Education funding is way down. We have a bullet train to nowhere. So many homeless people. SF has people literally pooping on the street. Homes are ridiculously overpriced. Our local DMV’s are going to 2 days a week in person, the other 3 are “virtual”. Property taxes are super high. Gas prices are among the highest in the country. PG&E is allowed to continually screw people over for their own mistakes/fires. Really most people I know are staying for the awesome weather we have most of the year. 1. Educational Funding. The estimated 2024-25 CA budget is $228B. If the % stays the same the schools k-12 will get just shy of 25% for K-12 and another 7% for collages. That is almost 1/3 of the budget for schools. Plus the school districts will get money from property taxes in their districts. So is the funding really down or is it one of those situations of no matter how much money they get it’s never enough? 2. Ah yes the bullet train from LA to SF. They have been working on this by taking care of the environmental concerns and getting the necessary approval. The tracks will be something like 480 miles and they have the environmental taken care of with the exception of the last 40-50 miles. Once that’s done they will need to get the funding of roughly $184B. 3. I worked in SF for over 40 years and never saw any poop on the ground. Nor has any of my friends who live in the city. Are people doing it? Probably but not as much as some people would like you to believe. 4. Homelessness. Yeah that is problem that has bothered me for years. It’s not that places haven’t tried to handle the problem and spent millions of dollars trying because they have. But thanks to a decision by the Supreme Court today. Cities can just kick the homeless out of their city and someone else deal with it. 5. Let’s see you are getting ready to sell your house, your asking price is going to be as high as you can get. By doing that you’re eliminating people from the market who can’t afford your asking price. Same with rentals. The average wage in CA is the third highest in the states behind MA and NY. What that means is a lot of people are getting paid higher salaries which means they can afford to pay $1M for a 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage in Petaluma, CA. So the Governor had a plan to build affordable housing, except in some areas he ran into the NIMBY crowd and in some cases the cities themselves who didn’t want affordable housing in their neighborhood. 6. Why do you have a problem if your DMV is going virtual for 3 days a week. That I don’t get. 7. Property Taxes - Well there is Prop 13 which keeps taxes down depending how long you stay in your home 8. Yes CA pays higher for gas before taxes because it’s special blend that’s good for the environment. As for CA taxes on gas go, the voters approved the last increase. 🤷🏻♀️ 9. PGE - As far as I remember most of the fines have been paid by the parent company. What we are paying higher prices for is the upkeep and improvement of the equipment. And because I’m using clean renewable energy here in Sonoma County I’m paying even more for the privilege. There is not a state in this country that doesn’t have their own set of problems. And in spite of the problems this is the state I want to live in. Although I’m not happy we are getting another heat wave over the next couple of days.

When Democrats in other states are tempted to write off the south, remember that a whole lot of us are Trae Crowders.

I just had a discussion with my neighbor, not political. Although it did remind me of the debate last night. She is tired and going to bed at 9:00pm to get up and walk at 6:00am. I told her my alarm is set for 9:30am weekdays and 10:00am weeks days.
I am not a morning person, obviously, Biden is! He is up and at it bright and early. I am often still awake at 1, 2 or 3:00am... I do my best work etc late at night. Biden does his best work early in the morning...
That could have affected the debate time..?

The reason I have the rage I have is that this is right. Biden stepping down is a recipe for losing. Of course the fact that Biden ran at his age as a two-term president in 2020 may have been a recipe for losing in 2024. The Christian nationalists trying to change this country play the long game. I wish Democrats would as well.

Apologize for the profanity but this is a good reminder of what's at stake reminderFred Guttenberg @fred_guttenberg President Biden needed some cold medicine and rest. The other guy needs a prison cell and actually had to say "I never slept with a porn star."
Honestly, I get it, it was a bad night. NOW GET THE FUCK OVER IT AND FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY. IF YOU NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING, THE SUPREME COURT REMINDED US WHAT IS AT STAKE AGAIN TODAY.

