Actually I have quilts that are finished (binded) simply laying around. I try to keep a bit of a supply of baby, lap, fun quilts in my big steamer trunk. Crazy, yes! I do a lot of quilt piecing to keep busy. A lot of them get donated (usually just the top with a backing, a volunteer will long-arm & I will then do the binding) or charity (auction) quilts. There was a recent charity auction and I had 3 quilts that combined raised $1,600.00. This is how I try to volunteer/contribute to the community. My hat is off to you! That's amazing and so generous of you to use your talents to help your community. My goal is to ultimately have a few baby/lap quilt tops completed and ready to go, but I am nowhere near that currently.

I just wanted to tell you guys so we all could have a big fat eye roll. I was contacted this morning by someone I haven't spoken to since college and she asked me to make her a ten foot crochet octopus! I declined. The balls on people! That almost made me spew my coffee!

😳 Unbelievable. But I hate to say I'm not a bit surprised. My worst so far was a sister asking if I had any extra baby quilts lying around. She wanted to give it to a friend of my niece as a gift. First, who the heck has extra gift quilts lying about? Not me for sure! So I told her what it would cost for materials, time, quilting, and shipping to her. Never heard another peep. The balls indeed! Our quilt guild donates to the local women's shelter, a teen shelter, local children's hospital and also to FCS. This way I get to use really fun fabrics and try new patterns without guilt. I know that I am making someone (hopefully) happy. I think it is awesome that you do this. I'm sure it is so appreciated.

I nearly started the July craft thread this morning. 😂 I guess technically July isn't until tomorrow. It's awful because I woke up today thinking today was the day that Sixel Design was to release that pattern. Nope. It's tomorrow. 😉

When I saw a notification about the Q-3 teams signup my first thought was I wonder what team I was assigned to! Will have to wait another day to find out.

I finally got over my quilting hump. All 6 of these blocks are now done. I only need 5 of them so I can either leave the worst one out (but all of them are pretty decent, I'm impressed with myself) or I can base it on what colors go where. But I'm off now to put together the four blocks made with the panel. These blocks are 24"

An envelope back pillow would be quick and easy. Lots of tutorials on YouTube. If you want it firmer, buy your pillow form 1-2" larger than the finished size of the cover you make.

seaexplore was it you who was asking me for the review of the oliso mini iron? Today is the first day I used it and what an absolute improvement over my big, cheap iron. I love the size of it too.

I finished all nine blocks. I need to sew them together. There will be border on this too. So it's not close to done yet but it's getting there.

I’m out of yarn for my Thingy-Ma-Bob….so now I wait.
I started my sunflower Afghan - ok I did the centre of one sunflower. It’s a chain 4 loop, 12 double crochet in the brown. I need 24-30 sunflowers per afghan, and after one I’m already regretting it LOL. There will be SO many ends to sew in!

It wasn't (but I'm glad to hear that because it looks super useful!).... it was in the thread you shared what your month of no cigarettes looked like in craft supplies. Let me see if I can remember/find it.

I told Jeremy that I know the measurements of the camper bed. It's a camper queen so not a standard queen. But I asked him if I sew these together will be take me over to the camper storage and let me lay it on the bed. So I can see it draped to figure out how much border I'm going to need. Each of those squares is 24" So it's 72x72 when I sew these together.

But I really feel it was a worthwhile purchase. I agree it’s worth having if you sew/quilt. When it first came out a couple of years ago I bought the first version when they launched it at Quilt Festival. Last year at QF they launched the updated version so I bought that one as well. Love it so much more that I gave away my first version. This time I got the Coral color!
