Good Friday morning, Pokeys. Hoping all is going well. My thoughts are with you, nylene and gramma . As scrapincin used to say, "Growing old is not for WIMPS!" Even younger people are not immune. While my dd got a sigh of relief "negative" on her tests yesterday, my ddil is waiting for medical people to come up with a plan after her "positive" result a couple of weeks ago. She is the one planning to bring the boys here next week, but all plans could change if she is booked in for surgery &/or treatment instead. Oh no - 2 of them? Please send them my best wishes. If I had known what all in entailed I would not have been in such darned hurry to grow up!!

If I had known what all in entailed I would not have been in such darned hurry to grow up!! Thankyou. Each of them had "suspicious" mammo's. Dd was already being monitored more closely anyway b/c of my family's and my health history. But her results from the followup were noted as 'no concerns. Back to usual screening'. My ddil's results of the followup were more concerning and they booked a biopsi which confirmed their suspicions. She is waiting to be informed about further steps.

grammadeeShe is waiting to be informed about further steps How long are they estimating it will be before they let her know??? How long since she had the biopsi? My surgery is the "little" kind. I seem to be on a slow fast track ;-) Is the "little" surgery an option for her?

gramma I think that is the option they are looking at, but she is on a triage list, and has yet to meet the surgeon. She is a nurse, and says her case would be middle of the road— not dire emergency, but definitely needing action.

I'm sorry your family has had rotten news grammadee. I'm with your DD - had a suspicious mammo this year, and had to go for further testing which was (phew) entirely benign. But in that in between place where you're waiting for the follow up - well, it's just hard to remind yourself that things are probably OK, because there are so many others I know like your DDIL who haven't gotten off easy... I actually got into the car after my mammogram and said to DH, "well, I have breast cancer". Poor guy Linda - wow, you've had super bad yard luck this year! I'm sad you won't be able to join us tonight. I'll probably only be in for a short period - I'd love to play the evening away but I haven't even started packing. Flight tomorrow isn't until almost 10pm, so I figure I have time! DH is getting us E-SIM cards for the phones so we can stay connected without roaming charges. Our plan wants $16/day on top of our regular bill in order to roam in Europe but we can get 15gb of data and unlimiting calls/texts for $40 for 2 weeks on an E-SIM card.

Oh, joyfulnana. (((((Hugs))))))) to you and your mom. How did she fall? Does she have someone with her at the hospital? She is not near you, is she? Safe travels, justjac and family. Hope you have a wonderful family reunion. Can't wait to see the photos. And safe travels to you and family, kitbop. So you are taking the red eye and will be there first thing in the morning? Trying to figure out the time change for you. Did any of you manage to get together to chat? I just got home from dd's house. Her dh set up a lovely birthday supper for her, driving an hour each way to get fancy gluten free cupcakes.

Good Morning pokeys! grammadee I didn't you had two with questionable mammos! I'm so sorry DD got the news she did. My first mammo, I had a needle biopsy that inconclusive and then also a surgery. The waiting after surgery was so so awful but I was cleared. Sending big hugs to your family. And wrapping you up too gramma. All of this is reminding me that I need to get mine scheduled. What a sweet gesture, by DSIL, sounds like he's a keeper . Linda you are having a rough time this year with the house! I hope things are back up and running soon. I'm getting mad for you at all of this. Safe travels kitbop! I'm so excited for you, and I can't wait to hear about the trip and see the pics. I'm glad there are ways to stay connected without all of that expense. I think you'll be around 5 hours ahead of me now in the UK, where all will you be visiting? I probably should have asked this before the day you are leaving LOL! grammadee she fell in the bathroom during the night and hit her head. They are finding she has A-Fib, and then I found out she had gotten dizzy and passed out in a store a couple of weeks ago. Everything she's been describing is so similar to the symptoms I had before I got my pacemaker. So far they are not jumping to that, but sending her home today with a monitor. She's feeling good and in good spirits so that helps. We didn't ever chat last night. It's really good I couldn't. My evening took a completely different direction and now my whole weekend is too lol. Rudy came over to ask about a sleep over or staying with me while Dad has practice, and that somehow turned into ordering pizza, and Rudy, Dad and I watching episode 1 of the live action series One Piece. I've never really been into Anime but I'm hooked on this lol. And now we are having a sleepover tonight and will watch as many episodes as I can stay awake for according to Rudy lol. So today is all of the things that slid this week. Laundry, shopping - the cupboard is bare- housework and not the scrappy time I was hoping to sneak in, but that's ok too. I hope everyone has a good weekend, we are under a heat advisory until Monday evening. I'm glad my A/C decided to konk out before this heat wave instead of during.

Wouldn't it be fun to live in a bubble with a smaller radius? that would be so lovely DH and I are driving all the way across Saskatchewan for my family reunion, safe drive!

