A quick hello from Tower Pier in London! We just finished a wonderful exploration of the tower of London where I learned way more than my brain wanted to.cram in! London is amazing. We are having a blast. This is the first time I’ve even thought to check the boards since we left home! And that means a lot because I’m always taking a quick peek into the two peas world!
I was really hoping to go to Les Mis tonight to see shimelle‘s sons last performance, but we’ve made plans to climb the outside of the O2 arena with family. The weather, lol, is hot like home. Today is about 82 and tomorrow’s supposed to be about 90! I’m counting my blessings but I didn’t pack for it!
Sorry about all the typos – I’m voice dictating because we’re just about to board the Thames River cruise to get up to Greenwich. How cool to be able to say that.
Can’t wait to catch up next Friday night, though. Cheers to all the pokies from meery Old England!

Good morning, Pokeys. Popping in before the boys wake up. They are sleeping in, probably b/c house is finally cool this morning. It's comfortable now, but that won't last long with more heat predicted for today. Great to hear from you, kitbop, and glad you are enjoying your adventure! Too bad you can't include Les Mis. Would have been cool with your dd's dance experience, and your love of theatre, let alone with the Shimelle connection. When do you expect dd home, Linda? Sounds like you are really getting that photo sorting under control. No wonder you can turn out so many pages. I sort photos, but not to the extent that each batch is in a separate page protector and ready to grab when the scrapping starts. nylene, will there be Cousin Camp this year? I had three boys all day yesterday (2 brothers and their cousin), but we didn't have any planned activities. They rode dirt bikes on the yard, hung out in the basement, then we drove them to the lake and back to dd's house for more hanging out. I got a ton of photos. No idea how good they are. When do you get home from the reunion, justjac? Is this the weekend you head for the city? Okay. Coffee is ready. I have a feeling i will need the caffeine!

I sort photos, but not to the extent that each batch is in a separate page protector and ready to grab when the scrapping starts. DD will be home Tuesday evening. They come off the water on Monday (and I expect to hear from her at some point then) Yes - my process when I get photos printed is to label them with date/place/names/any details I want to remember. Then I sort into page protectors chronologically (in 3ring binders) - one layout (or sometimes 2-3 layouts worth from the same event). When it's time to scrap, I flip through the page protectors until I'm inspired or I find a batch that'll work with the class/sketch/challenge I'm working on. Once I have a month complete, I move them to albums. Ideally I would order photos monthly...in reality, I just organised 4+ months of photos and have probably 4+ more months on the way. Hope it cools off just a bit for you - enough to be comfortable but not so much as to not feel summery grammadee - enjoy the coffee

Hello, Pokeys! kitbop , so nice to hear about the things you are doing abroad. I am sorry you are not going to Les Mis. I can hardly wait to see the pages you will do with this vacation. I hope things continue to go smoothly as you travel. Enjoy it all for us too. grammadee , will you eventually get some "me" time, or will it come right at harvest when you have a lot of picking, and preserving to do? I'm glad you will have family around close. We will not be having Cousin Camp this year. When the Calif kids come they are going camping with DSIL's entire family (over 100 kids and grands) for 4 days. That just leaves us 3 days for our time with them. DS has planned a big Pool Party at his house one of those days and DD has planned a BBQ another day. Steve doesn't think I'm up to CC this year and I have to agree. It's hard with just one arm. The kids are disappointed but will have at least 2 days to enjoy cousins. Hopefully next year we can continue it. Linda , your sorting and organizing sounds wonderful. I actually did that at one time, but found that I was just letting the photos sit in the page protectors forever. I always wanted to scrap the new ones. You can tell I am not very organized with my scrapping. Your pages are beautiful. I am impressed with the variety in your designs. It's easy to do the same thing over and over and I tend to do that. I get a lot of ideas from your layouts. Thanks for posting. I hope your PT goes well. justjac , is your Reunion over or is it this week? Happy, safe travels. kellyr21 , your trip to the coast sounds heavenly. I am glad you and Ron can get away together sometimes. Are the concerts in the park still going? How are your flower painting turning out. I look forward to seeing a video of your process. I am so far behind on chatting, commenting, etc. with the teams this quarter. I should have listened to my instincts and not committed myself. I will not do much contributing, but it's fun to have the challenges and prompts. In the last week we have had: Dental appts, Derm biopsies, Podiatry treatment, Eye exams, Fitting for new glasses, and bloodwork done. We have sat in offices for hours. Then I wonder why I get nothing done around here! I did have a wonderful day with our Card Club on Monday. Once a year we have an all-day session. We scrap until 1pm, go to lunch together and go back to scrapping the rest of the day. We had a great time and it was good to think about scrapping all day. Although politically we are diverse, politics never came up. Glad about that.