Excellent point. On paper, Trump is one of the worst candidates. But, the Republicans didn't panic when Trump was convicted and there has been very little talk of replacing him rallyVal Demings @valdemings When Donald Trump was found liable for sexual assault and 34 felony counts, I did not see one Republican panic.
If they can rally around their criminal figurehead, surely Democrats can rally around our democracy and a good man working to protect it. That's President Biden.

debateBrian Tyler Cohen @briantylercohen I'm not voting for Joe Biden as the result of any debate performance. I'm voting for him because he'll protect abortion rights, contraception, IVF, same-sex marriage, LGBTQ rights, our efforts to combat climate change, fair maps, a voting rights act, and democracy. Let's not pretend yesterday changed any of that.

Great opinion why Democrats should not panic over one debate performance and why Trump missed a big opportunity to win over independents and moderates Gift article- no paywall www.nytimes.com/2024/06/29/opinion/democrats-panic-joe-biden.html?unlocked_article_code=1.3U0.6e4v.ni01HgRKTBDc&smid=url-shareIt’s baffling that so many Democrats are failing to rally around a wildly successful president after one bad night.
One debate does not change the structure of this presidential campaign. For all the talk of Mr. Biden’s off night, what is lost is that Mr. Trump missed a great opportunity to reset his candidacy and greatly strengthen his position.
don’t think so. Mr. Trump has difficulty expanding his base because most Americans are still proud to be Americans. Most Americans do not wake up mad at the world, fearful to go outside their homes. What is it that you are supposed to hate the most — the record-high stock market or low unemployment? At the Lincoln Project, we found that one of the most effective weapons against MAGA was asking voters, “Is this who you are?” Hold up a picture of Marjorie Taylor Greene, red-faced and screaming. Is this how you see yourself? Do you want to be the guy in the “Camp Auschwitz” sweatshirt storming the Capitol? Do you want your kids to think that being found liable for sexual abuse and being a felon are presidential qualities?

This is not some old man with a cold and it's insulting that they think we'll buy that. It doesn't explain how he couldn't organize his thoughts. The Leader of the Free World is incapacitated. The Democratic party needs to get their $#*t together or we'll have a deranged monster in the White House. Anyone who would vote for Trump because they think Biden is too "progressive" deserves exactly what they will get. They're not voting for Trump, but abandoning Biden is tantamount to supporting Trump. Sure they deserve what they get, but do WE?

Anyone who would vote for Trump because they think Biden is too "progressive" deserves exactly what they will get. They're not voting for Trump, but abandoning Biden is tantamount to supporting Trump. Sure they deserve what they get, but do WE? I have 2 questions. 1. Give us a name of a Democrat that could replace President Biden that has the same level of experience he has in both domestic and foreign affairs. You may not agree with some of his views and policies but you have to admit after his years in the Senate and as VP he has a high level of experience. So what Democrat do you think can replace him with that level of experience? 2. Below is a comment you made in another post. What exactly do you mean by he doesn’t have the strength to go toe-to-toe with Putin & Kim Jong Um? What specifically do you think he should have done? And what about Xi of China? “ He's been a figurehead who has been losing moderate support because he caved to the progressives. He doesn't have the strength or international respect to go toe-to-toe with Putin and Kim Jong Un.”

TFG thinks he was 'fantastic' with WIDE praise... ROFLMAO!! Despite multiple commentators stating Biden lost the debate more than the former president won it with what CNN claimed were over 30 documented lies, Trump asserted that his appearance was universally acclaimed, going so far as to say some unnamed commentators asserted that he "had the greatest debate performance in the long and storied history of Presidential Debates." Specifically, Trump wrote, "As I walked off the stage on Thursday night, at the end of the highly anticipated 'Debate,' anchors, political reporters and all screamed that I had had the greatest debate performance in the long and storied history of Presidential Debates. They all said, effectively, 'Trump was fantastic!'" He then complained that he was not getting continuing praise he claimed was being lavished on him later Friday. "This theme was universal, even at CNN & MSDNC, but by Friday evening it was all about the poor performance of Crooked Joe, and not so much about how well I did," he whined. "Oh well, that’s the way it is but, importantly, the result is the same!!!" www.rawstory.com/trump-claims-he-was-fantastic-in-debate-before-whin-ing/

I was shocked to watch him at the debate, but even more shocked to see how different he looked the next day at a rally. Either way, he has so many people with him with years of experience that I am not going to panic, although I did on Wednesday night!