Oh no! Not more tree damage in your yard! Was this the result of Berryl? no - Beryl didn't come our way. We had some thunderstorms earlier in the week but nothing Thursday or overnight to Friday. Our neighbour said it wasn't down when he came home Thursday night but it was when DH left for work Friday morning. It's right along the property line so blocked the neighbour's drive and our side of the divided road. The county came out within 10 minutes to clear the road and the 10foot easement (which cleared the driveway) and our tree guys came by to give an estimate. "Only" $900 this time but it might be a couple of weeks before they can fit us in. Xfinity was out this morning and laid a temporary cable so internet is back - someone will be out probably the end of the week to do a permanent repair. Safe travels and have a wonderful time! DS suggested eSim cards for us as well. Our plan doesn't have an international option at all. He uses eSim when he's overseas and it works well for him. I did get two layouts done last night - I'll get photos to share in a bit. This week has been tough. And my mom is back in the hospital. She’s ok. She had a fall and they are keeping her overnight (((Hugs))) and prayers

grammadee, I am so sorry to hear of your DDIL's diagnosis. I'm glad your DD was cleared. Hugs to all of your family. kitbop, what an exciting time for you. I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip. Linda, your purple bloom, your paper pieced titmouse and that amazing Royal Gnome are phenomenal. I have looked at your other pages but will come back later to comment. I am so sorry about your offending tree! I am glad that it didn't do more damage, but an unexpected $900 is no fun. joyfulnana, I am glad you had a great evening with Rudy and his dad. I am so sorry that your mother has had some bad spells. I hope that they can get her stabilized so she won't be falling again. Hugs and prayers for her and you. I hope the $ is worth all the overtime you have had to do. justjac, that sounds like a long drive. I hope you have a wonderful family reunion. Take lots of photos. gramma, I have been thinking of you so much lately. I hope Monday goes well for you and you can go home and make dozens of cards to occupy your mind. Big Hugs. kellyr21, I hope the heat has not been too much for you! We were at 102 degrees yesterday and our AC had gone out the night before. Our HVAC grandson and entire family are at Flaming Gorge for the week, but I gave him a call to see if he could come Monday. He immediately called a buddy who showed up yesterday afternoon. By then it was 83 degrees in the house. He was able to replace the fan which had seized up and got the air started. I had been to a late afternoon PT during which the therapist gave me new exercises to try to get the muscles strengthened that will be needed after the surgery. They wiped me out. There was so much going on that I didn't think of the crop until this morning. I was so mad at myself that I missed out. Sounds like we all had a crazy day yesterday. I hope you know that each of you are in my prayers daily. I am so sorry there are so many difficult things going on with each of us. I am sending big hugs to all of you special people in my life.

nylene - thank you so much! I'm glad that your grandson was able to get a friend to help with the A/C - this is no weather to have it not working. 102 is dangerously hot. (((Hugs))) and prayers. I'm sure the PT is exhausting but hopefully it'll put you in a good place post-surgery where you can get healed up. I'll keep praying for you - and all of the Pokeys. I have an in-person PT evaluation on Tuesday - I think the plan is to try and work on hips/knees/feet since no one seems to know which is the root problem causing the others. My podiatrist thinks I'll only need a few sessions to learn the exercises - hopefully he's right because DH has to leave work to take me and that'll get old fast. Waiting on a layout to dry so I can finish it up and post - I'm doing the SG online crop this weekend - always love their sketches. Here it is

Happy Monday! Waving hi and hope you all are doing well today. We had a nice weekend an got to one of our fav coastal sites on Saturday. So relaxing! Been doing more cleaning and organizing. I have been watching these Dollar Tree YT videos this lady does shows different products and how to use them. We have a local store and hope to pop in there this week to see if I can find and of the cool stuff she shared. For example, she uses a sponge mop to clean the tub/shower. Cant wait to try this. Our weather has been in the mid to high 80's for a while now but I think I have finally figured out how to keep my home cool consistently. I have been comfortable so far. nylene , so glad your a/c is fixed. Those temps are really high. Saying a prayer for all you sweet gals having a hard time right now. Hang in there!!! kitbop - Have a great trip!!! Looking forward to hearing some of the stories and adventures you all have. linda - Wow, you have been creating some wonderful pages. Great job and keep having fun with it.

Good Monday afternoon, Pokeys! Got a few minutes to chat before the action starts around here. Our second ds (who separated from his wife about a year & a half ago) is on his way with his new love, her two teens and his three girls. They will be staying here tonight, and I have invited dd & family plus dh's sister and family for bbq burgers on the deck. They leave tomorrow afternoon for Saskatoon. If it gets as hot as forecast, I think we may go to the lake in the afternoon and they will leave from there. Then I will need to wash some bedding and get two of the rooms ready for our youngest ds's wife and two boys, who will be here until Saturday (unless she gets a call to come in for a surgery/oncology consult in the mean time) Have been cleaning three levels of the house--and the deck--for days. But have planned simple foods to keep everything easy from now on. If this were two weeks from now, I could practically feed everyone from the garden. But not quite yet... Doesn't help that our local grocery store is having supply shortages. Apparently their system was hacked a couple of weeks ago. And now they need to get all the security in place before they can order product? Frustrating. It's not the local staff's fault, but they are the ones taking the flack from everyone--including me...
Oh oh oh! But I picked up the mail today and my NEON baseball papers are here. When I have time to play with paper I can finish the baseball pages!