Hi nylene - good to hear from you. WOW sounds like a busy week with all those appointments. I'm so glad you had your Card Club day though - that sounds like so much fun! No cousin camp sounds like the best idea but I know it'll be missed. Hopefully next year it'll work out. Glad that they are still getting cousin time though! And hopefully you'll be able to enjoy the visit without all the extra work. Thank you for your sweet comments. I feel a little like I'm flooding the thread sometimes (and I do hope if it bothers someone, they'll speak up). I managed to get Sep-Dec 2023 into page protectors for our album and Sep-Nov 2023 for the kids album. But I'm out of page protectors so will swing by Office Max on the way home from PT this afternoon. Hoping to actually SCRAP this evening and then get that last month sorted into the page protectors afterwards or in the morning. I am so far behind on chatting, commenting, etc. with the teams this quarter. I should have listened to my instincts and not committed myself. I will not do much contributing, but it's fun to have the challenges and prompts. There is NO expectation of a certain level of chatting or commenting or otherwise contributing. You do what works best for you and please know that no one is judging you or unhappy that you can't do more. Not everyone on the teams participates in the chat thread or the sharing thread - and that's 100% ok. (((Hugs)))

Hooray!
My Silhouette files arrived in my Library this morning! It's interesting that they arrived in the order that I gave them to the young man who came to the door at Silhouette, rather in the order I actually ordered them. I think he must have truly had to manually add them to my library. Hooray!

Hey everyone. We got home from our trip on Wednesday. grammadee we’re home this weekend then away next weekend. It was very nice to see everyone and then have a couple extra days to hang out at the cabin and be tourists. We’re home in t8me for a heatwave. We have two portable air conditioners that make it bearable but we have an appointment next week to get a quote for central air.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to open a crop. . I feel so terrible when I have to beg off. Hopefully things will be back to more normal soon. Linda.

I hope the quote is affordable - I honestly don't know how people managed in this area before A/C was invented Hey I have a sick kitty and I've been hovering over her all day, I can't get her in until tomorrow. (((Hugs))) I'm sorry Abby is doing poorly - I hope the vet appointment tomorrow helps and she's on the mend very soon. No worries about the crop - sick kitties take priority.

Oh no, joyfulnana! I hope Abby recovers soon. Yay for the cut files, nylene. Too funny that they are arriving in the order you gave that young fellow you gave a talking to. Beginning to feel that gramma's version of the conversation may be closer to reality than I may have thought! Sorry you gals couldn't get together tonight. I had a houseful this evening--again LOL. Ddil is here with the boys until tomorrow, and dd & family decided to join us this afternoon, then stay in their holiday trailer in our yard tonight. Then, of course, we invited dh's sister's family to join us for a late supper. Temps were pretty reasonable by the time we ate, but the air quality is horrible. I prefer to breathe air I CAN'T see... The boys were having a wonderful time together until they begged to go out for one more dirt bike ride after supper. The youngest turned too sharp and the bike went over, him with it. His mom is a nurse and is pretty sure his injuries are simply bruises and scrapes, but he was really scared and needing lots of sympathy this evening. He did manage to walk into the house after Mikey rushed down to get him with the golf cart.

i started a crop one time but it was ages ago and i think Claudia had to verify a number from her phone. I need to learn again. When I added the meeting account, without thinking I tied it to my personal email account. I meant to have one for us to share as well, since google wasn't playing nice with @grammas account anymore. I know the last time I tried to use gramma's account, it was going to take someone, or possibly everyone who has used it to be available at their devices to confirm it was ok which is when I gave up lol. I'll be glad to get Abby into the vet. She seems to be in pain and it's just killing me. Emergency vets here are either 1. not really available for emergencies as advertised, or 2. have super bad reviews. I'm really thankful my vet is open on Saturdays. DS2 is coming with me, we had planned to drive up and see my mom today, but now we will be doing cat care instead. He is insisting on being support for me at the vet. I'm pretty sure she isn't dying, at least I hope not. She is 14, even if she feels 4 to me . Every time I tried to talk to anyone yesterday I ended up in tears and my boss finally sent me home. (which is why I was not up for a crop. I would have been bawling the whole time lol) I'm kinda feeling like work has had me on edge and Abby pushed me over. I needed yesterday for the mental health day as well. Having all the family around sounds awesome and exhausting grammadee. I DO hope you get a good amount of ME time soon. Glad the dirt bike accident wasn't serious. Poor guy, I'm glad he got lots of sympathy. kitbop sounds like you are having a great time! Sorry you missed the performance. I have been watching Shimelle's live now that she's able to talk about it. nylene you've been busy too. With not fun things. So glad you got to go to card club. Sounds like the family has a lot of big fun planned too, I'm not surprised you aren't doing cousin camp this year. That would be really hard I would think with one arm.

