far was a sister asking if I had any extra baby quilts lying around. She wanted to give it to a friend of my niece as a gift. First, who the heck has extra gift quilts lying about? Not me for sure! So I told her what it would cost for materials, time, quilting, and shipping to her. Never heard another peep. The balls indeed!

First, who the heck has extra gift quilts lying about? Not me for sure! So I told her what it would cost for materials, time, quilting, and shipping to her. Never heard another peep. The balls indeed! Actually I have quilts that are finished (binded) simply laying around. I try to keep a bit of a supply of baby, lap, fun quilts in my big steamer trunk. Crazy, yes! I do a lot of quilt piecing to keep busy. A lot of them get donated (usually just the top with a backing, a volunteer will long-arm & I will then do the binding) or charity (auction) quilts. There was a recent charity auction and I had 3 quilts that combined raised $1,600.00. This is how I try to volunteer/contribute to the community. Our quilt guild donates to the local women's shelter, a teen shelter, local children's hospital and also to FCS. This way I get to use really fun fabrics and try new patterns without guilt. I know that I am making someone (hopefully) happy.
