What have I been doing since I'm stuck at home? you say. I made up card kits to finish during this time so all I have to do is glue the paper on paper. This is the first set - all florals IMG_20240729_161202970 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

Beautiful cards, gramma. Oh no, Linda. I hope you feel better soon and that dd doesn't join the covid party. Good to hear from you, nylene. I hope you haven't played yourself out too much, but it sounds like you have had a wonderful time with family. Glad that Miss Abby is eating you out of house and home, joyfulnana. Can't wait to see your art video, kellyr21, and would love to hear about your weekend, justjac. My scope has been booked for later in September. My gut seems to have settled down and I am back to a near normal diet.

grammadee - I'm glad they're taking a peek and hope your guts behave for the next 2 months! It's awful having the potential for pain/gastro upset just hanging over your head. nylene - yay for family memories, and a new great-grand on their way! Sounds like Eddie is excited, and I love the way the parents included him in the announcement. I can only imagine how cute that was!!! joyfulnana - fingers crossed that Abby just had some weird virus. Pets! gramma - I adore your cards because the images you pick and the colours you pick are so beautiful. However, I also hope you get back to your beautiful scrapping someday soon - I miss your pages! kellyr21 - Hi! I'm watching Olympics too since I'm home - basketball is on this morning and that doesn't interest me much... I've watched swimming, tennis, judo, rugby, beach volleyball, bike races, gymnastics so far. I want to catch diving, bmx biking, skateboarding, trampoline, surfing, climbing, rowing, track and field, equestrian, and kayaking. I'm going to print out the schedule so that I can see a bit of each. It's so exciting to see sports we don't normally see. I *think* I'm on the mend - how are you Linda? This covid experience was again about fatigue, but more head cold/sinus and cough than previously. I don't seem to have good immunity to it - I've had 3 vaccines and this is my 3rd go with covid. The rest of my family has only had it once even tho they live with me coughing and snorking! I go back to work Thursday, theoretically.

I finished some card sets yesterday. What in the world made me think I needed nearly 200 sets? I guess it's what kept my mind occupied and off the little "c". That was probably exactly what you needed to distract you. (((Hugs))) She was at the Eiffel tower and I was in California. so awesome! Hey pokey's wanted to give a little Abby update. She has not stopped eating once I got her to try that urgent care food. She's eating everything I put down. Wet and dry. One of the shots he gave her was B vitamins to stimulate her appetite and I would say it worked. I can see by her posture and her eyes, that she is feeling better and not in pain. I don't know what was going on, but I hope we've turned the corner here. I'm so glad to hear she's doing better. Just a check in to let you know we are having a great time with all the family together. The Pool party at DS's home was such a good time and just as everyone was tired the wind came up and it started raining when we reached home. The great-grands loved to climb to the top of the rock and get everyone to chant their names until they jumped. Eddie climbed up and told everyone to shush. Then in a loud voice he announced, "My mommy has a baby in her tummy!" That was news to all of us! Congratulations to Eddie and his family on a new baby. Was that a planned announcement or did he steal mummy's thunder?

gramma - gorgeous cards - I love the soft colours with the florals grammadee - glad you were able to get that scheduled kitbop - glad you're feeling better. fwiw - DH has had it twice and given to me twice. None of the kids have had it. I'm the most vaccinated/boostered of us all. I managed to shower this morning...and felt like I needed a nap. I am feeling a bit better than the past couple of days but...ugh symptoms here were sore throat, cough, nasal congestion, exhaustion, muscle aches...and I added in GI issues and shortness of breath.

(((((HUGS))))) Linda. Take care of yourself. From my bout in February, I remember the fatigue... Glad you are starting to get your energy back, kitbop. But don't push too hard and knock yourself back.

Sending hugs to all the peas dealing with health issues. I’m glad Abby is doing better joyfulnana. Dean and I had a great weekend. I bought three new dresses and three new books. We went to Taste of Edmonton where you buy a bunch of tickets and can sampler small portions from a wide variety of restaurants. We had fondue. We went for lunch with friends. We went to the Northern Alberta Rail Museum. I had two baths in the jacuzzi tub at the hotel. This week is just a quiet one at home.

justjac, that sounds like a perfect vacation weekend! Glad you had a good time. Did Dean love the train museum? Linda and kitbop, you are in my prayers for a recovery without the fatigue. That seemed to take forever for us after Covid. kellyr21, I am looking forward to seeing your video of your beautiful flowers! gramma, those cards are gorgeous. I can't believe you can give them away! They will make many people very happy. grammadee, I hope you continue to do well with your gut problems. Hope the scope leads to a long term fix. Things are busy here with family around. I think I will need a vacation when they all leave! Love having them all around.

nylene - I'm sure you will need a vacation - or at least a rest -when they all leave but what a joy to have them around. I'm feeling a little bit like Alexander and the horrible terrible no good very day (year?). We just got the estimate to replace our water pump in the car - $4K. And DS just left on an open-ended deployment that worries me a bit. I'm still sick...And I wish the tree guys would get us scheduled - I'm tired of people knocking at the door to let me know they can take care of that tree for us. Sorry - I'm not in a good place today. Tomorrow will be a better day, righT?

Linda. $4,000 for a water pump??? I think you need to get another quote. Sorry you are feeling so bum! It shocked me too -our usual garage diagnosed it but doesn’t do repair so dh took it to the dealership. Apparently it’s poorly located in our car so there’s a ton of labour to get to it.

((((hugs)))) Linda. Wow. You guys are really having a time! And that's without covid on top of it all. I hope you feel better soon. kitbop thanks for the pellet recommend, I will look into that! Rudy has never had covid. Even though both his parents have had it multiple times. I hope you feel well enough to go back to work if you do. Does that make sense? LOL. gramma I love those cards! They are so so pretty! What set is next? grammadee I hope your gut will calm down and stay calm for you at least until the scope. I hope they find a way to resolve it. kellyr21 I ran across your name when I was searching my subscriptions just today and wondered to myself when you might post another video. I'm happy to hear that could be soon! I love watching you make your art.

Linda, I am so sorry about your car. I just watched a program about how car companies are purposely making cars that no regular mechanic can fix. All will have to be done at a dealership and on a monthly subscription plan through the dealership. Replacing a headlight in our car was $400 and that was 8 years ago. Hope your DS's deployment is going to be ok for him. This thread is now closed. The new August thread can be found here 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/146713/pokey-peas-challenge-august-2024
