Starting off the quarter with two Christmas cards using the new July 2024 sheetload sketch - the sketch is for 5x7 but I went ahead and adapted to a regular cardbase  |

Those cards turned out really well Linda. I think I'm going to do the same but I'm not sure I'll do Christmas cards. I repurposed an Irish blessing/St Patricks Day card into a Doodlebug gnome card, and added die cut sentiments to some photos I took several years ago. That's the rest of my 5x7" envelopes used up and I don't plan to make this size again if I can help it. Now I have a stack of white offcuts to stamp on from cutting my own card bases. I was glad I had a place to work out my impatience before reining myself in for the real card, and I was able to test Distress Micro Glaze on it to seal the watercolor and make sure it didn't make my inks or pen marks run. I just had a thought - is an Irish gnome a lephrechaun? Is he actually a leprechaun? I have no idea! perhaps not specifically but certainly leprechauns are the equivelent of gnomes as far as being folk-lore creatures as are sprites and brownies and the like - at least in my opinion. |

All cards so far, I see! Here is mine. Thanks to joblackford , I was able to set it up so the gnome actually flips when you open it. This image shows the front of the card and the inside front panel.
This is for our nephew who always enjoys a good laugh. His birthday party is 3 days after his actual birthday, so this works as a belated birthday card, even though it is on time for the party. POINTS: one card (15), created & shared (2). P-5 puffy letters, P-13 glitter letters, C/M-1 red & white, T-4 circle die, T-6 stamped gnome, T-14 water coloured gnome, W/T-15 English, Th-10 birthday. Total 25.

A second card for me today.  15th anniversary by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I need to clean my cutting plates for my Vagabond. The extra pressure needed to cut the front only of this card caused a bunch of bits & pieces impress themselves into the card front. Good thing my family doesn't expect perfection from me! POINTS: one card (15), created & shared (2). P-11 Nuvo rays, S/I-1 sunrays, C/M-2 blue, C/M-5 gold, T-20 torn edges, W/T-12 two fonts. Total: 23

My first pages for this quarter. Lots of old product, doing some stash diggin'. Blending it with some newer stuff. This first one uses some Basic Grey letter stickers, and some floral ribbon I have had since my dd's wedding. They just celebrated their 15th anniversary yesterday... I dyed the white ribbon with TH distress inks and water. The pp is a pretty collection from a company I had never heard of before. The Rosie's Studio collection was a freebie from our LSS spring crop. They don't show well, but there are metallic gold accents on the floral pp. I started this on Tuesday, then finished it yesterday when I had the printed photos. Planning to use this as a sample for the July DONNA challenge: Celebrate!  THIS is how you PROM! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This page I put together this morning. Like the old ad for yellow pages (Let your fingers do the walkin'), I let the papers do the talkin' for the most part here. They have been in my Soccer bag for awhile. Added some stickers I picked up from M's a couple weeks ago. POINTS: four 12x12 pages (80), created & shared (8). Theme (10) and seventeen photos scrapped (17) for the Donna challenge. P-3 ribbon, P-14 basic Grey, S/I-6 triangle, S/I-10 flowers, S/I-12 rectangles, C/M-9 team colours, T-15 ribbon died with inks, W/T-4 soccer ball "o", W/T-6 "Prom" as a verb, W/T-7 big title, Th-4outside, Th-19 sport, N/S-3 different sized pic's, N/S-6 double pages. Total: 129.

grammadee - I LOVE the prom layouts - your colours are spot on for those beautiful dresses! I love the black and white on the soccer pages - the photos really pop against it. nylene - I love the Hawaiian die cuts you used - perfect!

I used Paper Studio pp, flowers, and stickers along with Deluxe Designs colourblocking templates  Sketchy Saturday 8 June - title is stamped, circle is punched, bike is fussy cut from a journalling card and pop-dotted  IRC the PP and some of the embellishments were a rak from kmage - thank you. This layout was inspired by joyfulnana - stencilling, distress spray, glitter paste for the background and then Photoplay PP and I have no idea on the washi tape. I think the diecut might be VB  Old Making Memories PP I received as a RAK and Doodlebug Chipboard number - Sketchy Saturday 22 June  |

Well, Merry Christmas, I guess... Welcome back to scrapbooking, beachy! I will check out your fun Christmas pages and leave love on Flickr. While I am there, will stop in to see your creative cards, joblackford, and your fun page, nylene. Linda, I am loving the rich reds and greens on your pages. And of course all the sweet photos from when your kids were small. Also loving all the little touches: the gnome, the stockings, the gingerbread cookies--and the kitty pic's! You must be thoroughly enjoying reliving all these memories! I love how your switched page design and materials for the new bike (and what amazing photos those are: she is working so hard!) and the space theme pj's. as I have said before, your books must be a hoot to read through! |