(((Hugs))) joyfulnana and gentle pets for Abby. I hope the vet visit goes well and she's right as rain soon. So hard when pets are unwell - they can't tell you what's wrong. I AM glad your vet has Saturday hours- ours is strictly M-F and the nearest Emergency vet is an hour away at UF (they ARE excellent though - we have had to use them, most recently for Silver a couple of years ago) Today is off to a slow start - I didn't sleep well at all despite being worn out after PT. Groceries soon and then I have my monthly phone call with my friend this afternoon - it's been rescheduled a couple of times this month (usually it's the first Sat). I'll probably scrap during the call - I only got one layout done last night and I don't love it. I'll share it later once I take a photo. It's not awful but it's not great either.

Hi guys, I'm sorry I hadn't checked in sooner. DS2 and I have been hanging out with Abby just visting. The vet gave her a shot to try to help her feel better, and he said if she does start perking up, great, no need for folllow up. If she doesn't, he wants to check her thyroid. She started moving a little slower again late this afternoon, it almost reminds me of how I am when I have the flu- Waking up feeling pretty decent and back to feeling like crap by evening. So far she's not perking up, but we'll see what the morning brings. If not he said I could get her right in Monday morning. I'm sorry if I sounded dramatic, I know she's not dying, but I am worried it could be something serious, and I'm super good at worst case scenario lol. Myself, I'm feeling calmer, that day off was definitely needed. Well, I know I'm calmer because I was able to talk to gramma without falling apart lol. kitbop I'm so envious of you right now lol. Linda those are fun pages! Both of them! I do love that SG paper. It's so nice. As long as you don't make a mistake on your journaling lol. I hope your friend is feeling better. (((hugs))) gramma and ((((hugs))))) to all of the pokeys!

joyfulnana -poor Abby - I hope she perks up soon but I'm glad you can bring her back in Monday if she's still under the weather. I'm glad you're feeling calmer - it's hard when everything is stressful. (((Hugs))) Thanks - I also love that SG paper and hope she makes some different colourways in the future. It's versatile and easy to work with. As for my friend - she would benefit from some more IRL interaction - she mostly works from home and lives alone and doesn't have too much of a social life and I think she's mostly just lonely. She needs a group like the Pokeys (((Hugs))) to all the Pokeys. I'm so glad that we're all here for each other.

Have a wonderful time in Whales. kitbop . Hope Abby starts feeling better soon, joyfulnana . And that you have a better sleep tonight, Linda . nylene I know it is hard to let go of Cousin Camp, but I an sure you will enjoy spending time with them at your ds's & dd's homes. I am sure some of the conversation will be about CC fun memories Ddil and the boys left this morning, after a saskatoon berry picking operation on the yard, involving the kids' being lifted up in a box on the tractor bucket. The little guy seemed completely fine this morning Started out with a bit of a limp (especially when he noticed someone watching), but was soon engaged in everything the other two were up to. Dd & family stayed to brave the heat and smoke to do a bunch of garden work. "Just" the detail weeding left, and I am not that concerned. Will do a bit each day. But first it has to dry up a bit b/c we watered after the rough weed control. We have had a few peas a day for the last few days, and should have a bunch more now that we have had heat and we gave everything a good drink. Other than switch the hoses on the sprinklers, I have been taking the ME time you have advised. No energy for crafting yet. Got caught up on Big Brother, and am trying to get the book finished for Book Club on Tuesday with justjac .