kellyr21 - thank you! I'm glad you got to go to the coast and that your house is comfortable grammadee - yay for neon baseball papers! boo on the supply issues at the grocery. Sounds like you'll be busy making memories with family - how fun! Mostly a housework day today but I did get some newspaper clippings 'scrapped' (it's barely scrapping - paper and an embellishment or two). Hoping to do some actual pages tonight but it's already 9 so they might have to wait for tomorrow

Good afternoon, Pokeys. First batch of people are on their way. It was a nice relaxing evening and morning, mostly on our covered deck. First load of sheets & towels is in the washer; the rest in the bottom of the laundry chute. Will need to have at least three beds ready for the next group tomorrow.
It is so nice to see these three girls as teens/young adults still so at home here--raiding the garden, the pantry, and the freezer for snacks, going through the kid movies on DVD. And the two additional teens seemed quite willing to go with the flow. Dd & hubby cooked supper on the deck; ds looked after bacon on the bbq this morning. Dgs took on the role of host today, helping me cook and serve brunch for everyone.
Got some good photos, some they shared from the Calgary Stampede, and some I took of them here.

sounds like a lovely visit grammadee - I'm sure you'll have some awesome layouts to share in the future! Enjoy tomorrow's visitors as well. I had my PT evaluation today. Apparently my range of motion is lacking in my hips, knees, ankles, and feet - I start sessions on Friday.

ill these all be in person sessions? Or will they teach you some routines in person then follow up on line? these are in-person - hopefully for not too terribly long since DH has to leave work early to take me to them. I'm sure there will be homework and I'm guessing that when I'm done with in-person, there will be continued home routines to do. The virtual PT was helpful but it's very focused on a single area (knees for me) and I think at this point, I need something that focuses on how the areas interact and that's better done in-person

A coastal road trip sounds heavenly, kellyr21. The virtual PT was helpful but it's very focused on a single area (knees for me) and I think at this point, I need something that focuses on how the areas interact and that's better done in-person I found the most helpful thing about the program I completed a few years ago was that the PT people watched HOW I was doing all the exercises, and then helped me line up my legs properly for each of them, so the work was helping me rather than hurting, or simply repeating bad alignment habits. I hope kitbop is having a wonderful time in the UK. Waving hello to nylene and gramma and all the other Pokeys. Having my coffee and then must get into gear to make beds and other "bed & breakfast" chores. Dgs texted this morning to see if I needed help getting ready for his cousins. I don't think he realizes how much time by MYSELF helps me get ready more than anything LOL.

Yes - that'll no doubt be helpful too. Perhaps a little less so for my knees as I've done SO much PT for knees over the past 35 years so I'm fairly familiar with those exercises but definitely for hips and ankles kitbop - hope the trip is fabulous! Looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing your layouts nylene and gramma - you are both in my prayers. grammadee - it is sweet of your dgs to want to help but I can certainly relate to the needing time alone in between groups of guests. I have the first big batch of photos arriving today so hope to start sorting and labelling those once they arrive. I want to get that done before the second big batch arrives next week. I think I have one more big batch to order and then I might be caught up? I hope Hi to everyone else!

Hello! It is very quiet in here. I haven't scrapped a bit and I miss it. I think I'm missing my 12x12 LOs. I've been working in pockets pretty much all year and I need to switch it up. I'm going to open a crop if anyone is going to be around. Linda, I love all of the kitty pages! The one of Dusty is dreamy looking and I love the photo collage. I hope the PT is going well. grammadee I know exactly what you mean about DGS and time to yourself. Oh my goodness, Rudy never slows down lol, and I got a picture in my mind of this past Sunday morning not having enough of that ME time lol. I hope you get as much as you want soon. Not too much going on around here, we had a heat wave, but now it's cooled down quite a lot. It's been a very strange July here as far as weather goes. I hope all of the pokey's are doing well! Hope to see some of you

joyfulnana - I'm planning to join this week (barring any unforeseen internet issues) - they did come out and swap the temporary cable for a permanent one and bury it yesterday so hopefully all will be well. Looking forward to chatting with everyone and hopefully getting some pages done. Thank you - I do sometimes feel like it's hard to make MORE cat layouts without them all looking the same and there seems to be an endless supply of cat photos. Cooler here also - no more heat advisories and the high today is only expected to be 92 with a heat index of 106. We've hit rainy season so it'll rain at least a bit most days. We're still slightly above average for heat. My physical therapy sessions start tomorrow afternoon - I'll be going twice a week for an hour. I'm really hoping it's helpful. Today's plan is labelling and sorting more photos. I got through 4 envelopes yesterday - I think there are 6 left. And then I have to sort into page protectors by layouts but that'll go quicker since I'm sorting and labelling by date NOW and splitting by our albums and the big kids albums. Hoping to get all that finished up this weekend and some scrapping done as I have more photos arriving late next week. And I still need to order some more. Please remind me that ordering monthly is MUCH easier (and feels much less expensive - I know it isn't but...)