So if you have friends thinking that way, you need to tell them to wise up. As for Biden’s debate performance, I guess I’m glad you never saw me trying to teach through a cold, no voice, hopped up on DayQuil and just trying not to fall over, short on sleep to begin with. I wasn’t incapacitated. I was just sick.

If he has so many people around him why isn’t one a highly skilled occupational therapist? His handlers oughta be ashamed. Anyway I’ve returned to let you know the doom and gloom predictions I had for last election season were premature. Nows the time. Additional predictions…liberals will blame Black people for Trump’s win ignoring the state of Michigan and how adamant the Muslim liberals were that Genocide Geaux was no longer their trusted leader. He played us with the police oversight committee but we have a hard time getting on one accord. I don’t see that being a problem for Muslim Americans. Thatll turn a lot of blue red. O and what do you know! A mediocre undeserving ass white man and everyone is all like no worries guys full trust that the VP will lead our country into continued democracy as Biden continues to leak fluid from his ears 👀reminds me of a Dr. I knew whose entire practice hinged on the Black women in the office maintaining his licensure. The mules of society. Clean up ladies. Perhaps one of the Black jobs don the con was talking about.

Seems not!
Biden is not perfect and with the present Congress and SCOTUS it is hard to get more done. He has done better then most with his hands tied.
Go red? Many more of you and us will be dead! Can you live with that?

You know things are screwed up when the guy who did nothing but lie is seen as the “clear “ winner of the debate.
KCBS… ”It’s no secret that most people who watched the first 2024 presidential debate Thursday weren’t very impressed. Based on social media responses during the debate, former President Donald Trump was the clear winner – but what do the polls say?l

Keep in mind, the convicted felon has absolutely none of these qualities. And IMO these are the qualities you want to see in a president. Joe Biden had a bad night. It happens. It happened to President Obama in hid debate with Mitt Romney. The right has spent a lot of time trying to portray President Biden as a feeble old man. Too many are buying without LOOKING at what he is doing and what he has accomplished . Look at the schedule he keeps. Before he quite tweeting Daniel Dale of CNN posted the daily public schedule of both trump and Biden. For trump I never saw the daily briefing listed so I assumed they didn’t list it as part of the schedule. But it is because every morning it showed President Biden getting the DB between 9-9:30. The first several months after he took office the VP was getting it with him as well. Meaning he was explaining what things meant also known as on the job training. After the DB there were always a couple of public things he was going to do that day. Keep in mind this was the public schedule that did not include meetings, phone calls, etc. Again look at the schedule the President keeps. And ignore the right’s narrative that he’s a feeble old man. Steve Martin… ”Being President of the United States is not performance art. Nor is it one-liners. An American President needs vision ,compassion, morality, concern, honesty, civility. Fundamental decency. All of these golden qualities with the ability to lead the United States back to normality of these qualities. To achieve for the good. Respect for the smallest and most needy and strength to stand up to powers that threaten them here and abroad. Our future is the Biden path. Vote for Biden/Harris. x.com/unrealbluegrass/status/1806795750900392431?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Tell me what bills they have passed? All we can do right now is support Biden and/or the DNC from the very local candidates to the top. The choice is up to the voters. They go red, the United States is dead.

Should Biden resign? I don't know, but what needs and/or should be done must wait until after the RNC convention which happens in just.
There is some issues in the GOP. Enough to affect TFG? Who knows.... Not I!!