Thanks grammadee - I'm hopeful for better sleep. I'm glad that your little grandson is doing okay and had fun picking berries with the others. That was nice of DD and her family to help out with garden work - and yay for peas starting to come in. I hope the "ME time" is helping and you'll be able to find crafting energy in the next couple of days! I bet you have some fun photos! I got a couple more layouts done tonight - all with older photos from summer 2013

((Hugs))) to all the Pokeys. I'm so glad that we're all here for each other. Me too! You should invite your friend to join us. Unless you are like me. I keep this place just for me and no one else I know that scraps lol. Love that purple page with A. It's so pretty! grammadee I hope you get some oomf back for crafting soon. Is the smoke from the same fires that have been burning for months, or are these new fires? I'll admit I've had such tunnel vision about what's going on in this country (typical American aren't I? LOL). I haven't heard anything about fires in Canada for quite a long time. Miss Abby is feeling much better this morning. I knew it as soon as she jumped in bed to wake me up lol. Her appetite is much better since yesterday evening too. Such a relief. I'm going to see how she goes today and then decide about the bloodwork. I'm leaning toward getting it done anyway. I hope to scrap today. I just need to figure out what I want to scrap lol. Or maybe I'll just play with some inks and stencils instead. Play for the sake of play sounds fun.

joyfulnana - I'm SO glad that Abby is feeling more herself today. Have fun at your craft desk whether you scrap or just play with mixed media (didn't you set a challenge for that?) My friend isn't much for message boards tbh - she's on her computer all day for work and doesn't enjoy being on it much during her downtime. Understandable. I'm just finishing up a page. I had it laid out last night but needed to cut with the cricut and DH was already asleep. Since my craft room and our bedroom share a wall, I waited until this morning to do my cutting. We'll go out this afternoon to play Pokemon I think - it's a community day. AND I totally forgot the ingredients for tonight's dinner when I went grocery shopping last night so we'll need to pick those up -hard to have a BLT without bacon or lettuce, lol

Good morning, Pokeys! You should invite your friend to join us. That was my first thought, too, Linda . But having separate scrappy pods is okay, too. Glad Miss Abby is more herself today, joyfulnana ! Too funny that the first thing she did was demand service. She is such a CAT! The wild fires that are affecting us are the new ones that have started up in BC and Alberta over the past week. The prevailing west wind drags the smoke right to us. I have the house to myself this morning, and had planned to put a page together that I have had in my head for a couple of weeks. Even sketched out a plan, and started collecting possible elements awhile ago. Thought they were all together with the photos. But oh no... I have the plan. And some of the elements. But NO PHOTOS! I knew I was a dummy to take them out of the envelope they were in. This morning, they are nowhere to be seen. And the frustration of looking for them has completely extinguished any creative spark I may have had. Took the time I might have been able to scrap to sort photos and papers I want to take to the LSS on Tuesday. Started sorting through other things in my scraproom, but if I go any further than what I have done I will be creating a bigger mess long before it gets better, and I don't want to move things around too much in case I suddenly remember where I tucked those pic's. I have come to the conclusion that the problem with aging is NOT the loss of memory. It is the BELIEF THAT I WILL REMEMBER! I put something somewhere and assume I will be able to find it there later with no clues except those in my swiss cheese brain.

Happy Sunday! Waving hi to you all and hope you are having a relaxing day. It's hot here so we are gonna taking it slow this afternoon. Dh is off tomorrow so we hope to get out the beach area or just chill at home. We did make it to the park concert last Wednesday and it was good. The band played a mix of pop, r&b and latin music. Looking forward to this week. I think we have 2 or 3 more concerts. nylene - Sending you a hug and hope you are having a good day. I know you all will miss Cousin's Camp but maybe you all will come up with an alternative idea or just wait till next year. linda - I am glad you got through you PT appt and hopefully this week's sessions will be better. I like your pages. You are rocking it, girl! joyfulnana - Oh, so glad Abby is feeling better today. Whew! That's our girl and I am cheering and praying for you both. Hang in there! grammadee - Those wildfires are acting up again. Is this an annual thing up there? We have fires here in So Cal it seems ever year. Hope that smoke doesn't bother you too much. Hope you got some rest today. What book are you reading for book club? kitbop - So glad you are having a GREAT time in England!!!! Thanks for bring us with you. justjac - Hope you got an A/C! Linda that toothless smile is SOOOOO cute! Love the teeth and the fairy on your page! And as always, your nature photos are gorgeous, especially the sunrise! Photos have yet to show up, even though I have stopped looking for them... Nothing much happening here today except some tidying up. Baked a couple of saskatoon upside down cakes in the outdoor oven. Took the gluten free one to dd's when we went there for supper. Dsil is learning to use his new smoker, so wanted to see how beef ribs would work.
